my wife and i purchased a pair each. my wife was NEVER ever to wear hers longer than a few hours, without terrible comfort issues. returned several times to be fixed and NEVER corrected. glasses sit in drawer reminding my wife that she will NEVER go here again. i have had mine, with repairs done twice at my expense, for over three years. continue to get compliments! since these cost us each over $ 1200, their customer service is less than satisfactory.

Yes expensive. Yes worth it. If you wear glasses that is the first thing people see. Have had many people stop me to ask me questions about my glasses! Love my glasses and received awesome service.

I would never reccomend Santa Fe after my experience. I paid over $ 800 for glasses that I can’t wear. I wear progressive lenses and they weren’t measured correctly and I talked to manager and she talked to owner and both said to bad. I am so angry! I’m used to paying that for glasses but expect them to be correct. When you think about it how could they be fitted correctly when they fit you standing up. They don’t even have you sit like a regular eye glass place. Plus the workmanship was terrible. Mine were rimless and the edges were all rough. I then asked around and was told to try Eye Phys. of Austin they were professional and I paid another $ 800 but I can see out of them. I was beginning to think it could be me but it wasn’t.

When I spend $ 1,000.00 on a pair of glasses, I expect some concern when I break them. Truthfully, I bought the most beautiful pair of glasses I’ve ever owned, with great anti-glare, scratch-resistant lenses, at Santa Fe Optical a couple of years ago. I stepped on them several weeks ago and went in, desperate for help because the hinge was unusual and the repair shop I’ve used didn’t have it. The guy who«helped» me was less than enthusiastic, to put it euphemistically, and after he said he made a phone call, he assured me there was no place to obtain this special hinge. Well, I have news — there is: It is eyewear repairexpress in Atlanta, and you can mail them your glasses for a quick turnaround. That is the website, their number is 800−314−8023; email . I notice they have wholesale accounts, and you would think a high-end store like Santa Fe Optical would be aware of this kind of service for their customers. I suspect they thought they would just sell me another pair of very expensive glasses. Nope. There are other stores in Austin with beautiful eyewear. They will not have repeat business from me.

Here is my experience with this business: Go in, find two to three pairs of glasses I love, retail help finally comes over to see if he can help me(snobby), I am guessing since I am Westlake I did not look the part with my running shorts, tshirt, tennies. Anyway, I finally find the one pair I can’t part with, ask him the price which was steep, but doable. He goes over starts typing into his computer, next thing I know he say $ 545, ouch! How did it go from $ 200 to $ 545, he slowly lets me know the extras I must have to get them. I said«sorry that is way too expensive.» Left as fast as I could, eventually got a cheaper pair at my optician’s office that my insurance helped cover. if you have a ton of money and want a great pair of glasses go here, but otherwise there are other options, and this office in particular could use some customer service classes for their help.
