I use Unilocal a lot but this is my first actual review. And honestly I couldn’t think of a place more worthy. I’ve lived in Austin almost 12 years and have had my fair share of apartments from EVERYAREA. Some were decent, and some down right terrible. However, I’ve lived at Marquis almost 4 years with 2 unit transfers after expanding my family, and have never had any issues. I am a little bit of a NEEDY resident but all of my requests are always met with a smile and positive attitudes! The office staff when I moved in was good, and after some changes has only gotten BETTER. Nathan and Tracy are always helpful and go out of their way to make this feel like HOME! They even personally hand out breakfast(Round Rock donuts, yogurt, fruit) on your way out of the gate some mornings! :) Marquis Maitnance staff is TOPNOTCH! Most of my requests are done same day, even within the hour on a slow day for them. The maintenance guys are all very friendly as well, and wave with a smile anytime we see them. To address the dumpster issue I noticed they’ve put in a compactor now. Although my husband usually takes out the trash, when I do go, I’ve never seen it more than half way full. There are several apartments on this block and ours is the best looking by far, in my opinion. If you are considering this place. I would absolutely stop by for a tour. You won’t be disappointed!

I agree with the other reviewers. On the outside Marquis Shoreline looks wonderful but after you’ve actually lived here for a few months you’ll regret moving in. In my first month I had to call the service technician to my apartment over 4 times for various things that should’ve been taken care of before I moved in. From a broken garbage disposal, to leaking pipes, to missing appliances I had to deal with all these things in my first month. The garbage is almost always overflowing. The walls are so paper thin you can hear conversations from the floor below. The front gates are almost always broken. Half the time they are just left open so they offer no security. Parking is a joke unless you want pay extra to have your own«private» space. Oh and did I mention if you do pay for that«private» space if someone else parks there management doesn’t care. Needless to say when my lease is up I will not be renewing.

I don’t really know too many people in the office, except for James. James is always very personable and friendly. He’s always says hi when he is on the property or passing by. If it weren’t for James, we probably wouldn’t have renewed our second year. Thanks for all you do, James!

I’ve lived at the Marquis at Shoreline for three years. The best part about being a resident here are the staff and their speedy response to all of your needs be it big or small. James is the BEST he’s been an employee here thru all of the different changes as far as ownership and staff changes during the past three years he’s very knowledgeable and professional and always there to help which makes my living here absolutely amazing…

Pretty much a bad complex to live in. stayed for the 12 month lease, first 2 months were pretty good but then after that it was like it all went downhill. Front office is always changing management, trash compactor is always full and recycling as well. to make things worse they only have one dumpster! It was so bad trash was on the street waiting to get picked up. If you have pets might as well buy your own bags because they never replace them. Front gates are always broken. So much for feeling safe on who comes in. Also have had residents have their cars breaking into, including myself and garages as well… yeah your better off finding another place then here trust me… if you need to do it at your own risk.

So one more page in the Marquis at Hell saga. Yet again last night the dumpster was OVERFLOWING and NOONECARES! There was also glass all over the main entrance and I had to call several times and wait more than 24 hours for their staff to clean it up. Trash trash trash. Avoid this place at all costs!

This place is gorgeous, truly it is. As part of our search around North Austin for a great place to live, this w‘as a top contender. Granite, spacious, nice views available, great pool, HBO included(that alone almost did it), beautifully maintained, very well managed, this was almost the one. Ultimately I picked a beautiful spot for a lower price, but no HBO at the place I chose.

I’ve lived here a little over 9 years, and am on the 4th management company. So far, I’m impressed with the newest one. Just did a renewal lease and it went smoother than it has in the past. I was able to read all the documents online at my leisure, and when I had problems at home actually signing it, Susan in the office walked me through. Took like 15 minutes. The rent increase was substantial, but because I sign long-term leases I was way below market, so it was expected and not as bad as I thought it would be. The apartments themselves are pretty quiet — rarely hear next door neighbors. That said, there is considerably less insulation between floors so I do hear the upstairs neighbor, but just normal sounds I’d hear in any apartment. Several nice upgrades to apartment like crown molding and garden tub make it feel less apartmenty. Newest management company makes you pay rent online, but process is very quick and painless. Although I haven’t had maintenance problems since they took over, I have had to send e-mails to staff during lease renewal. They answered all my questions promptly and have been extremely friendly. If they put in all the changes they have planned, I’ll definitely be upgrading this to 5 stars.
