So i’m wildly biased because this is one of the few bars I go to downtown anymore and I love /know all the staff … but I like live music, I like tx country, I like cold beer and whiskey, I like friendly patrons and staff and I like big ass patios. It checks my boxes.

Amazing roof top bar away from the chaos of 6th street! We went on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, cheap beers, and great conversations with the owner/bartenders! We did not eat do can’t speak for the food but will definitely be back!

My review is based entirely on the ambiance and staff. I stopped in only to smoke a cigar rooftop. Ended up staying and people watching– corn hole matches and a giant Connect Four tableside game made me smile and realize I was in the right place. I we think to order a beer, forgetting I had worn my BFM t-shirt, so the bartender suggested a tasty local IPA, but wouldn’t let me pay, ensuring the beer was«on him» for fellow KCCO enthusiasts. Saw the chef bring out multiple tasty treats ensuring each guest was happy. All around a fun, enjoyable watering hole just north and a street over from the zoo that is 6th Street.

Whiskey Wednesday’s, live music, outdoor patio, bartender stories, longhorn brisket nachos(food til 2 am!?), what more could you want? If you’re not here, you’re doing somethin wrong. Great local hangout if you’re searching for 6th st atmosphere with a small town feel. Great service, great atmosphere, & a great time. ~~Katy

Great live music, but horrible service. This is my first time stopping in when I heard fantastic music from the street, but the wonder stopped there. I ordered one beer and it tasted spoiled with a dirty glass, and when we informed the bartender she said that’s how it’s supposed to taste and walked away. Come for the music and drink the water.

Awesome place anytime of day, the bartender was full of great facts for things to do and the chicken tacos were on point!

Had a great experience during a Bar Crawl Nation event two weeks ago. Staff was super friendly and beer selection was great. The rooftop patio is a really nice space with hanging lights and customers playing cornhole. Live music is also a plus. I highly recommend.

Amazing setup for watching a game on the second floor and a big open space with benches on the roof(another bar as well). Bar deserves 5 stars for the setup but very few people there on a Thursday. Food was really bad, seemed like microwaved quesadilla and pepperoni rolls.

Katie D is so full of shit. Just because the other bars didn’t do their job, how can you talk shit about the one bouncer who did? I know that bouncer, he’s a good dude. He’s isn’t disrespectful unless you started it. If there was anything he could have done to let your friends in, he would have. Especially since he was military. Don’t try and fuck up someone’s business just because you’re a bitch and you’re friends were stupid enough to bring an expired ID to an event that revolves around drinking. Stupid bitch. Your Unilocal review is invalid.

Awesome Awesome Awesome. Owner makes a point to make sure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. He is like your best friend and you are hanging out in his backyard. The upstairs patio is so much fun. They have games, tvs, and picnic tables. Their new menu does not disappoint either. I am a super picky eater I can’t seem to find anything on their menu I don’t like! My go to is the Chicken Nachos. White meat chicken, no fat or nasty pieces, just deliciousness :) If you are looking for a local relaxed bar with great food and an even better atmosphere, check out Shiner Saloon!

This Saloon is Awesome and we will be back! The food was delicious and they played an endless stream of Texas music and red dirt music. The service is fast and friendly as well. We sat upstairs on the patio and enjoyed a comfortable Austin spring night.

Before I write a review, I like to read a few just to see what I should address. I almost died laughing when I read about the«Creepy Colonel Sanders» statue. How do you not recognize Jack Daniels? His name is on the bottom of the statue. To the girl who supposedly reads lips, at least the bartender waited to walk away before allegedly insulting you(which you probably deserved for being an insufferable bitch). Shoutout to the birthday party getting kicked out for using flash on their camera. That’s the most bullshit story I’ve ever heard. Now on to my review. Let’s start with the food. The food is good when you’re sober(I suggest getting queso with the pepperoni rolls) and out-fucking-standing after a few drinks. Now on to the booze. The whiskey selection is on point, even though they still can’t score a bottle of Pappy, but not many people can so I don’t blame them for that one. The vodka selection is vast, especially for a country bar. Tequila and rum collection are pretty good. Gin choices are somewhat limited, but that’s for girly men anyways. Then there’s beer. You want it, they got it. All the Shiner beers ONTAP! Plus some more delicious beers. They’ve got a patio for smoking or just being outside in general. The staff is amazing. The cooks crank out food rather quickly for being in such a confined space, the bartenders know how to pour a drink that fits your palette, and the door guys are quick to give you information or direction about just about anything close by. I’d give this bar 6⁄5 stars if possible. I’m mistaken! They have Pappy 10 year! HEAVEN!

Came in during the arts part of SXSW. Not a lot of people in at 9:15p, but it still seemed chill enough. $ 6 for a Circle Blur(microbrew), which I suppose isn’t overpriced, considering you are downtown. I liked it, but probably won’t hurry back, since now I’m hooked on cheapo dive bars. $ 3 per drink is now more my fancy. Dirty 6th, perhaps?

FUNPLACE! Great music & very friendly! We had margaritas, chips & salsa and very much enjoyed the music they were playing that afternoon. The bar/eatery is upstairs which is sometimes intimidating to those just out walking around but we decided to give it a try and it was a total hoot! Would definitely go back when we visit Austin again. The waiter made us feel comfortable and gave us some tips on what to order.

Best ever local country bar… Look like University of Texas kids but they can jam. Who cares that they are in converse?! Love this place. I’d be here a lot. My people! Sign says… ‘Home of horseshoes and hand grenades!‘ And the harmonica player has a foot trampoline… Yep. So much fun two steppin’

Shouts out to the chef for making the most orgasmic, enjoyable nachos ever known to mankind. Clutch. Also, dollar whiskeys on Wednesdays. Good atmosphere, better drinks. Come for the nachos, stay for the whiskey. –CHEERS
