Just paid $ 30 for intestinal distress. Do NOT get the spicy tuna! It smelled super fishy(aka old) but I hate wasting food so ate it anyway. That was my own damn mistake and boy am I paying for it. The rest of the food wasn’t much better. The escolar was waterlogged and dripping and the salmon skin was like shoe leather. They have uni on the menu but that’s a lie. I have eaten here a few times and they never have it in stock so don’t even bother trying to order it. They said they sometimes get it on the weekends.

The wife and I wanted a place close to our hotel for dinner so when we saw this place was having their happy hour and it was only 1 mile from our hotel, we took a trek to this place for some yummy sushi. When we got there, the restaurant was about half full and the waiters and hostess was nowhere to be seen. This should’ve been our sign to leave, but we were too hungry to go anywhere else. After a few minutes, we saw two waiters and was seated by one of them. We realized this place was way too busy for two waiters and two sushi chefs to run so we ordered our drinks and food right away. This was when the terrible wait time and service started. I timed everything: Drinks — took about 15 mins for our waters and my beer. Appetizers — took a total of 35 mins for our appetizers to come out(at different times) Entrees — Our first sushi roll came out about 20 mins after the last appetizers. At about the 1 hour and 30 mins mark, I asked about the other two rolls. The waiter went to check on it and came back with some kind of excuse that it could take a few more mins to come out because they were missing ingredients for one of the rolls. I just couldn’t take the slow service anymore and asked for the check and paid. After 1 hour and 45 mins at the restaurant, we ate 3 small appetizers and one sushi roll. The wife and I stopped by Target to get us instant noodles afterwards to fill ourselves up before we call it a night. First time here and will definitely never be back.

Delivery time sucked. When I called to see about the food 20 minutes past the delivery time they checked with the driver who was just hanging out at the gate instead of trying to call me to get in. Food was alright. Got the Philadelphia Maki Roll and the Louisiana Maki Roll. Tasty, but nothing truly amazing.

Food was good but service SUCKED! We were satay 6:10, didn’t get to order till 6:35 because they seated a group with is that was waiting on friends… They should not seat incomplete parties. Two other tables were sat and served before us… And we were the only table there when we arrived… Not happy!!!

Favorite place in town. Ever time I walk in I’m greeted like Norman at Cheers. The staff are so super awesome. They remember you, they remember what U like to order, they treat you like family. The food is superb and the prices are reasonable. Downright a steal if you go at Happy Hour.

Udon soup was kind of tasteless. we also ordered chicken katsu and miso soup and the soup is absolutely tasteless. I haven’t tried the sushi but honestly I wouldn’t think it’s good either.

Cannot express how impressed I am with the food and service here at Sushi Japon. The waiter was very attentive and the chef very entertaining. The food was excellent, we had sushi and items off the grill. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for good food and good service.

Their happy hour was amazing. Probably one of the best I ever had. Our server was very friendly and always made sure we were well taken care of during our visit. I recommend that anyone who visits try the shaggy dog roll, it was music to my mouth. I will definitely be coming back again

This place was close to our hotel so we decided to try it out. It was a Friday night about 8 or 9 o’clock. It’s a very nice clean environment. There was only one other couple in there besides us. We ordered the sashimi and it tasted pretty good. The service was good. No complaints but nothing totally amazing either.

We love your food and kind accommodating service, but I won’t give 5 stars because I cracked my tooth on a small rock inside a piece of broccoli in the sesame chicken, and management didn’t even apologize! Please be sure to wash your broccoli more thoroughly. This cracked tooth has become an increasing expense to fix. This is only one of two restaurants we can order from because of my wife’s allergies. We want to be on good terms, but it is a restaurant’s responsibility to provide safe, edible food to the customer. They won’t acknowledge receipt of any of our messages. I wish management would acknowledge the danger of not thoroughly washing broccoli so this doesn’t happen again!

rude! Unintelligent! And not Japanese. Will never ever go here again and neither should you. Want to learn more read on. Went here to pick up my to go order I ended up being there a total of 45 min. And no they were not busy. I had ordered the katsu chicken which is supposed to come with to tonkatsu sauce which I requested extra of over the phone. When I got there there was no sauce at all in the bag. I told the to go waitress and she came back with some weird clear liquid with onions in it that tasted like fish. I told her that this wasn’t tonkatsu sauce I told her it is supposed to be dark brown. she informed me that she was new, didn’t know what it was and that is the sauce they gave her. She then requested that I pull up it up on my phone so she could tell her manager. This lady was very sweet but very much an airhead. The manager was straight up rude! He said he knows what sauce it is and that they don’t have it. He never apologized. I told well I don’t want the meal because it doesn’t have the right sauce. My bill was $ 42 btw. So I changed my order to something close in price. It was approximately three dollars more he then asked me for my credit card so he could fix the difference. I told him I figured we call it even considering my order was messed up and I’ve been here for over 30 min. He said nothing so I told him to just refund my money and take the food back. At the end the to go waitress returned my card to me and said she was told to tell me that he was to busy to talk to me and that he was the chef.

I LOVE Sushi Japon! Veggie Tempura=MMMMMM! So great! Lightly coated and fried sweet potato and broccoli will make you fall over. The veggie lovers g=hibachi is also wonderful. Watch out, they will assume you want tofu if you do not say otherwise, I hate tofu so I always have to send it away. I really love this place, better than other hibachi spots in town!

In my opinion, this place has the best prices for the quality in Austin. I’ve checked out sushi prices across the city, and this place is definitely reasonable. The quality & freshness are ONPOINT as well, so for me, its a win. The sushi is delicious, especially the Rockin Roll! The seaweed salad is my favorite that I’ve had because it is made with both seaweed and cucumber, super refreshing. Their selection of maki rolls is much like what you would find at most sushi restaurants, so there are plenty of options. The staff is friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be back!

Ok so This place delivers to my door. In less than an hour. Its exquisite. I do eat at the actual brick and mortar. When I do, its for the sushi happy hour. I do not know what the food from the kitchen is like– but the nigiri and rolls are all well made, generous, and fresh. Only reason for one less star: Not a lively atmosphere and a little shabby. Despite that, incredibly nice & helpful staff, great service, reasonable price.

I just moved here from Dallas less than a month ago and was exploring downtown and I was definitely hungry for SUSHI! I knew of one place that was on my way back home up IH-35. Missing my exit, I saw a divine sign! HAPPYHOUR! (4−7 Sun. — Fri.)! I sooo did a U-Turn! It was pretty much dead when I arrived, minus a couple that walked in minutes later. The staff was VERYFRIENDLY, especially my hostess/waitress, Vivian(I believe that was her name) — totally recommend her service. She always arrived and left with a smile when I needed anything. Happy Hour was pretty great, as far as selections! From $ 2 – 4 Beers/Sake specials to $ 3 – 4 appetizers/sushi and a dozen varieties of $ 4 Regular Rolls to $ 8 Specialty Rolls. I had: 2 x Kirin Beer 1 x Crab Puffs(like Crab Ragoon) 1 x Rock and Roll — Roll 1 x Philly Roll 1 x Spider Roll 1 x Fried Banana/Ice Cream ALLLESSTHAN $ 25 = SOWORTHIT, I will be a returning customer! DOMOARIGATOGOZAIMASU!

Sushi Japon has become a place me and the boy frequent quite a bit after work due to location on our way home and the great HH deals. $ 2 Pints(Kirin Included) $ 3 Wine $ 5 Large Sake… Yes I will take one of each please. Really this place is good– We always sit at the sushi bar and have gotten to know some of the staff. Super Friendly– plus the waitress has our drink order memorized to get us started. The food is also good– We generally pick off the HH menu again while we are there. The Specialty rolls are quite good and we always make a point to order a Sashimi we haven’t had yet. I can’t speak for the Hibachi side of the restaurant– I haven’t dined on that side. I have just watched from my cool spot at the Sushi Bar. Anyways– If you’re in the area before 7 check it out– Its worth a stop to sample a few things and then you can decide for yourself.

I live within walking distance to Sushi Japon, and I’m relatively picky about my sushi, and Chinese food so I never stopped by until the other day. My mom and I ordered take out, and I got the Orange Chicken with fried rice, and she got a Veggie Delight with Kung Pao sauce. Service: great — my food was hot and ready to go when I arrived. Atmosphere/inside: super clean, kinda dark, though. Everything is black or brown and the lighting is low. Food: absolutely fantastic. They put chili peppers in both of our sauces, which is always great, and the fried rice was fantastic! I usually strongly dislike rice, but it was pretty damn good, so 10⁄10 there. The only issue I had was the orange chicken being a bit too big to actually bit into — I had to knife most of my portions, but that’s alright. My mom’s Kung Pao was awesome, and the sauce had just enough kick to it without being overtly spicy. Overall, I’d give it a 9⁄10. Really great!
