I almost exclusively shop here. The girls are nice up front. The butcher is good and they have quality meat for good prices. The little taco stand in back has amazing food. They don’t speak English buts its pretty easy to get by(dos tacos por favor!) I’m all about shopping local. And this place is. Cool.

I visit this place nearly three times a week. Their chicken is excellent and is the cheapest in town for the amount. The marinated fajita meat is by far the most excellent I’ve bought in Austin. I’m terrified of salmonella from some places that have a meat market but this place is very clean and up to code. 10⁄10 would recommend.

This is a little gem tucked away in a part of town that’s surrounded by businesses and apartment complexes, yet somehow desolate at the same time. I walked in looking for some sort of preserved, untainted by Texas influence, Mexican culture and I was not let down. Mi Tienda offers plenty of meats — none of which I’m interested in eating myself, but someone who is also searching for Mexico in Texas may want to try it — and beautiful cheeses. Oh the cheeses… Real Mexican cheeses! You can find Mexican candies here, my favorite! Tamarind, plenty of it. There is a small food counter where they offer nothing vegan and only a fish empanada that some non-meat eaters may venture into trying. I had it and was laoded with some of the most flavorful salsas and Mexican cheese I’ve had in a really long time.

The tacos at this Mexican grocery store’s taco counter are so good, top quality taco truck style! And plenty of beer for sale! This is my daily spot! Beer and tacos, 4 stars for me!
