Here’s an update on the Custom Shop. Rob has moved (and soon so will everybody else in that center since it’s been sold). He is now in South Austin off Slaughter Lane near Manchaca (pronounced «man-​shack»). People that know him will still find him. He’s worth it. Just call him (512−707−8780) and he’ll tell you how to get to his shop.

All of my basses have been set up here. Super quick turnaround. The intonation is set and the action is always as I asked for.
Rob keeps odd hours so call first. I rolled up looking for a tiny part for a player who was in from Mexico and he didn’t even charge me for it. When I was installing some pick-​ups in a cheapo bass I was playing around with he was super helpful with advice about the wiring.
I like this place so much that I bought a t-​shirt to advertise for him.
I am sure that he gives as much attention to guitars that he has to my basses. Check this place out for stellar service backed by decades of experience.
