Adorable store for gifts and more, and excellent, personal service for stationery/​invitation orders!

As a business owner myself, I do not write a poor online review lightly. I know how much it can hurt to get one. But we were treated with such apathy that I have to say something.
I picked this place based on reviews on the web and some friends who live in the neighborhood’s recommendations. We wanted simple invitations and did not want them to be something we had to worry about a lot.
I regret deciding to use Party Cat for our wedding invitations. The design process was fine. That part worked well, except for a few minor details that I thought they would have brought to our attention as the experts. But I have no serious complaints about the invitation design. You would think that would be the hard part.
Instead, there were multiple «printing errors» which caused long delays. I can understand one printing error. I cannot understand not telling us about it until we called to ask what was taking so long. The second error caused a significant delay «because of the holidays» and we had to change our RSVP dates. We’re going to have to go on our final wedding planning trip without a guest count. Two more deadlines were missed after the initial deadline. Overall the invitations were 5 weeks late. I do not understand how printing errors take so long to fix. Put the paper in the machine. Click File —/​Print. Oh, there’s an error? Fix it and do it again. Repeat until the invitations look like the document they’re being printed from. Total time, a day maybe? How are these little printing errors causing 2 week delays. That seriously doesn’t make sense.
We were not kept up to date on the issues. The owner was dodging us rather than actually owning the problem. I finally walked in the store and asked for a daily update until they were done. I got one of the updates then nothing. When we visited the store for the second time to demand better service, the owner was gone and the staff had no clue what was going on.
The invitations themselves ended up looking nice. They gave us a big discount. But the damage was done. We don’t know how many attendees we have as we’re about to travel to do our serious planning. We dealt with an unreasonable amount of stress and strain on something we didn’t plan on fretting over.
If we had been a young couple from Tarrytown with an over-​attentive mother nursing this process along, I bet we might have received the proper level of attention. But the reality is they don’t think our wedding matters. An apology or an inquiry into how things have been going after our terrible experience might have saved me from writing this review. But really they’re just glad we’re gone. They don’t care about us, and never did.

This place is charming and affordable! They have a great selection of items able to be personalized. But you can also bring in your own items. I had a lovely picnic blanket monogrammed for $ 15, and they turned it around in less than 3 days (they said this wasn’t a normal turn around, but they would do their best to accommodate my request). The shop assistants were friendly on both visits!

My daughter and I visited Party Cat to look at wedding invitations for her wedding. They had a great selection but we couldn’t find just what we wanted in one of their books so they suggested that we do something custom. We told them the style, font and colors we wanted and they did a custom design for us to approve. We are thrilled with the invitations. They are simply gorgeous and within our budget. Party Cat has recently moved to larger space and I’m glad because they have more room for more gift items, etc. They also monogram just about everything that you can think of. Thank you, Party Cat for designing and producing the perfect wedding invitation!

The embroidery is fine, pretty expensive but fine. If you feel like being treated rather poorly for wanting to get your initials on a pillow however, this is that place to be! It comes complementary with looks of, we don’t really want you here, and I can’t believe you can afford that. Sadly it upholds the stereotype of the typical Tarrytown store I advise not to go here if want to be treated respectfully.

I ordered 3 personalized plates back in November 2010. They were made poorly, and I requested they be redone. The owner agreed to redo 2 out of the 3 plates and even told me they had already sent them back once to be redone before I had even seen them. I have been to the store and have called numerous times, and I still do not have my plates. I spoke with the owner one month ago and she told me she would check into this and assured me she would call me the next day. But once again I haven’t heard from her and still no plates. I would not recommend party cat because their customer service has been awful. I have never written a Unilocal review before today, but my frustration has made me feel the need to warn others about this store. It has been 7 months since I placed my order. Seriously?

I have to say that their staff is very helpful and I’ve ordered really cute birthday invites (they even help you with clever wording!) and went back to get family stationary and gift tags. They have a nice selection and I wasn’t originally crazy about the way my family stationary came back so they redid it to make sure I was pleased. I am always impressed with customer service this good.

Cindy, the president of Party Cat, helped me design and print custom napkins for my wedding reception, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! Prompt, clear communication characterized the entire transaction: I got quick email replies, accurate proofs, and excellent in-​person service. Party Cat’s flexibility in working with art I provided also set them apart from other printers I contacted. Their printer allowed me to use a jpeg of a motif from my wedding invitations on the napkins, which no one else seemed able to do. There was a small «plate fee» for this, but the pricing seemed fair to me.
When I first picked up my order, I was disappointed at the clarity and color of the printing (silver on red). The product really didn’t meet expectations set by the proof. However, Cindy immediately contacted the company and they re-​did the order to my satisfaction in just 3 days, so I had perfect napkins in time for the big event.
Custom napkins can get a little pricey, but Party Cat offers a good value for a high quality product. I’d definitely use this business in the future and recommend it to others.

Stop in to get custom invites for your wedding, baby shower, birthday party, you name it! Don’t forget to order custom party favors too! I’ve ordered koozies on multiple occasions and the artwork has always been top notch!

I have never been treated with such rudeness and disrespect when using any type of service, until now. From the initial phone call the representative, Elizabeth, was extremely short and made me feel as if I was bothering her. I was not warned once, if I make any changes to my proof there would be a $ 15 charge to change things as simple as the font… when I suggested they warn future customers… so they don’t make the same mistake as I did… she sharply said «it’s listed on the on the website» I don’t know about you but the reason I decided to have these done if obviously I have a career and don’t have time to create them myself, let alone read entire websites, which I still can’t find «the rules» anywhere. Lastly, I was told they only needed a credit card to start my order and I can pay with other means which I pick them up. When I came to pick up the invitations she had already charged my card without my permission or signature and tossed the bag on the table and said «thanks» …not even giving me a second to look them. The inviations did turn out cute… but I aways treat people with kindness and because of my experience… I will never use Party Cat ever again. I hope you take your business to somewhere they appreciate… I certainly will.
