I should have done this ages ago, but this guy is just weird. It wasn’t enough that he took the money and didn’t do the job. He kept engaging, emailing and calling and saying he was going to start«next week» or «tomorrow» –and had all kinds of illness, problems, excuses. Constantly. I finally told him to leave me alone and to deal with my lawyer. He pulled the same crap with the lawyer, crying about this and that, saying he’d be by «tomorrow» with the check he owed, etc. etc. The time, effort, and trouble to take him to small claims court got to be too much stress, who needs it? Frankly, it was worth losing $ 2000 to get this guy out of my life. I suspect that’s how he makes most of his money, judging from the other reviews. Don’t let him near your home or checkbook, you’ll be really sorry, poorer, and your work will not get done.

We hired Petrich Painting and Remodeling to help us finish restaining our kitchen cabinets, stairwell, and office door. The first contractor we hired to do the job told us they knew how to stain much to our surprise they did not know what they were doing and damaged our kitchen cabinets and stairwell with over sanding and did not know to apply the stain correctly. Ryan reviewed the job and confidently told us what needed to be done. He gave us a sample of the stain applied on one of kitchen cabinets doors for our review. I knew then Ryan was the person to do the job! Ryan was knowledgeable and professional with his work. His crew was hard working, respectful and courteous. Thank God, we found Ryan our kitchen cabinets and stairwell came out absolutely beautiful! He also stained our indoor front door and I was blown away by Ryan’s touch with the brush. Thanks Ryan for a great job! He saved our kitchen from disastrous outcome!

My wife and I hired Petrich Painting & Remodeling earlier this Spring to remodel our home in Austin. They demo’d my kitchen counter-tops, back-splash tile and kitchen flooring. The flourescent lightbox in kitchen was replaced with can lighting on dimmer switches, venetian plaster done on walls in kitchen and dining-room, flawless patches done on our ceiling, and pendant light hung. They replaced the granite with a beautiful level 3 stone and replaced all back-splash with 3×6 tumbled travertine. Flooring was done with 6″ wide planks of hardwood flooring to match living-room. I gave him a deposit 2 weeks in advance to receive discounts and they were here on agreed start date. He has been back since to do a few minor touch-ups and stands behind his work 100%. Ryan and his crew are perfectionists and very easy to work with. My wife Karen and I recommend him and crew highly. Thanks my brother.

I bought and paid for $ 8,000 dollars of 5/8″ solid bamboo floors and paid Ryan Petrich over $ 2000 to install it. His installation voided the warranty on the wood floors because he did not install the floors to manufacturer specifications, which he assured me he would do! He did not put in enough nails in the wood upstairs and failed to install a moisture barrier downstairs. The manufacturer will not warranty the wood for shrinkage and discoloration because Ryan installed it wrong according to a Certifed Wood Floor Inspector! He guaranteed his work for 5 years and now 6 months later in my opinion his guarantee is worthless. He claims he is Bonded and Insured but he is not either for shoddy, incorrect or in my opinion worthless workmanship! He subs most of his work out to workers that he does not supervise. He will disappear a week at a time with«family» problems! INMYOPINIONAVOIDATALLCOSTS! HIS5YEARWARRANTYISINMYOPINIONWORTHLESS! More reviews are available on Angies List!

I had Ryan paint the inside of my house, fix the dings in the drywall, prime/texture/paint over the wallpaper in the kitchen and baths, paint the trim and the doors. The paint job is very good, the responsiveness was excellent and when more items popped up that needed painting, Ryan added them in with just a minor upcharge for the extra paint. I would use Ryan again and would recommend his work to friends. His website says he does specialized finishes, but I think that will have to wait until I get more adventurous.
