Food is decent at best, but the server overcharged me big time. Came in with my kids so he got mad because we were sat in his section. Spent over $ 180… money not well spent. I can think of other places in Lakeway where the view and the food are much better. Sorry Reed, I won’t come back nor recommend, especially after the server followed me to my car after I pointed the mistakes made on my check. Which by the way, I paid full price for the items I didn’t order or received. Hopefully someone got a free meal. Or maybe just a way to screw the people that pay cash. Take the money, void the items, make some extra money…

Came back for lunch on Dec. 12th. Wanted to have a light lunch so I ordered the fried calamari and ceasar’s salad. The ceasar’s salad was good but the calamari has cooled down and was rubbery and chewy already. Wish they could have served the calamari crispy and hot. The wine selection was good.

The best meal I ate on my trip to Austin most certainly was at The Grove. The service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant has an incredible view and serves a delicious array of wine and food. We arrived during happy hour and I enjoyed the house’s red blend. As for food, we started off with bruschetta. We ordered the House Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Herbs bruschetta; the Avocado-Bacon Aioli, Roasted Tomato, Arugula, and Balsamic bruschetta; and the Figs, Brie, and Julienned Apples. My favorite of all was the smoked salmon bruschetta, but I may be biased because I LOVE smoked salmon. For my meal, I shared the medium Mediterranean pizza with my mom. Maybe the wine had already gotten to me but this pizza was AMAZING. I didn’t want to stop eating it, and I was still thinking about it three days later. I am so heartbroken that Houston doesn’t have this restaurant!

The staff here is wonderful. Our waitress definitely made the night more enjoyable. I wish I could remember her name! The pizza is the way to go! Everyone who ordered the pizza in our group was very satisfied. I Ordered the tuna sandwich and it was a tad fishy. Go with the pizza if you are stuck between two. We would definitely re visit this location.

Love this place! Everything on the menu is awesome. The only thing I haven’t liked is the Salmon Taco special.

I like the Grove and have been here many times. Love the view, the contemporary décor, the menu, the food, and I find the staff friendly and attentive. Whether it’s out on the patio, in the wine bar or the dining room, in the middle of the week or for brunch it’s all been good. Been there with my better half, my girlfriends, my adult kids. I realize some reviews are negative, but that’s not my experience.

The staff had little knowledge of the craft beers. However the worst part is that I ordered a standard stiff drink and they charged me for ICE! Regular ice… the process of converting a liquid mineral into a solid form cost 2 dollars per drink. I mean it’s not like i joined Marty McFly in back to the future to meet Doc Brown in the early 20th century where he made a contraption that made this magical precious rare commodity for his Iced Tea. Austin is weird…

I had a friend visit from out of town and I took her here for lunch. Great views and great food! I sure love the variety they have on the menu. The Brussel sprouts are a must. The service was great! Our waitress was Angie.

Business casual dining with a great view. The food is well prepared, but nothing special. Came here for a lunch meeting. The view was excellent. The staff was attentive. I got the Ginger Rice Noodles, basically a standard Pad Thai. It was delicious, but nothing special. The biggest turnoff in the restaurant was mold or a large amount of dust that was on the ceiling of the main dining room. It was gross.

We love the Grove on BeeCaves and have never had a bad experience there. We have always enjoyed the Lakeway location as well… the view is second to none. So, for our 10 year old’s birthday this week, I made reservations for all of us for dinner, expecting the type of service we have come to expect from The Grove. When I made the reservation, I let The Grove know that it was my son’s birthday, and we would like a special dessert. Great, no problem. When we arrived, I confirmed that they remembered the request with the hostess(who was very nice and knowledgeable). Yes, she know. No trouble at all. Then, we met the waitress. That’s when the evening went downhill. Fast. We were served tepid water… at some point. Later, she took our drink order. Crickets. Some time after that, she took our appetizer order… but never refilled the drinks. We saw the woman a total of three times during the evening. Over an hour after our arrival, the main courses still had not been served, so I went to the hostess and asked that she make sure my son would at least get the candle in the damn cake – just to try to salvage something of the evening. We were joking at this point, but it was just unbelievable. The hostess asked that I let her know once we were through with the main course and she would have the cake brought right out. Great. Will do. As we were finishing a PIZZAANDSOMESALADS(of course that takes over an hour to prepare), I headed to the hostess stand for the cake(couldn’t wait to get out of there). Who should I run into – the waitress. She says, «what can I help you with?» I say, «I’m looking for the hostess.» She says, «maybe I can help you.» I stand there for a minute. Finally, I say, «Okay. It’s my son’s birthday and I had requested a special dessert. I asked for it when I made the reservation, and when I confirmed the reservation and I told the hostess.» She said, «well maybe you can tell MENOW.» Huh. Well sure I can. So I did. Interesting that the communication system did not allow them to share that little kernel of knowledge internally, but oh well. So here comes Daisy Sunshine to the table… with the flourless chocolate cake… with candle… sans whipped cream. She does a fly by as we are all singing, barely lighting the candle and STOMPSOFF. Now we are all laughing and singing. If you have had the flourless chocolate cake, it is delicious, but inedible without the whipped cream. And that folks, was the final nail in the 10% tip coffin. Now, I know the waitress’ name, but I wouldn’t share it here. I would never embarrass someone like this. And if it had been busy, our family would have had all the patience in the world. Heck, maybe she was just having a bad day. But it was a special day for us, and I wish if she couldn’t have been able to share that with us, she would have found someone else who could. We will go back to The Grove, we like their brussels and salads. But maybe we’ll stick to BeeCaves.

This is a gorgeous restaurant with an amazing view. Their menu is unique and the wine list is extensive. I love all the combination of wine flights that are available as well. Our service was excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and customer favorites. He was also very attentive. The food was really great! I would definitely come back to try other items off the menu along with ordering some new favorites like the fried oysters! The only reason I took off one star is for a few personal food preferences: I prefer my Seared Ahi to be chilled rather than warm(it gave it a fishy taste), the homemade chip under the fried oyster eventually got soggy and the coleslaw was just alright. Although the coleslaw came with the quail legs I just wouldn’t order it if it were a separate menu item. My favorites were the fried oysters and the pear and honey bruschetta! Although I must say you can’t seem to go wrong with any of The Grove’s menu items!

Jesus Christ, what is it with Lakeway and Bee Caves food service? What makes a business think they can throw slop on a plate, charge you fifty times what its worth, all while totally ignoring you, and still stay open ??? The Grove has mastered this local business model. The place is nice, upscale, great view… but order anything other than wine and a pizza, just bend over now. If you are a wineo who needs to make sure the kids get some pizza while you get plastered you’ll probably be ok, otherwise it sucks. It appears they have lost the chef who started the place and built the menu, or they handed everything over to the local high school drop outs. Any way you slice it you’re going to get far less than what you pay for. Some of the wait staff really sucks too.

Best restaurant in Lakeway! I love the crab cakes, bruschetta, gluten free pizza, and my all time fave is the house chopped salad with champagne vinaigrette. I live right behind The Grove(you can see my house in the view) and am never disappointed with the food. 5 stars on the food but the service is hit or miss.

This place is a must visit, food is delicious, from the Bruschetta to the Salads to the pasta is impressive. Kudos to the Chef. Tonight I had the Spaghetti Bolognese with veal and pork and was fabulous. This Bolognese had a creamy sauce that had a slight kick to it and was very flavorful, strongly recommend. Also tried the Spicy Noodles(very Thai) similar to a Pad Thai and was very flavorful The view is priceless, the ambiance is friendly inviting, and alive. Staff is very inviting the minute you walk in. EXCELLENT choice in wine by the way. Great for hangin with your girls and having a good time or going on a fun lively date. Only thing I would change is my server could have been a bit more attentive, but it was pretty busy.

Great views! The food was very good. I had the avocado BLT with a side of the Venison Chili. Both were very good. The hubby had a burger which he enjoyed. Next time we will definately be trying the bruchetta options and enjoying some of the wine flights.

Great view, very nice patio, good service and pretty good food — what more can you ask for? I am a regular at Lola Savannah, which offers some of the best coffee in Lakeway. The Grove has a full bar, and they offer flights of wine, which i love. The menu is varied with casual options(salads, hamburgers, pretty good pizza) and a few more sophisticated options: fish, steak, etc. Last night I had the chipotle Salmon tacos which were fantastic. I have had pizzas before, and they have been of pretty good quality — but not amazing. The restaurant itself is very comfortable and nicely decorated. there is a bar area, indoor seating with a view and a large patio. One of my go-to places to eat in Lakeway, for sure.

INSHORT: A neighborhood restaurant and wine bar whose best feature is undoubtedly its deal on Wine Flights. THESTORY: Despite its neighborly, family-oriented leanings, The Grove still manages to feel like a comfortably low-key, modern space for a group of twenty– or thirty-somethings, particularly because of its Wine Flights, three 3-oz. tastings of wines for $ 13-$ 19. With less than precise pours, it often feels like you’re walking away with 3 full glasses of wine for the price of one, and although the descriptions of the varieties tend to be more vague than informative, the Contemporary California Chardonnay Flight did present three distinctly different profiles. To complement a Wine Flight in the evening, a specialty pizza like the Wine Lover’s Pizza with fig, gorgonzola, prosciutto, mozzarella, fontina, and lemon arugla is a successful match. While the crust is anything from traditional, thick and full of airy pockets like ciabatta, the sublte lemony bites of arugula brought out a surprising depth of flavor in the prosciutto and figs. The Popeye and Olive Oil pizza with fresh spinach, roasted peppers, crumbled bacon, roasted garlic, goat cheese, and fresh mozzarella is another well balanced pie. A few pastas, particularly the Vodka Shrimp Linguine with Texas gulf shrimp, shallots, red chili, basil, tarragon, and fire roasted tomatoes in a vodka cream sauce are favorites on a menu that strikes as a little too long and confused for a kitchen that isn’t particularly swift or sophisticated. The space nonetheless endeavors to convince its diners that it possesses a great deal of expertise, focusing the guests’ attentions to the expansive hilly views outside, which are particularly good during the day and at the bar. In the evenings most tables are left without much of a view, although the interior is equally as elegant. For an easy, predictable family meal with better than average food at better than average prices, The Grove is becoming a classic choice.

Had the bruschetta appetizer, which was not bad. The hummus trio was not outstanding. I might skimp on appetizers and go straight to the meal next time. Loved loved loved the tomato shrimp bisque, perfect spice and smooth blend of flavors; very savory. A definite must-try. Had the crab cake salad, very filling, yet felt clean and light. If I craved seafood, I’d come back for this. Crème brûlée desserts with coffee to finish. A nice dinner with a gorgeous view. Good place for a first date. or a second.
