This used to be my go to coffee shop when I lived closer. Now I’m not that close but I still try to come by to get some work done. The music is always nice and mellow. Their hummus is my favorite snack.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out since I moved to Austin, but didn’t get around to doing so until this afternoon when I finally decided to stop in for a light lunch. This little treasure has a beautiful outside courtyard with fountains and plenty of shade(essential for any Texas establishment) and is perfectly charming on the inside. The barista was very friendly and helped me veganize my order — I got the falafel plate and subbed the tzatsiki sauce for good ‘olé hummus. Although it took longer than I expected for a place this size to get my food out to me, the garbanzo patties were so tasty and the hummus and cucumber so fresh that I didn’t mind! It’s got a lively ambiance but is quiet enough that I was able to get some serious writing done. I can’t wait to go back for their monthly free tango class night!

Still adore this place! Spent a very chill wonderful New Years Eve here with some friends and had a great time. The live music was great, the wine was wonderful and the cheese plate as good as always. The staff are always very nice and I always find a comfy spot to settle into.

Totally blissed out sitting on a swinging chair, hanging from the gorgeous tree centered in the out door dining space. Eating some delicious falafels, sipping on a hot Chai and a Topo Chico, while reading a book. There are little groupings of people gathered, enjoying a beer or some wine and slowing down, enjoying each others’ company. Wonderful place to come to do work, to relax, to visit, or to eat and be merry! This place is such a retreat for me. You must come! It’s so worth it!

Wonderful coffeeshop! They have delicious coffee as well as comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Their food is not half bad either. I would definitely recommend this to everyone in south austin. It is a great location to work or meet with with friends, and it has a great location on south lamar.

I needed to get some work done one Sunday morning and decided a coffee shop was the place to do it. Unfortunately, I did not choose Opa! as said coffee shop. Instead, I did some work nearby and then met a friend here in the afternoon. Not a day has gone by that I haven’t regretted working elsewhere. Opa! has such a relaxed atmosphere and super good food. They have some loungey areas in the back and a beautiful patio. Also, I really like the ! after their name. They have all day happy hour on Sunday, which includes a delicious sangria. Seriously, I spent 4.5 days in Spain — I know authentic sangria.(That was a joke, but really, it’s good.) Bottomline — I’m giving this place 5 stars even though a bird pooped on my head.

Opa has become my favorite spot for day time remote working and reading. There are lots of small tables with access to plugs and very comfy cushiony seats. The staff is great and the vibe is awesome. They have a great patio in the front, side, and back– there’s plenty of room if you have a group wanting to find a good meeting spot. Fun music at night, yummy Greek tapas plates, and lots of happy customers.

So much Opa! I love this spot and I’m furious that I dont come here more often. Great wine deals, good food, a beautiful patio and a little oasis from the cars zooooooming past means I need to spend so much more time here.

We love the patio, so relaxing! My Bloody Mary was delicious. The Spinach and Cheese Pies and the Hummus were both fantastic. So flavorful and very generous portions.

I happened to stumble across Opa! on a 101 °F evening post kayaking at zilker. Call me crazy, but staying out in the sun that long gave me an urge to down a pint. Unilocal led me here and I can only say one thing — thank you, Unilocal. The patio is gorgeous. It’s homey and sophisticated — like a very rich/cool and old aunt’s porch. Couple of swings attached to trees, couches strewn over the place, fancy books on Paris … Tres belle! Sangria is $ 3 during happy hour(4 – 7 weekdays and all day Sunday) plus a whole lot of wines half off and beers off a $. This ain’t no craft beer hub, don’t come here and ask for deschutes fresh squeezed.(FYI — my hubby actually did ask) Food — meh. Tzaziki sauce is amazing, but portions are teeny and sorta overpriced. They do have pizza, which in my case is usually a lifesaver. They also have free wifi and water coolers outdoors. My LO doesn’t need a high chair anymore, but for the LOs who do– sorry parents. No high chairs. But the kids will love to sit on the big and comfy swings. Porch is both dog and kid friendly. Just watch for the un– gated entry arch way that your kid could run out of. Parking on Sunday was a nightmare — just park across at the CVS and walk, if necessary. In addition — there’s a lick honest next door! So, ambience 5/5, food 3/5, service 3.5÷5.

Opa is one of my favorite spots on Austin. This is one of the most relaxing and laid back places to hang out that you will find. Their patio is one of the best in the city with a wide variety of seating options from tables to benches to tree swings. Their food is simple but good, and their coffee is very obviously done right. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice relaxing evening but not looking to spend a ton of money.

The atmosphere is wonderful. It’s a weird yet awesome mix of greek, vintage, and laid-back cool. It’s super cozy and comfortable with sofas galore. Great for winding down during their 3 dollar happy hours(love their Sangria). Works well as a study or work place too, with of plenty tables and outlets. Art books on each table is a cute detail. It’s definitely less of a restaurant and more like a café/bar type of place. The tzatziki plate and cheese pies are my favs. Delicious! Some nights they even have live music too!

Always inviting, this Austin staple serves tasty food and has a respectable selection of beverages. It’s a great place to meet friends or have a casual date. The oak tree in the front patio is beautiful!

Absolutely wonderful!!! My first time here and it’s so precious inside. Gilbert took care of us at the bar and he was so great. I just wanted to leap over the bar and kiss his brown sugar face. And the food was Devine! My favorite was the baked feta. Omg you have to try it. Opa!!!

I’d like to pretend that my less than 50% greekness counts for something here, but it probably doesn’t. Opa gets one of my votes for favorite atmosphere for a «I wanna hang out and have fun but I don’t want to get rowdy» night. Opa typically has live music and a good selection of drinks and food. I wouldn’t say the drinks or food warrant such a high rating(the food is decent but not the best Greek food I’ve had in the states), but the whole setting counts for a ton. There’s ample indoor space and outdoor space to hang out with friends, play a game, listen to music, chat, etc. that can be as intimate or as social as you want it to be. Good for so many occasions: dates, hanging with parents, a group of friends, by yourself. Withholding the 5 star rating for a place that includes plate smashing

I live very close to Opa but I’ve never been there before today. Seriously! If I known it was so wonderful, would have gone before! First of all place is cute and cozy, quiet and you can be in peace, relaxed! You need to order at the counter and then the waiter comes bringing your order on the table! I was with a friend and we ordered Gyro with Falafel, croissant with ham and cheese croissant with Nutella and Banana, latte with caramel and hot chocolate! OMG when I tryed food was awesomeeeee! Incredibly wonderful! Simple and tasty! Everything was so much better than I expected. Of course we will be back soon! Maybe tomorrow morning to breakfast. Can’t wait!

Oh Opa, how I love you. You seem to fulfill so many of my needs. There are few places I would consider for both a romantic date night and a productive work afternoon, for an extended happy hour and to bring mom when she’s in from out of town. There’s a great selection of wine, and the spanakopita is light, flaky, and delicious. I usually ask for extra tzatziki. Greek salad is always fresh and refreshing. Get them both with the spanakopita plate. There is a huge tree in front of the house with two glorious swings hanging from it(though you might have to wait your turn). The live music is always relaxing, and the ambiance magically suits whatever your mood is at the moment.

They have a good happy hour deal and their falafel(plate) is super tasty. Beautiful patio and atmosphere. Nice place to have a glass of wine after a hard day’s work.

One of the best outdoor patios in Austin. If you are looking for a cool and chill place to sit and get work done, hang out with friends, or listen to good music this is a must try place in Austin. They offer coffee, wine, small bits, and have a good happy hour. I recommend the sangria for happy hour it’s delicious. It’s located off Lamar and next to 360 Pizza and with all the great lights hanging outside its hard to miss. It’s such a neat vibe and on a great weather day you could spend some serious time on their patio!

This is a nice little coffee shop/bar/café with decent Greek food and good wine. During happy hour you can get glasses of wine from opened bottles for half price, which can be a heck of a deal. We tried the lamb gyro, which was very good, and the falafel, which was ok. The portions are on the light side, so you may want to get a few dishes to share if you want a filling meal. We were still a bit peckish after sharing these two dishes. The staff is very friendly, and very accommodating as well. We wanted to try some of the open wines before choosing one, and they let us try as many as we wanted. And when we wanted a side of spanikopita, which is not on the menu as a side dish, they were willing to sell us one. And when it didn’t come out, they gave us a second one for having to wait. So A+ on customer service for sure. The tables are all pretty small, and round), so our party of 6 surrounded two of the tables pushed together. Parking was also a bit hard to come by, but apparently you can park next door for overflow. Overall, a nice place to hang out, enjoy some wine, and have a snack.
