My Concrete Artist

I hired Troy to come out and make my concrete floors sparkle again before I put my house on the market, and they did, for a day. Had I known, before I paid him $ 700, that he was simply going to apply a «mop and glow» like product to my floors, I would have called someone else! As soon as my dog walked across the floors all I could see were paw prints. I asked him before he started if there was a product that would wipe away prints, etc… and he sold me a bottle of «water» for an extra $ 5.the product does absolutely nothing, nothing! I called him a few days later (left a message) to tell him that the product wasn’t working and that I could see were paw prints everywhere and that I would be out of the house for awhile, please call me when you’re able to come over. He called while I was out and left a message that he hoped I was home, he was coming by in 5 minutes. He left a little of the «mop and glow» type product on my front porch for me to touch up the floors myself. When I tried to apply the product it left horrendous white streaks everywhere. So in a panic, a day before my house was to be put on the market, I called him twice (no answer, so I left messages), to please come by Monday morning and look at my floor. I knew he wasn’t going to call me back though so I lucked out and reached Andy, from Andy’s concrete floors. He not only came out on a Sunday, was there in 20 minutes, but did the job for a «song.» What a gem this guy is! He also gave me suggestions on how to keep the floor gleaming with regular household products. I’ve learned my lesson about hiring someone becuase they’re in the Dripping Springs Outlook publication. My wife hired this guy to stain our concrete deck and front porch. The colors that we agreed upon were not even close! He said that’s not guaranteed. We also had to glue casters to all of our chair legs and table legs. If you move a chair it will scratch the stain OFF. I was really upset with my wife that she didn’t even get a receipt. So I wrote it off thinking they were some amateur crew that didn’t know what they were doing. Then I saw an ad in a coupon magazine and my wife said that’s them! I would not hire these people to do anything for you at all! They would not respond to our problems with their job. $ 1700.00 down the drain. Thanks guys. This is what you get and I am a Realtor now. Expect more reviews.

Now the owner is threatening to sue me and others on Unilocal.One thing I forgot to mention is when they came back the next day after we called and said the job was terrible, the assistant told us they were going to have to use powerful chemicals and we would need to leave for 4 hours. When Troy walked in and we asked him, he said we would be ok. We have dogs, a cat and 5 kids who were in the house all day and the fumes were very strong. Assistant and owner need to get their stories straight on what they tell people.

I have to agree with pretty much everything the other reviewers have posted. We hired My Concrete Artist to sand and polish the raw concrete floors in the lower level of the house and in our sunken living room area. We made it clear that we wanted to see the results of the sanding before any sealer was put on. Well, they proceeded to do the entire job in just 1 day initially, and never asked for our approval before sealing. The floors in the sunken living room were unevenly ground down and left with strange looking marks. He tried to tell us that it looked good. Ummm, no, it didn’t. He had to come back and regrind the floors and they still didn’t look ideal but at that point we just accepted it. He didn’t even seal them, he left the sealer for us to complete the job ourselves. So unprofessional! A few months later the sealer started to bubble and peel and crack in places all over the floors in the lower level of our house. When we contracted him about the issue, he told us it was due to «moisture» and something he had seen before. He offered to resand those spots but we conveniently never heard from him again.
If you want someone who doesn’t take pride in their work, cuts corners, and just tries to get the job done as quick as possible, these are the contractors for you…

ugh, my floors have stressed me out so much that i have totally avoided rating this company and dealing with it in general it was such a nightmare. we ended up having to fire this guy, after he and his assistant had tried to do my floors properly i guess it was 4 – 5 times. we hired someone else to fix them. unfortunately it didn’t fix the problem (more on the other concrete co. later who ended up being not much better) and my floors are peeling up left and right. my floor looks just as bad as before we even started and it makes me sick. all that $ for nothing… now i guess i get to look into wood floors. he even tried to sue US for firing him and partial non-​payment. unfortunately my friends used this guy as well because we had the same contractor and he did a horrible job on their floor too. avoid this company at all costs.
