Sold an iPhone 5 at this location. Quick service and fair price. Friendly customer service.

I wanted to sell my IPhone 5’s locally instead of dealing with Gazelle, etc. and having to pay for postage. Went to The Austin Cell Phone and met Hector and Leo. Leo gave me a very fair and competitive price for my phones. Very happy with his honesty and professionalism. I certainly will be back in the future and I do highly recommend!

Greeting fellow Unilocalsters, You have no idea how much of a pain your life can become until your business«smart phone» starts acting up. I had a «halo» «blue-screen» issue with my T-mobile i-phone 5s. The Manager Leo took excellent care of the problem so now I can take care of my customers!!! Did I mention he gave me a great price? Highly recommended!!! Thanks again Leo and and Staff at Austin Cell Phone!!!

I went in today looking for a used iPhone 5. They had one on the site that was no longer available, but Alfonso(the owner) found another one that he had in the back. He was helpful and patient as I checked out the phone, and even as I had to call Apple to check on a battery recall issue. At my request, he also checked again in the back to see if there were any others available. I was able to thoroughly check the phone, including camera, audio, video, phone call(he provided a SIM card to test actual phone calls). The phone came with a wall plug(Apple cube) as well as charge/sync cable(aftermarket, but appears to be good quality and MFI-certified). I was also able to pick up a used case(free!) from a box of old cases that he had laying around. Overall, I am happy with the experience and the price I paid, and recommend them for used phone purchase.

I called before going in and they were very helpful over the phone and gave me the best quote. Their website made it easy to find(it’s in a strip center that I probably would have been lost trying to find on my own) that included directions and pictures. They were very friendly, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone trying to sell those sad forgotten phones hiding in your junk drawer.

I always come to these guys when I need help with cell phones — great for fixing screens, and buying used cell phones you can trust will transfer with your carrier. I highly recommend these guys!

A few years back, I went in to buy a flip phone for a backup number I keep. Sold me a very nice Samsung for about $ 35. They installed the SIM card for T-Mobile number and it worked like a charm. I just bought, last week, a dual-SIM Android phone to upgrade the backup phone régime. I got one SIM in, but the second was a micro, and resisted my big, hammy fingers. Not wanting to break anything, I went back to the reliable folks at Best Buy Cell Phones/Austin Cell Phone. Young Leo was working there that day. I explained my dilemma. He was fascinated by the big, nice dual-SIM Android phone with which I presented him. He wanted one.(Usually about $ 150 – 199, I got it on Woot for $ 49. Very cool.) Leo deftly popped out the micro-SIM, unlocked the gating mechanism, and fired it up. It was a thing of beauty. When I asked«How much.» He said, «Nothing. Just give us a good review, IF you do reviews online.» Done and done. As a token of good will, I left a candy bar phone and another flip phone as tribute, telling them to use for parts or sell as they wished. Good men. Good business.

Bought a phone here the other day and it was a nice experience. The guy helping me was a little distracted because the store was getting a lot of phone calls, but he was apologetic about it. He also answered all my questions, smiled at my dumb jokes and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. I’ll be getting any future phones from them. They’re good people.

After getting the bad end of deals from other cell phone shops in Austin I went right in and got helped by Alphonso. He took in an old iphone and a water damaged phone in for store credit on a great Galaxy phone that already had a great price on it. Much more professional than other experiences and I will definitely do business with them again. Thanks

I found this place on Unilocal after another one kept jerking me around. They were extremely helpful on the phone and took the time to go over all my questions. I’m glad I found this place since they were able to replace the glass on my galaxy s5 for just $ 90. Most other places I called wouldn’t do just glass, and were gonna charge $ 200+. I dropped my phone off on a Friday and they gave me a replacement phone to use over the weekend. By Monday morning they called me and my phone was ready. They also have a 45 day warranty on their repair work. Overall I’m really glad I found this place. These guys are great :)

Solid place with solid customer service. I was in the market for a new phone, because A) my HTC8XT Windows Phone was starting to depress me on a number of levels, and B) I wanted something more professional for my job. The thing was, I did not want to pay new phone prices. So, a helpful associate at the Sprint Store recommended I go to this place called Best Buy Cells. It was a little store in a strip mall off the highway, so I didn’t have high expectations, but I figured I’d give them a shot. I’m very glad that I did. Leo, the nephew of the owner, was a very patient dude who knew his stuff when it came to smartphones. I told him the specs I was looking for, and he brought out three different phones to choose from. To be fair, it was clear he was trying to push the Samsung S5 on me(what salesman wouldn’t?), but for that sweet spot of performance, reliability and price, I opted for the LGG2. He was super cool about me trying the«cheaper» phone(my words, not his), and still went to great lengths to get me activated. I have been incredibly happy with the LGG2! Even though it is a used phone, it runs great, it’s fast, doesn’t fritz up and has great battery life. They even threw in a used case with it. It’s this kind of customer service that I find is SORELY lacking in the bigger corporations. This past week has seen me get into verbal confrontations with both Macy’s and Sprint’s insurance/scam artist agency, Asurion. It’s good to see that the«mom & pop» places still have what it takes to succeed, without screwing over the average person. They treat people as valued customers, and not just mindless consumers. I have a lot of respect for these guys.

Bought a replacement phone here after my iPhone6 broke. Not sure how price compares, but they were recommended to me by a Verizon employee. I would definitely go back because they stand behind their product and worked with me for over an hour with Verizon technical support to get the phone properly working again after some random settings snafu. Both the owner and his nephew Leo were super helpful and never made me feel like I was annoying them trying to get the phone set-up correctly.

Had an LGG2 I hated. Kept getting the run around from T Mobile. Finally gave up. They gave me a fair deal on the iPhone I wanted, a fair amount on my. LG phone. What more could a person want? They also purchased our old flip phones! Helpful and courteous staff didn’t hurt either. I will definitely go back there again. Oh did I mention they gave me a used case too! :)

This place is terrible, they quoted me prices over the phone and then changed them after going in the store. After repairing my screen which didn’t work properly(lcd), it cracked again in less than 24 hours, I took it back. They said they would fix it again for $ 89. Don’t go there, bad service!

I had an iPhone 3GS(with a cracked screen) to sell so I called them before coming, just because I live on the other side of Austin and didn’t wanna waste gas for no reason. The guy said I’d only get about $ 5 – 10, which is understandable considering the 6 is about to come out. So once I got there they told me that they couldn’t take it because«it’s not worth anything because it’s too old», which they should have told me that over the phone. So I drove all the way from South Austin for nothing. I didn’t appreciate that.

Had a good experience here with a broad selection of smartphones and a reasonable price. Owner even went to extra effort to print me an itemized receipt. I’d go here again.

I had to buy an old flip phone when I busted my current phone and was waiting for a replacement(insurance company was out of stock on my model). It was a very reasonable price, the gentleman who helped me(Q) was so patient and informative, and it was basically as good an experience as you can have after ruining your cell phone. I would recommend going here if you need a cheap interim phone, or if you need to have a phone repaired. Great service!

I’ll preface this review by saying I didn’t actually buy anything at Best Buy Cells, but they were recommended to me by the local Verizon store. Apparently one of their previous employs started Best Buy Cells. The sales associate was helpful and nice. He was cognizant of the fact that I had a Verizon phone, so he wasn’t showing me phones that would work with Sprint or AT&T and I really appreciated that. If I ever needed a cell phone fixed, I’d go here!

Great place. I too was a victim of craigslist shitacular shittiness of a shithead selling a phone that is ultimately useless to me. Pretty much worth shit. But I’ll know better for next time. Came here just needed a temporary Sprint smartphone under 100 bucks while my other phone is under repair. Great service and they helped me transfer my number on the spot for me. They did a great job overall and very happy with the service and phone.
