Ive used this place for over 20 years, but i have noticed a drastic price increase and it simply isn’t worth what they produce. I brought in 70lbs of boned out venison and hog(both pure quality meat) and got 70 lbs of summer sausage which was good but it lacks the cheese i asked for. But they charged me $ 2.75 a lb and $.75 a lb processing. WTF $ 250’s for my own meat for it that I had provided. When i asked about the excessive pricing the manager responded in a very childish pissy manner. Whatever, im done

If you are serious about cooking sausage then there is no better place in Austin than this place. It’s where locals like myself have gone to get sausage for your cookouts. If you go to any BBQ place in Texas, more than likely there meat is the same as what you can get from this place. I have been a powerhouse in the community for my BBQ parties and I get some of my meat from here. If you are serious about smoke BBQ sausage then look no further than Texas Sausage Company.

I like this sausage, bought at «The Meat House» on Bee Cave Rd. It has a dryness to it I enjoy, thought I wouldn’t call it «dry». I think it’s just a fairly dense, fine-textured sausage. And I prefer the jalapeño tang in the hot to the more citrus-like tang in the Meyer’s jalapeño sausage. The final plaudit came from calling the company: no, there is no MSG in the hot sausage. There is MSG in the summer sausage only. So, this hot sausage is relatively friendly for those of us seeking to lose fat, which MSG inhibits.

Very friendly staff. Pretty good sausage. They also have other meats for sale.
