No frills, authentic food. Great prices on breakfast tacos! Monday-Friday, you can get 3 bfast tacos with 2 fillings for $ 3.99! That’s the equivalent of one taco at Torchy’s, Taco Deli, or «insert name of overpriced taco place here.» You don’t get all the bells and whistles, but that’s why their prices are better. They have a drive up window, which I thought was cool. The menu on the wall is almost impossible to read, as its faded by the sun and paint is chipping off. We asked for a menu when we pulled up, however, and quickly ordered. The tacos(bacon egg and cheese, sausage egg and cheese) were tasty. They toast their tortillas, which I really like, so they’re not raw not soggy. Good salsas(red and green). The queso lacked a little flavor. I’ll be back for tacos and would like to try their lunch/dinner dishes!

Delicious food. Great salsa(mild red and spicy, creamy green salsa). Crispy fresh chips. Extensive menu. Attentive service. Lots of windows and natural light. I love it! They may have the best crispy tacos in Austin. They make their own shell and it doesn’t crumble when you bite into it, which qualifies as a verified taco miracle.

Been here twice for breakfast and got the chilaquiles rojos both times. Rojos are typically milder than verdes. Chilaquiles don’t have eggs. If they did, they would be migas. but you can get them on top if you want. the bf had huevos rancheros and then the machacado. the former were good, the latter were not as good as we would have liked…

Best Micheladas in Austin, best creamy green sauce, and pretty darn tasty carne asada tacos. One of my favorite places to frequent for good, cheap Mexican Food.

If I didn’t know any better I would say that I was somewhere in South Tx. I had the number 1 but it was the tortillas and verde salsa that earned the extra star. The Tejano/Ranchero music videos were perfect for this place. The salsa has a kick to it and the carne was marinated perfectly. I feel like buying snakeskin boots and a matching belt!

My hubby & I just ate here for the first time. I saw them while driving by, called my love, said they got FOURSTARS on Unilocal,LET’S GO!!! We get there, eh. Not impessed. Some tables were still not cleaned off, it took a while for us to FINALLY get seated, then ehen we did, another 10min. wait. I ordered the #45 Crispy Taco Plate, with charro beans, & my hubby ordered the caldo soup. Well, I bit into the taco shell, & it was not ground beef, but beef fajita meat IN A CRISPYTACOSHELL. WTF?! The charro beans were hot & excellent. Hubby’s caldo he said was bland; it had no flavor. Their sweet tea was GREAT, he had a frzn rita, which again was BLAND. The chips & salsa were pretty good… They also had karoke the WHOLETIME, extremely loud. Not sure we’ll be back, or no time soon.

I had three bean and egg tacos on corn tortillas for $ 2.99. Good value and the tacos were very good. The salsa is good but the green sauce is the best. Some heat to it and it really adds something to whatever you put it on. Nice service as well. I’ve also had the bacon and egg plate which comes with scrambled eggs with bacon mixed in, and breakfast potatoes and refried beans with your choice of flour or corn tortillas for $ 4.50. Very good deal, and you don’t leave hungry.

The food here is pretty good — the area its in looks and feels like a hole in the wall but looks can be deceiving! You get some green sauce and salsa with your chips(if you like some kick, the green sauce is amazing). I ended up getting a torta with al pastor — nice soft grilled tellera roll with all the fixings. The sandwich is actually pretty big, more than enough to satisfy me. And its cheap to boot. Some of my friends got some of the plates and they were super big. The tortillas look homemade so they go really well with them. Horchata here is interesting and so is the lemonade. No refills though =(

Decent food for sure. The service definitely depends on when you go. Oddly, the more crowded it is, the better the service. You can’t beat drive thru breakfast tacos though. Oh, and try the chicken flautas!

Great find! This place has the best Parillada in Austin! It’s pretty much a combination of grilled Beef, Chicken and Shrimp with onions and bell peppers. It comes with rice and beans. The chips are thin and yummy and the green sauce is AWESOME!

This place is delicious! I have gotten the gigantic breakfast burrito 4 times this week(get it with the queso blanco!). Pretty cheap. And the green sauce is among the best in Austin. Service is kind of slow sometimes, but if you’re willing to wait this place is highly recommended.

I’m only reviewing based on their breakfast menu. I take my dog to the daycare right next door and finally decided to swing by for some breakfast and I’m glad I did! My boyfriend got the three breakfast tacos for $ 3 which cannot be beat for value! I ordered the chilaquiles and I’m in heaven. Sometimes I get them with eggs sometimes without but they always rock. The service is just fine and the ambiance is nothing special but it makes happy!

Service was mediocre. Burrito with no cheese on it? And what kind of Mexican food restaurant doesn’t have sopapillas?!

Everything I love about the other TLJ. There’s not too much else I can say that’s not in my original review for the other location. The green sauce(«Yoda Sauce» as I call it) is absolutely killer. There were 5 tables and one waitress… She managed to rock it and keep everybody happy. There was some live karaōke hijinks going on, as well. I was too busy eating.

The green salsa should come with a warning label! Holy hot my mouth is on fire! There is nothing fancy about this place and when you enter you are greeted promptly and shown to a table! Just a little bar in the corner that doesn’t have seating, a cd playing juke box and plenty of staff! They bring you chips and 2 salsas. I loved the green salsa but, as I mentioned be careful, wow it has kick! I didn’t really care for the red salsa, it was watery and didn’t have too much flavor! I think it spent too much time in the blender! For my entrée I ordered the Camerones Rancheros which is shrimp sauteed with garlic, butter and onions. It comes with salad which is a piece of avocado, shaved lettuce and tomato slices. It also came with rice and french fries. I thought it was a little odd that it came with fries but, who am I to judge? I was regretting my decision as I waited for my meal because I find Mexican restaurants don’t know how to properly use garlic. Either it is too much, not fresh or too little! The first bite put my mind at ease about my decision! The shrimp were sauteed to perfection and the onion garlic butter combo was truly done exceptionally well! The rice was well seasoned and moist! I didn’t care for the french fries or the«salad» but, overall I have to say the quality and flavor surprised me! I left here way too full because it was so delicious I couldn’t stop myself! Nice neighborhood Mexican place! Quick service and a friendly staff!

The hole in the wall joints are supposed to be the best, right? And the average Unilocal review is a solid 4 stars. I’m afraid I can’t quite go that high with this place. Yet, anyway. I stopped in one morning on my way to meet someone and ordered the migas plate. It arrived quickly enough. The actual migas were fine, albeit a little overcooked in the egg department. My refried beans were pretty soupy and unnecessary. The potatoes were just potatoes. I can say with a certainty that I wouldn’t order this again. I won’t argue about the prices, as it seems very reasonable across the board. The service was okay, but I don’t speak very much Spanish, which may have made things a little easier in that department. Most of the glowing reviews here are regarding lunch/dinner menu items, so I’ll have to give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again sometime. All in due time.
