I have been going to Sherryl a little over a year and have been completely satisfied. I have gotten lots of compliments on my hair since I have been going to her. For instance, my brother had never commented on my hair until last Christmas when he said that he liked my hair. I was pleasantly surprised. My nephew and sister-in-law complimented me on my hair Thanksgiving and Christmas. Prior to that, though, my husband and most of the ladies in my bunco group complimented me the very first time Sherryl cut and styled my hair. My husband even took my picture. I have also gotten many other compliments. I had been going across town for many years and I am so glad that I started going to Sherryl, which is right here in my Onion Creek neighborhood just minutes away from my house. Her sister Apryl works with her and does excellent work also. If you try either one of them I don’t think you will be disappointed. Jan B.

Loved my hair cut, loved the staff, loved the environment — laid back and friendly and yet, very available. Very professional staff, easy to talk to. I felt like Sherryl listened to what I wanted. I will definitely go back.

Went today for the first time, just moved in the area. Sherryl and her sister April were both awesome! $ 15 is a bargain, I hadn’t gotten my haircut in a while since i’d been growing it out and they did a great job trimming it and adding some texture to it, Only reason they’re not getting four stars is because it’s cash and check only, which isn’t that big of a deal. Definitely will be going here for haircuts instead of birds barbershop!

April was awesome & very friendly. Sherryl was cutting another person’s hair but introduced herself and chatted with me as well. I will be going back there again and think even my hubby would like it. Great job ladies!

Will NOT go back & will NOT recommend this place. Okay so I’m from CA and I came to TX to visit my family and I wanted to get a sew-in so I came to this place because of all the great reviews it had. Worst decision I made. I went in on a Saturday. I had an appointment at 12:30pm with April but then she called me to go in at 1:00pm because she had over-booked herself. When I talked to her over the phone I told her it was my first time getting a sew-in at a hair salon and I had a lot of questions so she told me that we would have a small consultation when I got there. So I went in at 1 and she helped me right away. I sat down and we began having small talk about how it was going to happen but she basically wasn’t really saying much and was not really explaining anything clear at all and when I would ask her a question she would answer really rudely. .What consultation??? So she began to do my hair and she was not talking to me at all. It was kind of awkward so I was on my phone the whole entire time. As she was doing my hair she would stop and work on other clients.(She did apologize for over booking herself but I ended up getting out of there almost at 6pm!) So she dyed my hair… and all of my skin too! The hair dye was all over my face! … I mean I’m just going to cut this short, she messed up my sew in too. I had to call her back until Tuesday and I asked her to fix it for me. She didn’t take enough of my own hair out to cover the tracks. So I went in on Tuesday and I showed her how I wasn’t able to pull my hair up in a pony and she said to me that I could pull it in a low pony instead… ?? I said no and I asked her to redo it. I may not know as much as other girls about weaves but I did my research and I know enough! Braids were ALREADY loose and the sides were sticking out it looked like I had horns on my head. So she began to take the whole mess down and since she was taking more of my own hair out she had to dye it so it could match the color of my hair extensions. AGAIN, the dye got ALLOVERME. Not only on my face but on my back, my leg, my arm, and my purse! …She had forgotten to put a towel under the cape before she started to dye my hair. Again she apologized but that was it. I had to go in on Wednesday so she could start the sew-in. I had my appointment at 9:30 and she didn’t get there till 10am. I was sitting there for 30min just looking around and I noticed bugs crawling around on the floor. But anyway, She began to do my hair at 10am and right when she was about to be done she ran out of thread! She had to go to the store to buy thread and come back to finish me up… How unprofessional is that? I ended up leaving that place at around 12:30 ish. When I got home I noticed my scalp was red and I thought it was going to go away but the next day my head was killing me(still is) .she braided my hair too tight this second time. And right now I’m debating wether I should take it out or not. Either way it’s still not done right because when I put my hair up some of my edges still stick out. And just so you guys know. I obviously paid her to dye my hair and some parts of my hair are still blonde. Worst hair salon experience I’ve ever had. This visit was NOT worth $ 235. I think this hair salon is NOT for people that want to just walk in and try a new stylist. This hair salon seems like it’s only for frequent clients. ***Might I state, there was a young man getting his hair cut too and he left VERY unsatisfied.

I don’t care if you have very elaborate cut and color needs(like I do) or if you just need a trim. Male or female. Young or not-so-young. Rich or just squeaking by. Sherryl will take good care of you and you will leave looking better than when you came in. She is a consummate professional. In addition to her amazing skill, Sherryl is incredibly positive and it simply feels GOOD to be in her salon. She knows how to be there for her clients and you will leave feeling better than when you came in(and your pocketbook will hardly know the difference). Sherryl believes everyone should look and feel their best. Her haircuts are $ 15 but are as good(or better) as any I have ever had. Color prices are incredibly reasonable. I defy you to find this kind of quality for anything close to what she charges. Sherryl is wonderful. Give her a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I justices back to austin about a month ago, and really needed my hair done. These reviews really helped. I found one place but they were closed all of the following week, and I needed my hair done like yesterday. So I found Sherrly’s cuts. They take walk-ins. April worked on my hair and did a fantastic job. They are very professional as well. I am an African-American female, and she did a relaxer and a cut. Both in a timely manner. … And let’s just say my hair was really bad. So Thank you. Go and give them a shot.

Sherryl had to raise her prices. Haircuts are now $ 15. I know that is steep for some people, but if you can afford it, then go see Sherryl. She knows hair. My daughter and I have oddly difficult bone straight hair. And we have been going to Sherryl for about a year for our trimming needs. I have never walked out of there unhappy. Last week my kiddo decided she wanted layers. We found a beautiful picture of Natalie Portman with some lovely layers, and took it to Sherryl’s on Good Friday. We walked out of there an hour later(there was a bit of a wait), and she was the happiest teenager I’ve ever seen. She couldn’t love her hair more. And it cost $ 15. Seriously, go see Sherryl. Do it. Your hair and your wallet will thank you.

I was going to Super Cuts in Southpark Meadows, but my favorite stylist left so I decided to try Sherryl’s based on the Unilocal reviews. I was able to walk right in and get my hair and wig cut(I wear wigs when I’m too lazy to flat iron and style my own) for $ 30. Gloria cut my hair and explained everything as she did it. I also asked her about other services(sew in extensions and roller sets) and those are well priced as well. The only thing is they take cash or checks only, so be prepared. I was able to walk to the bank next door and use the ATM. I found a new place!

I’ve been using Sherryl for a couple of years now, and she’s been great every time. She always manages to fit me in when I call, and the haircuts are great. She spends the right amount of time with me; not too long, but not too quick either.

After moving further south in Austin, I started looking for a new, or at least alternative, stylist. Thanks to Unilocal,I found Sherryl’s shop. She and her sister, Gloria, are a great team. In the couple of hours I sat in Gloria’s chair getting a relaxer, Sherryl had to have seen 12 or more clients. She’s a skilled and fast barber. Gloria was a great stylist and I was very happy with the results. Yes, the ladies are African-American and so am I. However, in response to other Unilocalers, this isn’t a «black» salon. Sherryl and Gloria’s clients are of every ethnicity and have every type of hair. The shop has the feel of a comfortable neighborhood spot. I am happy I found it. As an African-American woman, I have to be careful with who I let apply what chemicals to my hair. Relaxers are very powerful and if not properly handled can result in the loss of all my hair and/or burning of my scalp. Also, a lot of black women’s hair does not grow as fast as other ethnicity’s. If my hair is made short(by choice or fault), it can take years, possibly decades to grow it back, not just months. My beautician doesn’t need to be black but he/she does need to UNDERSTAND and be familiar with black hair. Thankfully, Gloria and Sherryl are.

You’re NOT going to find a better price anywhere else.$ 12 dollar haircuts(You couldn’t beat that with 4 aces) My wife has given Sherryl’s, a stamp of Approval. Her words“It’s nice and even… Best, I’ve seen in a long time”. There was a guy before me getting a Marine«High and Tight» and here I thought,“This’ll be quick”. It was an attention to detail job, is what it was. I went for the business man’s cut. I love how Sherryl takes pride in her work. I counted 5 people on what I thought was going to be a slow time of day. They definitely have a good referral/repeat business. In Summary, Best Haircuts, Best Price, Best Service. «Hear ye», «hear ye», Let it be known that I will go a month without a haircut, if I can’t get it cut by Sherryl’s.

Sherryl’s Cuts is still the best… and now it’s even better because I can get my hair colored and highlighted, too! Always professional, always clean, always friendly and cuts are always $ 12. The color and highlights were priced very reasonably. As for reviewer Delores — - Shame on you… first for being a racist and second for posting a review for a service you didn’t receive. Do us all a favor and keep your ugliness to yourself.

Tried it out because I was short on time, and am a regular now. Took my overly picky 13 year old for his haircut and now he will go no where else. I get a standard mens haircut and have been pleased each time, while my son gets the ball fade. Relaxed atmosphere and easy to get in and out.

First let me state that I have my 1600 hours of cosmetology training. This means I can take the cosmetology exam and get my cosmetology license. Based on the reviews here I visited Sherryl’s. No one mentioned that this is a black salon. For those of you who this does not matter, fine. For those of you that it does matter, now you know. All the stylist are African American, the patrons were white during my visit. Regarding a previous posting here, there was a child in the salon. Obviously a child of one of the stylist’s. The interior décor is sparse. The salon is in a decent neighborhood, in a small but nice strip mall. I watched the stylists as I waited my turn. Sherryl kept cutting the patron’s hair over & over, trying to perfect the haircut. In one place on the back of his head, his hair stuck straight out. From my training, this is because the hair was cut too short. Based on everything above, I decided to leave. Now, I won’t say that the cut she gave the gentleman was a bad cut. But when I took everything into account, I didn’t feel confident about her cutting my hair or the salon.

I use Unilocal all the time. I never had an account until now. I decided I needed to let people know about this AWESOME find, and to get some people to visit Sherryl. My mom came to visit and wanted to get her hair cut, so I looked on Unilocal and saw the great reviews and decided to check her out. It was easy because when I called she was free so we went right away. My mom was a little uneasy with having a new person cut her hair so I told her I would go first. I was absolutely AMAZED. She is awesome. I usually go back to my home town to get my hair done, and pay 7−10X as much for a haircut that is sub-par compared to this one. My mom was so impressed that she got hers done too. Super pleased with the results, and there’s no way you can beat the price. BRINGCASH.
