Let me start by saying, I adore burgers. So much. I could eat a burger every day and be the happiest and most rotund person to ever exist. I love all burgers. The reason that Fuddruckers stands out is the quality of their product. Yes, I know they are a chain. Yes, I know that there are so many mom and pop burger places everywhere. But I love consistency. Their burgers can be cooked to order so when I order medium, it is a perfect medium. They have a few cheese choices and options for different buns, like wheat, gluten free, or even lettuce if you are trying to avoid the carbs(if so, I am so sorry for you because bread is everything). Their fries are wedge fries but not soggy. Crisp and pillowy on the inside, they are seasoned beautifully. The literal best part? They have cheese sauce. Free cheese sauce. What a time to be alive!!! It is all pretty self serve so you can put all the fixins on or leave them off. They are not super cheap but you get what you pay for and I have never been disappointed.

Delicious burgers! Juicy and flavorful. Had the works burger with bacon, mushroom, and cheese and it was perfect. And I’m a condiments girl so I love their large array of help yourself sauces, including the awesome jalapeño cheese sauce — perfect for the yummy wedge cut potato fries. I also like the burger toppings bar so I can have all the pickles I want and they have one of those awesome soda machines. It’s a good choice for somewhere between fast food and a restaurant.

Over priced burgers, exceptionally horrendous staff and service. I too experienced a shortage of items, rudeness of staff and an uncaring manager. I will have to find a buffalo burger elsewhere. It is no wonder this location has posted 30.07 no open carry of handguns.

Great burgers and clean bathrooms. Can’t beat the Buffalo Burgers for taste and less fat. Service was good. I like that there’s a Luby’s next door. I would like to see this combo of restaurants more often. Especially in North and Central Austin.

Love the burgers and the staff are all very friendly, but this location is too small and on cold days you freeze if your anywhere near the door. The building sucks, all else is good. Rating low just because of the building design.

The last time I came here I had absolutely 0 service set myself as usual how to get up to get my own refill no server ever came to greet me other server saw me the old lady working with me or that was supposed to be serving me that 15 minutes having a conversation with some other table completely ignoring the fact that I was her table. After I complain to her to the cashier the cashier went and told the lady and the lady blew her at all and it shook her hand and acted like she did not give a fuck. I normally don’t say this but I swear to god I hope that that lady lost her job after I complain to her manager she was scum service and just does not belong in this business. I know Luby’s Cafeteria does not really care about these reviews I wish more people would read these reviews and heed the advice of not eating here an hour before close. These people can be very rude in the night shift I hope the day shift is not this bad the Fuddruckers next door lacks flavor and their burgers the fries are completely disappointing and the burgers are flavorless. The problem with complaining about both these restaurants is lubys cafeteria is one of my favorite restaurants in the world Fuddruckers burgers to me as a child growing up were the best burgers in the world when they first opened in McAllen Texas store I was so excited the burgers were so good lately their quality has gone down and the service there is not bad but not good either. Really hope the manager of Luby’s restaurants reed this and fires that lady who was the server that night who I wish I remembered her name I also know she was a Hispanic older lady possibly in her early sixties or late forties somewhere in that tend your ranch there was also a young black girl working that night and a young hispanic girl in her twenties working as a cashier. The manager I spoke to seem friendly and seem like he cared but I’m not sure if it was care or just let me let this guy finish talking but I really hope he fired that girl he was a young Hispanic man and this happen about a week and a half for 2 weeks ago. Out for Fuddruckers you guys do deserve a maybe 2 or 3 stars but your burgers seriously lack seasoning. And your timing can sometimes use help. Dislocation and both of these concepts have massive amounts of potential the problem is better quality on one part or really better flavor and I’m talking about you Fuddruckers and luby’s part better service get rid of the bad and bring in people who actually want to work.

I went to this store because the Fuddruckers at Ben White and Lamar is now closed. Too bad, that was a great store. This location was terrible. I walked in and ordered a Ribeye Sandwich with mushrooms and a large order or onion rings. I then went to the soda machine to get a Diet Coke. They had to locations to get that flavor and both were out. I told an employee and he just gave me a blank stare, then finally said ok. When my food was ready I noticed I didn’t have many onion rings on my plate, so I asked if this was a large? They stated no and proceeded to put more on my plate. Of course another employee stated, Did he pay for a large? I told her I had a receipt. I then took my food to my table and notice there were no mushrooms on my Ribeye. So I had to go back up and get the mushrooms I paid for. I go back to my table and there is no bounty on my table. That’s what they use Bounty. Whoever manages this place is not doing their job. No Diet Coke, No bounty. mistakes on a very simple order. This location doesn’t even compare to the old Ben White location. The ribeye also seemed smaller to me. Lubys did send me a $ 10 gift card. That was nice of them. Someone needs to light a fire under the manager of this store. He also doesn’t answer his telephone either… What a shame. Also the cooks seemed more interested in cutting up with each other rather than concentrate on their job, that’s probably why they messed up my easy order… Doubt I will go back to this location.

This is a new establishment so I’m hoping they’re just working out the kinks The line moves very slow because they only have one person in each area, e. g one serving main, one serving sides, etc. There were at least 5 people standing around behind the food and the servers were in no hurry to get the line moving. They worked very slowly. I’m not sure what the other ones were doing besides chatting with one another. I asked if they had horse radish before I ordered a slice of beef because I didn’t want it if they didn’t. They assured me they did. Then passed my dish to the man serving sides. Again I asked for horse radish. He told me he would make some up and to ask my server to come get it. When I asked the server, she went to get it and returned to tell me they were out(they were out of butter the last time I was here). I would have ordered something else if I’d known that. The hot roll was cold, as was the slice of beef. The fried okra was medium warm but mushy. The taste was good though, as was the Mac and cheese(again medium warm) and carrot and raisin salad. The beef was cold and edges were tough. The flavor was pretty good though. They have some really unique dishes that looked good The server was very good and attentive but didn’t hover or bother me every 2 minutes likes some do. The dining room was clean and I liked the TV’s with news or sports on them. As I said, I hope they’re just working out the kinks because this Lubys had a lot of potential.

Love this lubys !!! It’s very new and not musty like some old lubys. The food is excellent and lots of choices. Be careful because some things can be overpriced! We had the best service here. The waitress helped my son carry his tray when she saw him struggling and they gave us so much refills I thought we were going to float away. They wouldn’t even let us leave without to go cups. If you like lubys don’t miss this one!!! Ps I haven’t tried the Fuddruckers next’door!

Guys — this is seriously the best Luby’s I have EVER been to… and that is saying a lot too because I am from San Antonio where Luby’s first opened up in 1947! Since I was a lil nina living in San Antonio, I always associated Luby’s with a few things — 1) mac and cheese! Oh the creamiest wonders of these noddles were the best thing about having lunch or dinner with mi familia at Luby’s. 2) the fresh fried fish and the amazingly creamy tartar sauce — all of my protein, as a little one, came solely from eating fish at Lubys. 3) the jiggly and chilled red jello was a must for me to have to finalize my meal selection and is still a part of my meal selection now as an adult 4) the old school register that dispenses your change out of a ladder slot on the side of the register when you checked out I can tell you that even now, as a grown 31 year old woman, my favorite things about Luby’s are STILL the mac & cheese, fried fish, and the red(or blue… im not so picky anymore) jello. In fact, all 3 of those items are ALWAYS on my dinner plate whenever I frequent Luby’s even to this day. My boyfriend mentioned this location to me as we were figuring out lunch plans. As soon as we arrived BOYOHBOY was I amazed!!! There is a HUGE dining area with plenty of booth seating and windows that welcome the natural light in. The lighting fixtures were modern as was the rafters(having rafters exposed makes for a wider and more open space). The display of food, desserts, and even BEER was very nicely presented and everything looked and tasted so fresh! Did you catch that? THISLUBY’S HASBEER!!! They have local beers on display AND for purchase next to the soda fountain, water spicket, and homemade sweet tea(and unsweet too). You have never been to a Luby’s like this one until you come here. Also, it is next door to Fuddruckers(which the owner franchises as well) that is connected to Luby’s. However, you can’t order a Fudd burger from Luby’s or vice versa. Walk towards the restroom to find the entrance to Fuddruckers if you think you want a burger anyway or you’re feeling on getting a burger to have while the rest of your party munches down on Luby’s. You can bring both meals in either or one another dining area with no questions asked. OPTIONS, ya’ll! THEREAREOPTIONS!!! It’s as if Luby’s is all grown up, like me, and knows exactly what she wants when it’s time to grub down on some fried fish which may/may not want an ice cold Lonestar to sip on with her dinner too. It’s so glorious to have options, ya’ll! Oh and this is probably the ONLYLOCATIONWITH A PATIO! Luby’s, you guys have a happy hour!!! I will come to you if you do right now.
