I’m a fan, I typically get the breakfast tacos to go and they are always delicious. I have eaten in the restaurant a few times and the food has always been delicious and cheap. The service is always great!

Best and most authentic Mexican restaurant in Austin– trust me I’ve been to them all. Mejor y más auténtico restaurante mexicano en todo de Austin– confía en mí, llevo a todos ellos.

This place is fantastic. Initially before going to this restaurant i was very skeptical because everyone raved about how this place had god ‘cheap food’. Usually when someone says cheap the first thing that comes to mind is the food will be okay considering what you paid for it. After being a frequent customer over the years I’ve had the chance to experiment with their menu and it’s not only cheap but indeed it is also very good. My favorite Mexican restaurant in Austin by far. One of the coolest things i love about his restaurant is its history, the restaurant pictures of it dating back more then 70yrs. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well.

Great place for authentic Mexican style food and always reasonable price and above average service. I take off a star because they’re salsas(particularly the green) are a bit bland for my taste but other than that all is good.(I wish i could only take off a half star to be honest) Al Pastor taco is my fav and I had some«Dona» sauce from Tacodeli and let me tell you. it was a match made in f’n heaven! lengua is a close second and the queso is pretty damn on point. It’s a great deal if you have a family or guest as our family of five can eat well for around or under $ 25 so.

We had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and the beef chimichanga. We were very impressed with the quality of the food. It was fresh, authentic, and very well made. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to any Mexican food lover!!!

Dropped by again. Sometimes hit or miss but always enjoyable. This time at the drive up, it moved fast and correctly on the orders. Actually, faster than usual. The Lingua taco was excellent, but this time the carne guisada was not as good as I usually received. It was too dry and not up to their usual standard. The next visit I expect it will be perfect. The employees are nice and I always regret when I do not have the time to go inside and enjoy the food as I really do like chilling in the joint, especially on Sundays.

As soon as we sat down a waitress brought us chips and salsa. The salsa tasted fresh and full of flavor. We had lightning fast service. We ordered, set ourselves up for a cribbage game while we waited for our food, and then the food was there. We didn’t even have time to play the first hand. I had the tongue with green sauce and it was excellent; tender and savory. My husband had the lunch special; a steak and green pepper carnitas dish, which he said was great. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was because the barbed wire star in the bathroom was dripping dust and the waitress never came to check on us again once she served our food. But if you just talk about the food, then the place rates five stars.

This reminds me of San Antonio. Definitely love Mexican breakfast and this is the place to get it, not upscale or anything, and that’s the point. Good food good prices fast service. Location isn’t easy, but that’s how Texas and its highway system works.

Obviously, the place is not much to look at from the outside. The inside is not much better. Staff was very nice and helpful. I ordered the combo plate and chose the barbacoa and fajita beef. The meats were both pretty tasty, although I expected a little more seasoning on the barbacoa. It had a great flavor, but was so subtle that I couldn’t really taste the meat when piled on a tortilla with rice, beans and salsa. Rice and beans were pretty typical, nothing to write home about. I personally would have preferred more salsa roja and less of the spicy verde, which was really thin. This place will do in a pinch and I’ll probably just order tacos next time as the meat and tortillas were good, but there has to be better out there.

I stopped in for breakfast yesterday. I almost didnt stop just based on how it looked from the outside but I am super happy I did. Huge perk was they had a drive thru so I didnt have to get out in the rain to go get tacos. I ordered a bean and cheese, egg and Sauage taco. Both were great. The salsa was amazing. Great flavor and the green was the perfect amount of spice to it. I will be back for breakfast but I will also being trying more food from here.

I’ve been coming here for years and YUM! Get the Al Pastor plate or the menudo. Surely you won’t be disappointed! I’m pretty sure their salsa is made in house because it’s always a little different and so fresh! They have $ 2 beers and delicious horchata. Service is always excellent, friendly and fast! I do wish they had homemade flour tortillas though. P.S — there’s a drive thru!

I had a hankering for real Mexican food and Chapala delivered. I had the green chilaquiles with chicken and my husband got the tacos with eggs and chorizo and we weren’t disappointed. Real Mexican chorizo, spicy ale ell cooked salsas, and the Jamaica and horchata water were both really tasty. Will definitely come back for more!

Wonderful! This little gem has been around for a while and serves terrific chips and salsa to start. Reasonably priced, informal. I’ve heard the breakfast tacos are good but I’m not a morning person. I like the burritos, the milanesa, the various steak dishes, and my mom loved the quesadilla. This is homestyle Mexican food — you can find a few tex-mex dishes but that’s not the reason to come here. Located on the frontage road just before Y in Oak Hill, it’s a little bit hidden. This is a staple in my Mexican restaurant preferences. Nice little place with friendly service.

Great no-nonsense taqueria. Convenient location, and the drive through makes getting your mexi-fix even easier. I haven’t had anything out of the ordinary here; a pretty standard Texas Mexican restaurant. Definitely a place to stop if you are in the area and need some consistently good Mexican fare. Protip: Try the Horchata; it’s delicious.

Awesome place for good mexican food. Simple and laid back environment with both booth and chair seating. They have several flat screens showing either novellas or some mexican futbol. I have been going here for the last 8 years and have always been in the late afternoon /evening times and they have the same servers & cooks. Excellent service and very friendly people. Clean facilities too! Food is about 5 – 10 bucks and they have take out. I recommend their fajita tortas(sandwich) and the fajita burrito plate #30 Enjoy or as they say provecho!

Don’t do it. 1.On EVERY instance I or my coworkers have come here, they’ve always managed to screw up our order. It’s almost as if they do it on purpose. 2. The last time I went there I ordered through the drive through. When I opened my order to check everything TWOVERYLARGEBUGSCRAWLEDOUTOFTHEBAG. 3. On the aforementioned visit, the lady in the drive through short changed me $ 15 dollars. I had to sit and argue with her for 10 minutes before I could get my money back. DONOTDOIT. Drive a little farther and eat somewhere else. This establishment is unsanitary and the customer service is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced.
