I do love these guys, and if I still lived in Austin I would love to keep going to them. I’ve only had cleanings done so I spend a lot more time with the hygienists, and they are terrific. They remember you, which is nice, and the whole visit is hassle-free. I’ve seen both dentists for a brief moment to just go over x-rays, and they were pretty nice. They remember you as well – maybe they write personal notes in your file.

Dr Thomson does beautiful work. I originally asked to be referred to a dentist who did great crowns(my previous dentist was terrible). He does! In fact, when I went to another dentist and he was examining my teeth, he was commenting whether a tooth was natural or crowned and he skipped over my crown. I had to correct him and that dentist said, «That is the most beautiful crown I have ever seen». I agree. Unfortunately that crown met up with a tootsie roll and its replacement is very pretty, but not quite as gorgeous.

Dr. Thomson office is well run and the staff makes you feel as comfortable as is possible when visiting the dentist. He was recommended to me by a friend and now I have recommended many others to him as well. The hygienists I have had have been amazingly gentle and personable. I have also had a cavity filled and a crown done in the office without incident and relatively little pain. There are TVs to watch if you like during the procedure and he explains to you what he’s doing if you want as well. Generally speaking I would get Dr. Thomson over Dr. Palmer if you can — I like his ‘bedside manner’ more and he has more experience. Overall, a great dentist and staff, 4.5 stars, if it was possible.
