No matter how much I’m craving a taco, this establishment consistently disappoints. How can an Austin-based Mexican food business be this poor? Very bland tacos served on an equally unimaginative white styrofoam plate by a lackluster staff. I understand why people might be tempted to eat here but after a few visits you realize the food isn’t getting any better. Pass on this one.

The food was awesome and the service fast on a Saturday morning! If you’re looking for a bunch of different Salsas they only have red and green, but the volume of food is awesome and the taste is flavorful! The only reason I gave them for stores it’s because the staff is kind of standoffish and not terribly friendly.

These are literally the most bland boring tacos I have experienced in my life, with little to no quality customer service but I continued to come here time to time due to the convenience of the drive through. Today was the last straw, I’ve had the attendant at the drive through be rude and argumentative with me about getting my order wrong on several occasions and today was no different. When my order was once again made wrong I went inside to have them remake it. The guy working the food line argued with me that he had not made my order wrong so I just asked for my money back instead. I will no longer sacrifice quality food and friendly service for convenience.

If McDonald’s served migas they would license them from taco shack. No reason at all a Texan should even bother.

Awesome food every time. Prices are fair and service is excellent. I frequent other Taco Shacks but I love my close to home one especially.

Taco shack is great for when you’re in a hurry. If you’re looking for a breakfast that’s going to knock your socks off, then go somewhere else. Taco Shack has become my, oh-my-god-i-forgot-to-eat-and-need-a-taco place. This place is cheap and quick, so really you get what you pay for, which in this case is convenience. IF you’re looking for a really good sit-down and eat breakfast, brunch or lunch place then keep moving!

Taco Shack is known for cleanliness and made-to-order tacos. This means the ingredients are not blended but the flavor is surprisingly good. The drive-though is super convenient. They have a staple mix of scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, refried beans, cheese and chorizo. The potatoes always have a good tasty scald and the chorizo doesn’t ooze grease. They have flour and corn tortillas and a bowl for low carbers. Did I mention the coffee? it’s great black but served from a thermos not a burner pot. I’ve been here twice a week since it opened and I wanted to give them props for opening a location out here. I’ve only been at lunch a couple of times and beef enchiladas are my fave.

Had a few minutes before work so I decided to find a quick bite. Taco Shack near Lakeline was the closest so I stopped in. The place was clean and nicely decorated for Halloween. The girl behind the counter was friendly and took my order quickly. I ordered the Bevo burrito and a coffee. The coffee was strong and very good. When I got the buritto it was rather large. After finishing it off with some green chilie(for a little bite) I found that it was very tasty. The eggs were not overdone and the fajita meat was tender and had a good flavor. I would DEFINETLY recommend this for anyone who is hungry in the morning and wants something filling. Stop at this location if you are in the area.

Worst tacos ever! Everything was cold, eggs, chorizo, potatoes were just disgusting. Very disappointing.

Came in at 10am on a Sunday morning. Now, I realize that the tacos are assembled to order but the ingredients aren’t cooked to order, which is fine, but everything that we ordered was lukewarm at best. 6 tacos and a plate, all of which were smothered in cold, shredded cheese which only helped to bring the temperature down even further. The flavor was fine, but for me a cold taco that you have to wait five minutes for just kills it.

Pulled through the drive thru this morning for a quick bite on my way to work. The line was long, but moved surprisingly fast. Ordered the Burnet Road Burrito. Got to the window and was unimpressed by the cashier. Very lackadaisical and uninterested. Asked me if I wanted a receipt. I had to tell him«No» several times before he could hear me. Even though I was shaking my head with my response. Strange and awkward. Not friendly service in any way. The burrito was twice the size I expected, which might be a plus for some people. It was hard to eat and had no flavor. Very bland, even the salsa didn’t help. How do you mess up eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese? It wasn’t even hot. No seasoning at all. Eggs tasted and looked like they came from a carton. Not impressed. Even my coke tasted weird. Definitely won’t be back.

Worst trip today to Taco Shack by far. Today we ordered the shack tacos and they didn’t come with cheese and there were egg shells in the eggs! Disgusting. Taco Shack it’s like you stopped caring about your customers.

Don’t go in the morning. The guy tending to the counter refuses to even try to get your order right, won’t extend his hand past his nose for payment(so you have to reach twice as far to even pay), and leaves on his headset while turning up the radio so it’s a fight to get him to even hear your order in the first place. This isn’t one time, either. This is every single time for months. I’ve finally given up. I’ll be going across the street for breakfast from now on. The tacos are great, but the morning service is unacceptable.

Cheap prices, quick service, and(breakfast) tacos that get the job done. They aren’t transcendent but they aren’t disappointing. This hits the spot when you need a breakast taco without any fuss. I’m for it.

I am an idiot. Torchy’s was packed, so I figured I’d give this place a try. The queso was that Velveeta and Ro-Tel garbage, and the chips came straight out of a bag. The burrito was wayyy overpriced, filled with beans, rice and dog food-esque carne guisada; I had ordered it with guacamole, onions and jalapeños, which a) were barely there at all, and b) didn’t help much. Man. Guadalajara is right across the street and Noble is in the same damn shopping center, but I chose Taco Shack. I am an idiot.

I was on a major Tex-Mex breakfast kick and started frequenting Aurturo’s Border Café, Taqueria Guadalajara, and Taco Shack. The convenience of a drive through at Taco Shack was very appealing because I’m generally very lazy in the mornings. Taco Shacks Breakfast Bowls became a quick and easy meal for me. The salsa is quite watered down and I think it can use some cilantro to add some interest. I became accustomed to getting my bowls filled with beans, eggs, cheese, and bacon. The eggs are scrambled and not dry. The cheese is well… similar to a shredded bag of cheese you can buy at HEB. The bacon is very small and is usually two pieces. Now the beans are plentiful and watery, my favorite. I was getting these bowls every day because it’s right down the road from my residence and I didn’t have to make a difficult decision as to where I’ll eat. Everything was going great until one day I was enjoying my bowl and a beautiful long brown hair was in my mouth and the other end was in the nicely shredded cheese. It was very delicious. I was going to give them three stars, but I knew I would find a reason why they only have two and a half stars.

The tacos need seasoning! They just don’t have much flavor. The salsa is good, but it take them several times to get our order right! It wasn’t a good lunch.

My sister and I stopped here one morning for quick breakfast tacos. The price was pretty good for the size of the tacos. They were a bit bland like they were missing salt and pepper. I wouldn’t say the breakfast was anything special but if you want a quick breakfast taco that will actually fill you up, then this is the place to check out. The drive through was fairly quick.

I’m really torn on how to rate this place, so I’ll go with a plain Jane 3 star rating. Here’s my dilemma… the breakfast tacos are super tasty but the lunch stuff is bad, so so bad! I guess I’ll go with a 3 star since that’s right down the middle. Here’s the scoop: The Good Stuff: — I’ve been here for breakfast tacos several times and I have always been happy with whatever I have chosen. The best breakfast tacos in my opinion are«The Shack» and«The Texan» tacos. The Shack is stuffed with chorizo, eggs, potatoes, and cheese. The Texan is fajita steak and eggs. Both are awesome and flavorful. I really haven’t had a bad breakfast taco here. –The tortillas are always super soft and yummy. Without a good tortilla, you can’t have a good taco! –They have a good kid’s menu. I know my kiddo is picky and doesn’t like crazy stuff, so it’s nice to be able to order her something without modifying it all over the place. Now for the bad: –The regular beef tacos are simply awful. They have absolutely no flavor and are beyond bland. I didn’t know you could make hamburger meat that I didn’t like, but you can, and it’s on this taco! The tacos at Taco Bell are far superior. Yes, you read that right. –The Barbacoa taco is so disappointing. I always get Barbacoa if it’s on the menu. I got it the first time I was here and I wanted to cry! The taco is just tortilla and meat. Nothing else! No salsa, no cheese, no everything. This would be ok if the meat had some flavor, but it doesn’t at all. You can’t even tell what you are eating by taste alone. And to top it all off, it is super oily. YUCK! –The lunch sides of rice and beans are absolutely devoid of flavor. Total disappointment from them as well. Sad face. So the morale of the story is… If you want breakfast tacos, you are in luck! If you want lunch tacos, run, run, run as fast as you can!

They have a drive-thru. They also have a name for my favorite breakfast taco. It’s called the El Niño and it consists of chorizo, refried beans, cheese and jalapeños. Well, the jalapeños aren’t how I normally order my «chorizo, bean, and cheese» breakfast tacos but it is a welcomed variation. The fact that the taco has a name makes ordering easier. Beyond the drive-thru and the«El Niño» there isn’t much else to brag about. Give them credit though these taco slingers have guts. They opened up across the street from a popular taqueria that serves a more expansive menu at maybe half the cost. The taqueria version of Taco Shack’s El Niño is a little better IMO. I’ve also had the blandest Barbacoa taco of my life at Taco Shack. I’m talking rice cake soaked in water bland. Their carne guisada taco was pretty respectable as was their beef fajita taco. In summary the place across the street serves better quality food at half the cost. Taco Shack has a drive-thru. Never underestimate the power of convenience over a lazy society.
