The magerita pizza was great there. Went there to say goodbye to a friend who was moving to California. I would definitely go bs k

Went here on a Thursday night. Really great service. Waiter was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list. Food was great. Mussel app was really fresh, trout dish really fresh and decent sized portion of fish, wood fired pizza was amazing(probably one of the top 3 pizzas that I have ever had). You can tell that they use very high quality ingredients. My family will be back for sure.

Its been a while since I’ve been out to eat so I had high hopes for lunch at this place. We ordered two paninis and it took 15 minutes. They weren’t cooked or warm or anything. Also they got both our orders wrong so we left because like most people, we have to be at work on weekday afternoons. I’m writing this review from my office after the hearty protein bar I got to have for lunch instead. Don’t offer lunch service if you can’t serve a panini in a reasonable amount of time on a weekday afternoon when the place isn’t even busy. People got work to do!

Quattro Gatti has a nice warm atmosphere. It is small and cozy. A great spot for groups or a date night. They have a great wine selection that pairs well with Italian dishes. I ordered a mixed green salad which was large enough to share with two other people. The salad was fresh with a nice tangy dressing. For my main course I ordered the Gnocchi with a tomato basil sauce. The Gnocchi was delicious, probably the best I have had in Austin. The gnocchi was the perfect size and the sauce was a perfect accent with a bed of fresh mozzarella on top. The entrees were very generous portions so this establishment would be great for a group so you can share and eat family style. Their pizza’s are also very good they are cooked in a brick oven which always add a nice smokey flavor to the crust and toppings. If you like Italian food that is made with fresh ingredients and consistently good this is the place for you.

Wonderful little gem on Congress! If you can find parking, this place is a must. Very authentic Italian feel. Great vibe and wonderful food. Definitely coming back to try more.

I ordered the chicken parmigiana, which I order at most new Italian places I go because I love it. The Chicken could not be cut with a butter knife. Over cooked and not good. My fiancé had the gnocchi and loved it.

Well, where should I start. We chose this because of reviews. Bad idea. Appetizers, calamari cold, carpaccio not enough for one. Pizza, cool. clams ok, linguine awful. Would have been nice to have a piece of bread to dip in clam and linguine sauce, though I doubt it could have helped… Were there at Happy hour, charged full price for drinks and aps. Tried to message them about this of FB, no answer. 148.00 for two… what a rip off. Service, several waiters. NO consistency. Sorry, I wanted a good meal and got far far less. I don’t know where these other people ate, really.

Amazing food! Great waiter! We even got free shots because he said the food took too long… We usually get«sorry» from other places. Really nice ambiance and good looking food well as taste. They have a good wine selection and some good cocktails. Will definitely come back.

Went there Tuesday night by error since our 1st choice was closed. This was a pleasant surprise. Food, service and ambiance were great. The chef/owner came out and spoke to us personally to check how we liked the food. Great touch.

Authentic Italian cooking. Gianfranco is a great host. The chef is Italian. The minestrone soup special was awesome. The bruschetta was just you get in Italy. They make their own bread –and it it great!!! Wines are great and very reasonably priced. Went there twice in the space of a few days we liked it so much. Great hospitality.

Atmosphere: Romantic, intimate, cozy and historic. Service: Attentive, timely, courteous and customer oriented. Food: Rustic Italian, authentic, from scratch, full of flavor. Wine: unpretentious, paired well, tasty and plenty of options. The bruschetta and the calamari as appetizers are a perfect way to start a meal here. The pizza cooked to perfection with a thin crust and baked in a brick oven. SOGOOD. The rest of the menu is respectable and we can’t wait to try everything. This is a special place that you should patronize.

I have eaten there several times, mostly because it was convenient, and the chicken panini was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.(Full disclosure and integrity compels me to tell you I own several TV stations, two of which are in Austin and initially I thought I would like to help their business through a very classy schedule of Ads. Then I met the owner). My first experience was great. I had a waitress who had been on the job for three weeks. She was perfect. My second visit was a different waitress, resulting in what I know believe is the standard of service. I could go on for days but I will tell you that, in my opinion, that treat their customers as if they are burdens. The pizza was voted the 8th best in Austin. I’d be surprised if I discovered more than 10 submitted. The chef is good. The owner literally sucks all the joy from the room the second he enters. He hired a good chef and a decorator. Other than that, it is amazing he hasn’t driven off all of the customers. To expensive, poor atmosphere, smug attitude, but there is the chicken panini. I’d get it to go if possible.

Stopped in here for lunch and it was ok. The up side was there was not a huge crowd or even a crowd at all. It was small and quaint with a vintage Italian flair. The service was ok and the food was ok too; not much to be said about this place other than it was ok… The food came quick and was hot, I think it was just a tad bit overpriced for the quality of the food. Paid 10 $ for a panini sandwich with nothing else and paid close to 15 $ for a plate of meatballs(3 meatballs) and nothing else not even a garlic bread. Everything tastes like it could use a couple of more spices to flavor it up; even the bread. Conveniently located downtown Austin, with a fair amount of open parking. I think with the amount of restaurant competition located within walking distance to this place they need to step it up.

This was our first time eating here and the food was very good, another great find. The pizza’s are amazing and the gnocchi(made in house) just melts in your mouth. For you wine lovers, it has a very good wine list. The service was great! Our waiter Brad was awesome and very helpful with the menu.

Solid pizza place; probably a bit overpriced for the amount of food you get. The tuna panini was fresh, but I didn’t expect/want the bread to be as chewy as it was. Ended up stealing some of my colleague’s margherita pizza, which was pretty good. Nice small Italian restaurant with an old-fashioned vibe.

Summary: Nice People, Great Atmosphere and Location, Delicious Food My wife and I have eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. The bruschetta is great — we kept it simple and got the classic. The pizza was incredible — light, crispy, and fresh. What struck me about the pizza was its simplicity. It felt like there were 5 ingredients in the whole thing, but each one tasted so incredibly fresh and delicious. Then we shared the Gnochi. It was good /not great. I think part of it seemed to be that the Gnochi was too soft where I like them firm. In general, I would rate the food as really good. Aside from the food, we really enjoyed the place itself and the great atmosphere. My favorite part of the place though had to be the owner, who made it a point to excuse himself from a very busy kitchen to ensure that each table liked their dinner. I felt for the money, the value was great. My only complaint was the cost of their wine, which seemed pricier than normal. In general, it was a great place, and we will return again.

I work downtown and eat all over the area and I must say that Quatro Gatti is my favorite place for lunch. The truth is that there arent very many solid Italian places in Austin. The food is food amazing(the best cesar salad ever), and the staff is so friendly. They treat you like one of the family Even on a hot summer day you can sit in the shade on the patio and watch the hussle and bussle of the city and is breezy and shockingly cool.

I seem to say this more often then not but our meal was between a 3 and 4 stars and I decided to round down because I believe service plays a major role in having a fantastic experience at a restaurant. I came here with a group for a friends birthday on a Wednesday night and we had no issue making a reservation for 7pm. The place was pretty empty during our 2 hour meal there. We wanted to start with wine but the menu doesn’t have the categories in English was we were a bit confused. This is where our service problems started. Not only did they really have no suggestion on type of wine, they didn’t have any type of explanation for them. They finally brought one out and when we asked if it was possible to try it, they responded with«If you want to try a wine, you better order a different wine because that is not something we offer.» We decided to try it anyway. To top it off, when they brought out the bottle, they bring out one glass and say«who would like to try the wine and see if this works for you» even though they already told us we don’t have a choice. Although it makes sense overall, they way they talked to us just seem to come off badly. The food itself was quite good. We ordered a range of items from pizza to pasta off the menu and all tasted very fresh. Sadly, I doubt I will come back here.

Came here during sxsw. Made a reservation but it’s not needed since they have plenty of outdoor and inside seating. We started with the caprese salad(which wasn’t served with balsamic vinegarette) and calamari. Our table then decided to share 3 pizzas; the best which had truffle oil and mushrooms. Overall the service was very quick and the prices vary fair. Great place to have a fast but relaxing bite. I just wish everything was a bit more flavorful. It was good but nothing really stands out compared to other Italian restaurants. Awesome option if you are in a hurry downtown.

Went here during a week I was spending the week downtown for a work function. Was having dinner with three colleagues from out of the country(Panama, Mexico and France) and was looking for something reasonably priced, not your average place, and that would accept reservations online(yay for Open Table!). Quattro Gatti fit the bill, which was good for me as I like trying someplace new. It is a small, but cozy spot with a bar and large pizza oven in addition to the seating area. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately for our reservation — there were other parties there, but a handful of tables still unoccupied. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The bread on he table was hearty and kept our stomachs happy until the food came out. We shared two delicious and fresh salads amongst the four of us — healthy sized salads made for sharing for sure. I went for one of the specials — a gnocchi with Bolognese sauce. It was filling, but I couldn’t resist the homemade Canolli for dessert(a rare find in Austin Italian restaurants!). Grazie for the hospitality!
