Every time I come here, I am greeted with a smile and pleasant attitude by all of the employees. I am especially impressed with Eli’s customer service, as he always remembers my name and my drink order. This Starbucks efficiently goes through a line of 20 people in 5 or so minutes during the busy lunchtime hour.

This is my typical go-to spot for a chai tea latte(iced when it’s warm outside, hot when it’s cold). Usually I have issues, no problems whatsoever. This morning was, in the words of Grumpy Cat, awful. I ordered a grande chai tea latte, non-fat milk, hot. The cashier takes my order, swipes my card, doesn’t offer a receipt. Doesn’t ask my name for the cup, even though it’s a bit busy(though not overwhelming). I think nothing of either as I settle in to wait with a book while keeping an ear out for my name. More people arrive, more drinks are ordered, and those who showed up after me get theirs in minutes. I check the time. 10 minutes. I’m patient. 15 minutes. What? OK, I’ve had enough. I can’t get anyone’s attention due to how busy it is now so I go through the line. «Hi, what can I get started for you today?» ” I ordered a grande chai latte with nonfat milk…” the cashier starts to write on a cup… «…20 minutes ago and I already paid for it.» Deer in headlights, and the person who appears to be in charge stops to listen. «Uh, what was your name?» I give it to them. They check the massive amount of cups in line for the single barista, and none have my name or order. Of course not. They’re a bit unsure what to do, and decide they’ll just make the drink. «You know what, just forget it,» I say, «even though I’ve already paid, I don’t want it now.» They hand me two coupons for a free drink and mumble an apology. I leave, frustrated. *If* I use these coupons, it’ll be at the one over at 24th street, the SAC, or elsewhere. I’ve had minor mess ups at the Union Starbucks before, but it’s not being managed very well. I’ll get my beverages on the west side of campus elsewhere now. Maybe that coffee robot… TL;DR — Union Starbucks took my order, my time, and money, never made my drink. Coupons and a mumbled apology in return.

WARNING: the sign says«starbucks» but it’s not really owned by starbucks. So…any birthday/starbucks promotions will NOT be honored here. Also, if you have starbucks credits on your smartphone you’ll have to read off the 16 or however many numbers code to the cashier or they will have to input it themselves. Since this is in the middle of the Union, lines are long and take a good while before you can get your drink. I’d advise going to the starbucks on 24th. It’ll take the same amount of time for you to walk there, wait in line, order and get your drink as you would if you ordered here. The service is decent and the coffee is the same, I think the workflow/workload of this place just isn’t appealing especially if you’re trying to get a quick drink in between classes.

Two main reasons for this location’s two star rating: 1) they won’t honor electronic rewards(e.g. birthday drink, gold star reward drink). The reasoning I’m told: they don’t have a system to scan the code. 2) they typically don’t recognize Starbucks promotions. The reasoning I’m told: this Starbucks is run by ARAMARK so they don’t have to. Other notables: — Lines are often long, which shouldn’t be a surprise since it’s in the student union, but it typically moves pretty fast. — I haven’t had any customer service issues, like others have mentioned; however, I agree that the short trip to the 24th St. location will give you a much better customer experience. I’d be happy to increase my rating if this Starbucks honored awards and promotions like all the other ones do.

Awful. Take 5 minutes and walk over to the Starbucks on 24th and San Antonio(my favorite Starbucks actually). This Starbucks barely honors ‘normal’ Starbucks procedures and very rarely participate in the promotions. If you want to quickly get a cup of joe, avoid this one because you better be prepared to wait in a pretty long line.

OK, so University staff, students, and visitors alike all drink coffee. Sometimes Unilocal is the quickest way to locate an institution at which to get a buzz fix. Sure, Starbucks has a «locator» app(is it specialized for the iPhone yet… if not, I am sure it will be). Sure, word of mouth is good. But… why not utilize Unilocal to find Starbucks and to get around your caffeine joints. This one is housed in the go-to campus meeting spot, The all-famous Union. Check it out.

This is the Starbucks in the UT Student Union. That says it all. Compared to the other restaurants there(Quiznos, etc.), it is clean, friendly and fast. Even when the line is literally out the door — seems everyone requires an iced nonfat soy something for their morning lectures — I’ve never had to wait too long to be served. This is Starbucks at its fast-food assembly-line best. And it’s my favorite coffee house on campus. But if you’re looking for a place to pull up a chair, smile at familiar faces and bask in tracks from Ingrid Michaelson’s newest album, you’d better head elsewhere. This Starbucks is for those who’re late for class. Not those who’re off for the afternoon.

I frequent this Starbucks location because of its proximity to my daily route to/from the bus. I enjoy the atmosphere and the music is usually better than other Starbucks locations I’ve visited. But really, who goes to Starbucks for the music? Each employee is friendly and eager to serve, and remembers who I am every time I walk in. It’s nice to get a little dose of sunshine, both in my coffee cup and in my brief visits to Starbucks.

This Starbucks has the WORST customer service of any Starbucks I have ever been to for the following reasons 1. I come in every morning and order the same thing; 2 grande house coffees with room and a drink holder. This has been ongoing for 4 months now. They NEVER remember and it’s the same two people every time. Every other Starbucks I have gone to I get to know my baristas and they remember me… and I tip accordingly. Here they are worthless 2. I tried to order a Venti Ice Water and they said we can only do Tall. I said«No, I want ice.» They said«You can get bottled water.» I said«I want ice water, can you ring me up for like a tea or coffee or something I“ll pay for it.» Their response«No.» My response«Forget it then.» I will NEVER come back to this Starbucks. I will take the extra 5 minutes to walk to the 24th& San Antonio Starbucks where they give impeccable customer service.
