North Loop Car Wash

I really want this to be a good car wash — and with a little care from the owner, it could be. However, here’s the current state:
–neither vacuum works (just put in $ 2 and almost no suction)
–broken glass, gravel, small trash throughout paved areas
–car wash water stinks as if it’s been recycled many, many times
If you own Espuma Car Wash, I will use it – just clean and maintain the place!

Regrettably, this place appears to be suffering from considerable neglect. On a recent visit, only one of the three vacuum units was functioning properly, and it didn’t have a nozzle or head at the end, it was just a tube. Another had the head attachment secured with duct tape, but the suction was so bad as to render it useless. The third option is completely inoperable and appears to have been that way for quite some time. Also, the price for the wash must be $ 1.75 per segment of time, rather than $ 1.50, because it wanted an extra quarter from me at every stage. I give it 3 stars instead of 2 because it still beats the one at Galaxy Automotive, which should be avoided at all costs.
I suspect the owner of the dirt here may just be waiting for city council approval to build some inappropriately dense condos with no parking on this lot, as is happening on every other square inch of Central Austin.

If you’re interested in leaving a car wash with a dirty car and less money in your pocket, this is the car wash for you!
You get to play the very fun game of «Which Machine Works??» It only costs about all the quarters you’ve brought. We’ll give a leg up on the vacuum lottery, none of them work.
So basically my sister and I got to pretend to clean our car for a small fortune.

meh…2 of the 3 car bays did not work.

This place used to be great for what it is. That was back when the price was $ 1.25 and the wash lasted 4 – 5 minutes. They’ve since raised the price to $ 1.75 and cut the time down the 2 – 3 minutes.
Do the math. 3×1.75 + .75 for the vacuum and you’re out 6 bucks, plus you’re dirty and sweaty and your car is only somewhat clean.
Save the effort and spend a few more bucks for a basic car wash somewhere else.

I, too, went here because it was right around the corner. That’s really the only benefit. Location, location, location.
The machines don’t accept credit cards. Nor do they beep to warn you it’s about to stop. The soap spray works, the foam scrubber works, and the rinse works. Woo. Hoo.
The vacuum was average. There were no clips for the car mats. No wet, scrubby vacuum. No scented vacuum crap (I hate that stuff, anyway).
This place is definitely the no-​frills car wash for a «this-​should-​have-​more-​frills» price.
Meh.
