Lovely people, tasty sandwiches, exceptionally good cappuccinos & Lattes, and a peaceful courtyard filled with oaks and serenity. No need to say anything more. Except rumor has it the soups are delicious.

Amazing place. I come here twice a week. The baristas are Debbie, Kat and Linda. They make excellent drinks. The food is brought in by various suppliers but it is all top notch. Free wifi and comfy chairs.

They use great coffee beans, and make a great Americano. The soups are gourmet and I’ve tried the barley minestrone, chicken tortilla and turkey chili with cornbread croutons. The sandwiches are hearty and fresh, and the desserts/muffins are very yummy! The baristas are personable and the atmosphere is open and modern. It’s a hoppin’ place with a great courtyard and outside seating too.

The food and coffee are good, but what earns this spot 5 stars is the location. What a gorgeous courtyard. Plus there’s a play area for the kids(I assume it’s fair game since it wasn’t locked up). On a nice day you can’t beat this for a place to chill out and let the kids burn off some energy.

When I read Beth’s review(below), I knew I had to immediately visit Mocha, considering I live RIGHTNEXTDOOR! The iced mocha has been heavenly, the iced chai latte is delicious and the sweets(cinnamon bun and banana bread) do not disappoint! Had I not had lunch, I definitely would have ordered the turkey chili! So many yummy options(gluten-free choices, too!), I know where to go when I’m not feeling like making something at home :) The staff is incredibly friendly and inviting. Not enough indoor seating(though there is definitely room for it, perhaps the tables just weren’t set out), but the shady outdoor area isn’t too bad. I have found my coffeehouse, just a two minute walk from my apartment. Definitely a great place to sit down, relax with a nice cup of coffee(or tea!) and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Thank you, MOCHA!

I went to Mocha on a Wednesday afternoon to study. I ordered a sandwich, chips and a drink. The price was super affordable for what I got. The sandwich was HUGE! They didn’t skimp on the meat or the cheese and it had fresh spring mix! They also served soups… I plan on sending my fiancé to pick one up the next time I am home sick! They also serve coffee and pastries & they have a soda fountain if you are not a coffee drinker. I am always looking for places to study in south Austin(I haven’t found a suitable library). This would be a great place to have a group study date if you have time in the middle of the week. As of now they are only open Monday through Friday and they close at 4pm most days. They also have WiFi. It would also be a great place to meet a friend for a cozy lunch. If you are looking for a simple, healthy, yummy, filling meal this place hits the spot!!!

This place is a hidden gem! It is tucked inside a church, and while the other reviewer is right — it’s not a sophisticated, urban spot — it’s not church-y, either. The court yard is full of beautiful live oak and the seating inside is comfortable. There’s free wifi. But best of all, the coffee is stellar. Definitely the best I’ve ever had in the area, and at great prices. If I were still a student I’d take full advantage of this setup! Great if you have kids too, as there’s a nice playground right there. All the food I’ve tried so far has been really good too — very fresh and also very well-priced. Love it!

Great food. Great atmosphere. Quieter than Starbucks in many respects, I can see this being a nice place to meet up with friends for lunch. It’s a short walk from our apartment complex and the food was healthy and delicious. I also really appreciate the opportunity to put my $ towards a charitable effort. Will come back for sure and recommend to friends.

Nestled along Monterey Oaks Blvd is Mocha. The shop is located in a church and the vibe is very community oriented. This is not a coffee shop to go to if you want to feel urban and cool, but go if you want a quiet place to relax around good people. Plus, my latte was about $ 2 and very good. The place wasn’t very crowded, but the customers seemed to be moms with their kids, people having business meetings and others working on their laptops. To to those in the neighborhood looking for good, affordable coffee and a nice place to meet with friends or get some work done — this might be exactly what you’re looking for. I’ll be back.
