After seeing the reviews, I was eager to try this place out. Only problem is I can’t find it! I live within walking distance of the location listed, but I have never seen a trailer in the lot in 2 years of living here.

Paqui Tortillas is now making tortilla chips, and they are fantastic. They’re GMO free, local, and so incredibly light and crisp. There are four different varieties, and they still make tortillas. The roasted jalapeño ones have a nice kick without the jalapeño overwhelming the chip. Eating them unencumbered with the usual chip fixings will leave a warm afterglow in your mouth. I’ve got a bag of the Grilled Habanero to try next. There’s also the Cowboy Ranch and Original Delights The downside, the chips are exclusive to Whole Foods(sold regionally in Texas locations as of this updated review). That’s not a slight to Whole Foods, I’m very glad they’re supporting a local business this way, It just means I’ll be going to Whole Foods a whole lot more.

We revisited little Paqui and tried one of the non-breakfast tacos. It was the one with the chicken fried steak in it with mashed potatoes. Honestly, I thought it would be a fail but was completely wrong. It was great with a good pepper taste and crunch. The textures really worked which was what I wasn’t expecting. The obsession continues. We also met the owner. She was very welcoming and friendly.

I was excited when I discovered this taco truck parked near my work. That is until I saw the prices! The breakfast tacos are $ 3 each for a 3 ingredient taco — I think that is about as expensive as breakfast tacos come. It may just be me, but I thought trailer food was supposed to be inexpensive? But now that trailer food has become super trendy, it is more expensive than eating in a traditional restaurant. I tried 2 anyway, hoping that for $ 3, maybe they would be giant, but they are just regular sized tacos. I ordered the potato egg and cheese, and bacon egg and cheese. The tacos were awesome, I really liked the potato one — the potatoes were super crispy and it added a great texture to the taco, but alas, I am too cheap too frequent their establishment often. I was given 2 things of salsa with my tacos — 1 red and 1 green. The salsa were both decent, but nothing special. The guy in the truck told me that their lunch tacos are even better and more popular than their breakfast offerings. They have cool selections like a Philly cheese steak taco and a fried shrimp taco, but their lunch tacos cost $ 5 each. I am a pretty big guy and can easily eat 3 tacos if I don’t have sides. I know a guy who wont be paying $ 15 for a couple tacos for lunch lunch anytime soon — this guy. I give them 4 stars because, price aside, their tacos are delicious.
