This is another one of my Farmers Market staples. I met JP several years ago at the Sunset Valley Farmers Market — which recently changed to the SFC Farmers Market(still in Sunset Valley). I started slow… hot sauce. I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to heat… and he has a lot of those — but he also as an «Ancho Mama» hot sauce — made from Ancho chile… flavorful and delicious. He says on the label«hot sauce that’s not.» Later I moved to pestos… he has so many to choose from traditional, lemon basil. and my personal favorite — pumpkin-chipoltle. These are just a few flavors… there are many more. You can use them on pasta, for meats… I really love to use them to make polenta. I am a weekly fan of his hummus. He brings different varieties each week — and you can check his Facebook fan page to see what is current( ). My personal favorites are Hatch Chick(made from Hatch green chile), Black Bean, and Roasted Red Bell Hummus. He also sells salsas, sauces and rubs. I frequently give these as gifts when I am traveling to see family and they do not disappoint. You can find some, but not the entire selection, of his delicious products at Central Markets, Whole Foods, and Spec’s Liquor stores… for the complete offering — go and see him at Sunset Valley… you cannot miss his tie-dye shirts.
