Its okay, not outstanding. I get the menudo, its good. The tortillas are good. Theres a place to sit nearby. They usually close up if its raining or if its really cold. Burritos are decent. Kind of pricey for a food truck. Some of the items may be time consuming, so you might wanna place your order in advance.

Tried the gorditas(pastor and barbacoa) and the chicken burrito. All were excellent: fresh ingredients, well prepared and flavorful.

Straight up street tacos. Been coming here since 2006. Always been the same delicious tacos and salsas. And food comes out fast. Not one complaint I’ve ever had in 10 years. Headed there now cuz now this got me hungry. Maybe I’ll post pics.

I walked up and said, «what’s the best way to spend $ 4?» They exceeded my vague expectations. These tacos make my mouth like me. That’s always helpful when trying to get through life. Make your mouth happy. Buy some good tacos. Here.

How does this place have so many good reviews!!! I have been three times, each time hoping that the time before wasn’t just a fluke. First of all, their tacos are a bit pricy for what you get. Now, I’m a huge fan of pastor tacos and their meat is so dry and just plain awful. It’s almost like they keep it under heat lamps and don’t even bother keeping it in juice pans. I will say the chorizo breakfast taco I got(I didn’t order it but was given it via error instead of what I ordered) was pretty darn good. But everything else I have had was not just sub par, but pretty darn bad. The mistaken chorizo taco earned them the second star.

Best tortillas on Airport!!! These tortillas make the best tacos on airport. Handmade tortillas made to order. You can see the masa, the tortilla press behind the window. You know you’re getting the real deal. They’re strong enough that you only need 1 tortilla– not 2 to hold the taco together. Breakfast tacos made to order. Tacos aren’t big so get 2. Just incredible.

Authentic Mexican tacos. Tried the carne guisada, pastor, lingua, barbacoa, and beef fajita. The corn tortillas blew me away! Very friendly staff. Food was excellent!!!

Great tacos! Had the carne guisada taco, best taco I’ve had since moving to Austin. The corn tortilla was probably the best I’ve ever had period. The hot sauce is so good too, and pretty spicy. They give you two hot sauces and the one that’s darker is the best and hottest. Also had the beef gordita. It was good. Not the most tender meat ever but it was good. And the tortilla on it was on point! Overall solid taco truck. I would drive out of my way and pass several others to eat here. Just saying.

Amazing tacos. They remind me so much of mexico. I swear these tacos are the bees knees. They have their homeade recipe for their tortillas. I am definitely cooming back here again

This is my go-to for cheap and tasty Mexican food when it’s too late(read: I’m too lazy) to cook. I usually get the bistec gordita and a carne guisada taco and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Honestly one of the first places in Austin that comes close to reminding me of my abuelita’s cooking.

First of all the lady taking our order was really nice. Now to the food, me and my hubby ordered gordita de bistec which was good, not ‘oh my god’ good, but ok. I liked the fact that the gordita was made to order, and not premade and fried like other places. We also got tacos, al pastor, barbacoa, picadillo, and tripa. The barbacoa was not authentic fatty barbacoa. Nonetheless it was the best out of all of them. The al pastor was dry and not the usual pastor meat elsewhere, it was chopped too finely. The picadillo I did not eat at all. Picadillo for me consists of ground beef, potato, carrots, and sometimes calabacita, well this one had beef, potato, corn, peas, and some other kinda bean in there which I did not like at all. My husband got the tripa which he said was ok. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back and give them another try. The three stars is for the homeade tortillas and gorditas. I would say 2.5 stars overall.

THEBEST Mexican food I’ve had in Austin, and there are few I haven’t been to. Here’s the deal: If you want those REAL, authentic flavors you were used to growing up(in my case) or if you’re wanting to experience that flavor for the first time– try it. They make their own tortillas fresh(they cook them to order) and their frijoles are sooo goood. I usually get a bean and potato taco on corn. It’s the real deal.

These tacos are delicious, very authentic, and served hot enough that I can take them home and they still taste freshly made when I unwrap the foil. I recommend trying the Barbacoa or the Al Pastor with a corn tortilla, onions, and cilantro — it is an absolutely heavenly experience. I am also a big fan of the green sauce– check that out! The staff is very warm and friendly, there are a few small tables if you’d like to sit down to eat, and best of all, the food is cheap! The ONLY reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because sometimes the meat is a little dry.

My wife told me that there was a great Mexican trailer that has pretty authentic food and boy was she right! Taqueria La Canaria is delicious! The food is to die for! Sure it is a small trailer and the employees don’t speak very good English, but these are the type of trailers that you want to get Mexican food from here in Austin. I have tasted a handful of tacos here but what blew me away was the Carne Guisada de Puerco en Salsa Roja Tostada. This thing is the real deal and is the reason why I bug my wife to come with with me to this place. As it is a trailer next to a convenient store there is not much of a place to sit and eat. They have a small table or two outside the trailer that you can eat at, but I see most people taking it to go(the food comes out pretty fast). If you want some genuinely good mexican food that is authentic and wont break your bank for a taco and a tostada, then definitely try this place out.

So I grew up in a small Mexican town. I’m very particular about my Mexican food. No lie. So believe me when I say this is the real deal. Sure it looks sketchy. Sure the employees don’t really speak English. But hey. The food can speak for itself. I tried the Barbacoa, lengua, and al pastor $ 2 tacos. All very excellent and satisfying.

3⁄5 friendly and educational got here before starting the road trip back to nola, and figured this was as good a place as any to grab some breakfast tacos. here we were, 3 non-spanish speakers trying to decide what to cram into the corn tortilla yummies(fyi: chorizo, always chorizo), and after muddling through the order the owner gave us a friendly lesson in spanish(not being sarcastic, he was really nice about it). it was just a short wait as we reviewed the lesson before they were ready, and they were yummy. i’ve had better in the past though, but these were a decent option.

As an update to previous images of the menu, all tacos are currently $ 2, all gorditas are $ 4. I went for the first time today and got 3 tacos: carne guisada, barbacoa, and al pastor. The first two were amazing, the final one was just OK. Because the carne guisada is just a more delicious version of the al pastor, I highly recommend always opting for the former rather than the latter. The service was friendly and the salsa was delicious(and a bit spicy). One of my friends got the gordita and I think next time I’ll getting a gordita and a taco because his meal looked even more amazing. The only negative here is the lack of parking.

If you like authentic Mexican street tacos, this is a great choice. If you were planning to eat in, maybe not so much. I took the recommendation of another reviewer and got the picadillo(ground beef) with potatoes, the pork meat in red sauce, and the al pastor. Start with my usual favorite, the Al Pastor. The other reviewer said it was bad, but for a buck and change, I had to judge for myself. I found it worse than previously described. It had a TERRIBLE off taste that I recognized but couldn’t place. Yuck! The picadillo was good, though I didn’t see any potatoes. It had peas in it, and was seasoned pretty well. Ground beef isn’t my first choice, but this was good. The winner though was the pork meat in red sauce… this was awesome in an Al-Pastor-like way. Had a nice little kick to it. I had corn tortillas across the board, and they were good, as were the 2 salsas that were included, along with a lime wedge. This would be a great take out option, but they were good enough to eat in the car. Just, please don’t order that awful Al Pastor! UPDATE: The breakfast tacos are pretty good too. Also, might not be a great option if you don’t either know what you want, or know a little Spanish.

In search of authentic tacos, my quest took me to La Canaria. I ordered three different types of tacos. Two were ok, one was really good. I really enjoyed the salsa verde. You probably won’t be disappointed, but you need to eat your tacos fast before they turn soggy.

The chicken torta was good. The beef fajita taco with corn tortilla and spicy red sauce was out of this world. Parking is a little tight so I just parked in front of the convenience store.
