I’ve only been to this place twice and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. 1. Over priced &2. Not authentic. This place is okay to those who know nothing about Mexican food. The quality of taste is very tex-mex. I order bisteck and alpastor tacos, no season and dry. Tasted reheated. Happened on both visits. They charge for the salsa if you ask for additional — what the heck?! As a true Austinite — born AND raised; 3rd generation, I’m not pleased at all for it being ‘local’. I visit Mexico frequently, from the northern states to down to Mexico City. I’m familiar with tacos and Mexico’s taste. This is nothing near it.

Overall a Great Lil Place to have a good meal at a very affordable price. 90% of the time the service is good but once in awhile you get that one girl that’s more worried about being on her cell phone or watching whatever’s on their TV then helping a customer or keeping up with drinks and chips and salsa on a table. Other than that the place is a good place to go to. Really good prices very, large portions and decent customer service. Very entertaining since they offer karaōke. Coming from the border I’m very picky when it comes to the street tacos and shrimp cocktail/ceviche. and I absolutely love it there. The beef Nachos are really good and so are the Chips and salsa and aguas frescas(lemonade and horchata) as a matter of fact I don’t think I’ve ever eaten anything there that I didn’t like. Totally Recommend !!!

I love good Mexican food. Living in South Austin there are no lack of choices. But, unfortunately, most spots that I’ve tried have been the same level of «okay». I leave full, but not knocked out. This little joint is the closest to my house but the last place I tried as its surroundings are not that promising to look at. I’ve gone now for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And I’ve enjoyed taking friends from out of town and seasoned Austinites for enjoyable meals. It’s still an inexpensive Mexican eatery, but served up with just a bit more love cooked in. I especially love their fajitas ranchera and fajitas a la mexicana. Breakfast tacos are good too. Very worth checking out.

I moved just a block away from this location and figured this was worth a try… NO! I ordered cheese enchiladas and chicken enchiladas. I get home and sure enough: 2 orders of chicken enchiladas. I had told the server I was vegetarian and asked about the sauce so I’m sure this was an accident but still supper annoying as I had to drive back. When i finally ate my cheese enchiladas, they were just like Taco Cabana but more expensive. Rather disappointing experience.

I usually come for the lunch specials, they are not bad for the money. The service is okay.

Have been coming here for about a year now maybe 1 – 2 times a month. But lately food quality has been declining. Had really salty food,(couldn’t even eat it, that’s how salty it was) told them about it. Their reaction basically«who cares«. Didn’t want anything thing just wanted a simple apology. So yup won’t be coming here anymore. It’s seems like customer service is a very low priority here!

The menu is really expansive, tons of different foods to choose from, even if you don’t want Mexican food. The prices are pretty good too. The portions are pretty big and if they accidentally leave something off, they fix it right away without making you feel bad or picky. The place is pretty clean, I’d say the atmosphere is very chilly. Turn the air down a little please! They don’t have sweet tea(this is Texas), so I was a little bummed about that, but the waitress is very nice and they do have traditional Mexican drinks. Overall, my main complaint was how chilly it was and that they forgot the avocado on my burrito, pish posh, they deserve four stars! Ooh, I think they also do karaōke, so we shall see how my review changes in the future if I have the chance to check that out!

This place is good. I go here every time I’m in town. The green sauce is really good here. I gave four stars only because it’s good and the ladies at the front are nice. There’s nothing fancy about it but I do go back.

Nice family run restaurant with a large menu. Good house made tortillas and a good creamy jalapeño salsa. Only had breakfast but I enjoyed it.

I’ve only been here for breakfast tacos and only after a «run.» The tacos are tasty. I mean, yeah, anything is delicious after a 6(or whatever) mile run, but they’re still tasty. The woman at the counter is always pleasant. Go ahead and get a few containers of salsas. The green stuff is generally quite spicy and quite delicious(I say«generally» because there were a few batches in there that weren’t at the regular spice level). Never been disappointed by anything I’ve ordered and I don’t think my running friends have, either.

I was lured in by a sign stating they had handmade tortillas. Apparently not that day. Bait and switch. The chips could have been fresher, but the green salsa was spot on. I wasn’t sure whether to stick around and order since they were using mediocre tortillas, but I couldn’t resist once I saw milanesa tacos on the menu. No taco left behind. Seriously, tell me about another place that actually states that they will put milanesa in a taco for you! It was just alright, but it still made my day.

This place is another South Austin nugget. Quality food that is cheap and served quickly… which is not found often. Plus they are nice and responsive. The quantity is above average. You can go next door and get a Sake bomb if you so desire.
