I am so so sad to hear they have closed but wish you the best in your retirement. I have been eating here for at least 14 years, most of the time once/week(sometimes more ;)) Best vermicelli ever. I wish I had known they were closing so I could say goodbye. Oh how I wish I had their peanut sauce recipe! BEST ever, I have yet to find anyone that is even close to this tasty.

It is with a sad heart that I tell you that Tam and his wife have closed after 14 years. I will miss them but wish then the best in retirement!

This is a mom and pop kitchen with literally just two people handling the ordering and cooking. The food is really good there and it helps to know what to order. My favorite is Chicken Fo(Fo Gah) and #25 Vermicelli Grilled Chicken. I usually get the Spring Rolls with Shrimp and peanut sauce, and Vietnamese drip ice coffee. Their Fo is similar to Phoenatic in south Austin, but the arrangement results in better flavor. I really like this place and would have given 5 stars, but I need to remain objective and give just 4 just to keep the rating fair.

I don’t know about you, but whenever I walk into a Vietnamese restaurant, I never have the expectation that it should be impeccably well decorated nor do I expect the service to be superb. For me, it’s a quick get in, and get out kind of an experience and Sagiang totally delivered on that. My friend and I ordered the egg rolls, and the man was kind enough to cut up and place on separate dishes for each of us, and boy, they were GOOD. Not like a frozen egg roll from Sam’s Club bulk box, convenient good, but actually good. We both ordered phở duc(small) and we were content with the quality and portion. I originally wanted to order a large because I eat like a bear but somehow, the small ended up being just right. I love phở most days of the week but I love it most when 1) I’m wicked hungover and/or 2) it’s gross outside. Drink the broth and you’ll walk out of there a happier person.

Excellent little hidden gem! Very clean and you can see they take pride in that. That is a huge plus for me to keep a restaurant clean. Great food. Love the Bun’s. Forget the typical franchise, waiting in line and everything is deep fried. You won’t regret it. Yummy

Wonderful food but customer service is very poor. The table we had was very crammed and when you add the giant bowls of phở… it gets CROWDED. So basically you can’t really move and the phở takes up most of the space. Also the server/waitress did not write any of our orders down and did not nod or talk to show he was taking our orders in his head? So when he left, we were left behind confused as to what he was going to do next. He got everything, but it would be nice if he showed some sign of knowing our orders.

If I could give zero stars I would. We came here years ago when it first opened and it was horrible. Thinking since it was still in business maybe they’d improved. NOT! Had egg rolls, spring rolls, bun(vermicelli) & phở. All had an old spoiled and even bland taste. The meat wasn’t fresh and the spring and egg rolls were… Let’s just say they flunked the class on making them. In fact, not sure these people are even from Vietnam. Never have had Vietnamese food so nasty and we eat a lot of it.

Unfortunately my rating has gone down. Six of us ordered out. Two shrimp with rice noodles and«vegetables» = 5 cocktail-size shrimp with a bed of letuce. The spring rolls(we had 8 of them) were the worst preparations we have had here– not firm, but full of lettuce and fluffy– just a hint of shrimp. The peanut sauce is different– not yet sure if it’s better or worse. The Phở Gha and the Fried rice were up to usual standards, however. We had the impression that times were tough and they were skimping on the old recipes. Not a good sign!

The food is great. Phở and Vietnamese egg rolls are my favorites here. The Vietnamese coffee is legit. So good. The owner can get a little grumpy at times, but give him a break. It’s just him and someone cooking in the back(his wife?) working here. These are some really hard working folks dedicating their lives to making a nice Vietnamese style lunch for you to eat. Also, they close at 2:00, so get there early! One last note, the décor is out dated, tacky, and I love it!

I am on a mission to eat at every Vietnamese restaurant in the Austin area and tend to judge them all against a few favs. I have made it to almost 30 so far and this is the only one I’ve ever rated just one star. Vermicelli bowl had plain rice noodles and iceberg lettuce. No cilantro, cucumber, carrot, bean sprouts or peanuts. I ordered phở with soft tendon and the flavor was OK but the tendon was inedible, hard and chewy. The egg rolls were good. Won’t be back.

I just picked up my dinner from Sagiang Restaurant and it was delicious! I had their fresh,(hot and spicy with jalapeño and basil), and satisfying Shrimp Soup, Shrimp Spring Rolls(love their peanut sauce), and the Grilled Shrimp with Lettuce. Okay, I do love shrimp. Their Grilled Shrimp is a real treat with an extremely tasty sauce. And I have enough food for three meals — Yum.

I love their curry noodles with chicken or shrimp. I mean I really love it. Like we’re getting married in the spring, and we’re only waiting until the spring because we love the spring rolls here too. I read some really bad bad reviews for this place. A one star for not taking AMEX? I’ll take the sub $ 10 prices and no AMEX, who charges crazy fees. And the vitriol that guy spewed over this. I mean it’s an $ 8 bowl of delicious noodles and chicken. It’s not an AMEX dish. And then the décor. Yeah, it’s outdated, but they don’t care. This isn’t a trendy hot spot you bring a date to impress with your moneybags. It’s like eating at grandma’s and grandpa’s if your grandma and grandpa were Vietnamese. I love the décor. It’s genuine and not manufactured to appeal to hipsters or yuppies or boring people. It gets the job done, and I really love the music. It’s like all the really good songs you forgot about, but when you hear them again, make you smile. BUTTHEYDON’T TAKEAMEX! HOWCANTHEYNOTTAKEAMEX!!! I’M GOINGTOCRAPAMEX I’M SOMADABOUTTHIS!!! HOWDARETHEY!!! I ASSOCIATEALLMYSELF-WORTHFROMBEINGANAMEXMAN! And THEDECOR! I SAYDECORLIKE A STUCKUP A-HOLE! OHMYDEAR, THEDECOR. JUSTDREEEEEADFUL!!! I think you should go here because the curry noodles make the world a better place to live in. There’s enough evil in the world, like AMEX man, and décor man, and ISIS, and we need these noodles to help make people smile in the face of such misplaced anger and pure evil.

This is one of the stops on my search for the best phở in Austin. I’ve been here 3 times. I’m not sure how they are getting so many 4s and 5s. I’ve tried the bun and 2 types of phở. Meh. Nothing special, interesting, or memorable. The phở is light on meat/veg and the broth is mild and boring.

I love this place. I have been going here since 1999 and their food is always consistency delicious. My favorite go to items are the spring rolls and grilled shrimp vermicelli with extra house and peanut sauce. I think they have THEBEST peanut sauce in Austin. It’s serve warm and just a hint of spice to it. Their fried egg rolls are not overly greasy — they are lightly fried and again… excellent with their peanut sauce. Very small family owned business which I hope to continue to support for many years to come. I try to hit this place up for lunch at least once a week. :)

Skip this place and go to Minh’s. They don’t take AMEX, so they don’t get my business. Seriously, how can a restaurant not take AMEX? That’s ludicrous. If they claim it costs them more, they really don’t care about their business. A tiny bit of research will let them know they can get the exact same processing costs for AMEX as Visa and Master Card. I’m deeply disappointed in this business, and will spend my money at Minh’s, where they take AMEX, and Tabbedout is also accepted.

OK. I was in a search for finding a decent phở near Anderson Mill area & I saw this place reviews. Some really liked it & some it was alright… but always want to give that chance to a new place I visit. Phở #9– It was ok. As far as the phở, I will say 3 stars out of five. Nothing special & just typical Phở But here are the issues I had with this place. #1– I asked him for chili sauce & he brings in this little tiny cup, may be 2 table spoon full. I wanted to tell this Asian gentleman«Sir, can’ t you see that I am Asian? that tiny sauce you brought for me is for… non-asian» but I was nice… asked him if I can have some more. Oh my… didn’t I get the look from him. #2– Once I was done, I asked the gentleman for To-Go container. He brings this little 1 ½ cup container. I looked at him«I am going to need a bigger one.» Oh my, didn’t I get the look from him… Like somehow that container cost more than my Phở. #3– I remember reading on their menu that small is $ 6.45& large is $ 6.95. My bill was $ 6.95 so I asked him, «did I order large?» His answer«small is for children.» In my mind«it didn’t say anything about small is for children on your menu». Hummm… when you go Phở place, they have an option for regular or large/small or large. I didn’t want to argue over $ 0.50 unless he really pissed me off. When I was paying, he asked me «is this your first time?» My answer«Yes…» in my ind«and it will be the last». My bill came up to $ 7 and some change… I didn’t tip him. Why? Well, if he is going to be total Asian man attitude, my respond will be total Asian. We don’t tip! Tip comes with good customer service but just the look & the way he made me feel by asking more chili sauce & a bigger container, he needs to tip me for not being a total mean customer. I walked out of this place thinking«I can’t wait until put my review for this place…» Would I go back? NO. If the customer service sucks but Phở was amazing, then yes, I will suck it up & still will go back. But with the experience I had today, no. Would I recommend to others? Why? so they can say«He gave me the look». Please… save your money for other Phở…

Oh Phở is Me! Size does matter! I really wanted this to be another great Phở place to add to my list but it won’t be. I am so accustomed to the Phở bowls ranging from«I can’t finish that in two days to I need to be rolled out of here that was so much but so good.» When we ordered the Beef Phở we were so hungry — so imagine our surprise when the bowls they placed in front of us looked like the kid’s version of soup at many other Vietnamese Phở places in town. Ok, let me change that, the bowl was the size of the kids Phở at other places and to add insult to injury they are priced the same as the large bowls at other places. It didn’t suck but we left hungry — which defeated the purpose of stopping to eat lunch. I can’t say I would go back because I am addicted to Phở and all its wonderfulness.
