Worst Service Ever! They don’t show up when they say they are going to, they don’t return calls or emails. Do yourself a favor and go local on this job.

We have had nothing but frustration with Scott’s Lawn Service. I finally fired them after they left my gate open, yet again, allowing my dog to find her way into busy traffic. I called SEVERAL times to ask them to PLEASE ask the technician to ensure the gate was closed. Seems pretty intuitive for people who work on residential lawns for a living, right? Each time I called the office to ask them to pass along info to my tech, they apologized and said they would have someone call me. No one EVER called me back. Obviously no one really cares about customer service. The third time in a row that they left my gate open (even after calling the day BEFORE my service to have them make a reminder note for the technician) I called to cancel our service. Again, I was told that someone would call and speak with me. Guess what? I’m not sure anyone is actually in charge at Scott’s Lawn. Very unprofessional!

They were great in the other city that we lived in, but AWFUL here. They don’t come out when they say they will– you have to call them to set it up apparently because they cannot do their job. I am pretty sure the kid doing our yard only went over a few laps and left. Our weeds are OUT OF CONTROL.
They are awful here in Austin– stay away from Scotts.

Wow, ok amazing follow-​up. I received a bill from Scott’s on Saturday in the amount of $ 87.00 with a $ 7.18 late fee for aeration of my lawn. Which, as you know, never happened. Not only was I gobsmacked by the fact that their billing department has no idea what services are being performed, but also stunned with the late fee. Where was the first bill? When was I supposed to pay for not receiving any service? Who knows? Scotts continues to top themselves in being the worst lawn business I’ve ever dealt with. Congrats Scotts.

Count me in on those reviews, as well. I used them for a bout 6 months and each time when they came out and sprayed the lawn, I could swear that they were using nothing but water. No apparent change in the lawn in 6 months. In fact, it was deteriorating. One thing is for sure, though: the service technician never failed to present me with a bill for their lawn services. What a waste of my time and money.

I agree 100%. I had scheduled a lawn aeration for the front yard. When their rep called to confirm I asked him if they could do the backyard as well. He replied that they could, and quoted me a new rate to aerate both.
When their technician showed up a week later to do the work, he refused to do the back yard since it was not on his work order. Fine, I said, just do the front. He went to work and proceeded to cut my TV cable in the process. When I called the office to complain they assured me that this happened all the time and to have the cable company come out and fix it, and Scott’s would deduct the fees from my bill. He also assured me that I would not be billed for the work in the backyard, since it was not done.
A week later I got the bill, which still included the amount for the backyard. Again I called their office and got the runaround and excuses about the billing. When I asked about deducting the cable fees I was told that they never pay for that kind of thing, it was up to me to foot the bill myself. I supplied the name of the person who told me Scott’s would pay, along with the date and time of our conversation. This made no difference, I was told they were not going to reimburse me even though the other person assured me they would. I was assured that the backyard work would be deducted from my bill.
When the bill arrived, it still included the backyard aeration that had not been done. At that point I called their office and cancelled the service. When asked why, I brought up the cable cutting incident again, and began to get an argument from their rep, at which point I hung up.
Do not do business with these people. They give the appearance of being professionals but don’t deliver the goods.

Scott’s Lawnservice had a GREAT brochure. They sent me a glossy brochure that showed all of the services they could bring to my yard — right when we need them. The guy that came out to give the sales pitch was also very good.
We signed up.
The service was terrible. A visit, which cost us the better part of $ 100 per month was about 8 minutes in duration. They guy had a hand spreader and he put pellets around (small volume of pellets…). These pellets did not do anything noticeable for our yard.
A big section of our yard died off due to a disease that they were covering us for. We asked them to come out and check, and the manager promised to do so repeatedly, but never came.
We cancelled.
They came the next day and billed again.
We called and complained. They promised to remove the charge.
We got billed again with a late warning the next month.
We called again and complained. More promises.
We got billed again the next month.
We called AGAIN.
The next month we got a collections notice.
Do I need to keep writing?
AVOID THESE GUYS. NOTHING BUT TROUBLE.
