This place is overpriced. you can probably find somewhere else a little cheaper.

This place is super cute! I stopped in one day to ask about selling some of my jewelry, soaps, and crafts on consignment. There’s a lot of cute stuff here, and interesting local art. Its a bit too pricey for me, and to sell on consignment would take half of my earnings. I plan on going back soon though!

After eating lunch with wife we stopped by to check this place out. She loved the place, tons of unique clothing and everything I saw was at a fair price. I think the owner was there and she was very nice.

After leaving Dynasty Café, I saw hippie dresses blowing in the wind a few doors down.(Heh… «Hippie Dresses Blowing In the Wind» sounds like a ‘60s folk song!) Intrigued, I walked down and saw Lovey’s Loot. I knew I’d seen this place before on previous trips, but I was still a Lovey’s virgin. Well, I lost my Lovey’s virginity today, and it was pretty enjoyable. I immediately found a pretty purple summer dress to try on as I looked around at all the other offerings. This place occupies two store spaces and has three different rooms in the main storefront. The front room had dresses, jewelry, footwear, hats, purses, racy bustiers, skull garlands(say what?!), and scented soaps. Another room had some punk rock t-shirts, super short skirts, belts, more shoes, and one record(I can’t even remember what it was, but it was something from the ‘70s). The third room had more dresses, blouses, coats, blazers, and three dressing rooms. The other storefront is the art gallery. I found a blouse I wanted, but it didn’t have a price on it. One thing I noticed about this place is that about half the things have no price on them. I also noticed you can rent certain clothing. Most of the clothing here is hippie fashion, but not all of it is. Saw some ‘50s, late ‘70s, and ‘80s stuff, but not nearly as much as I hoped I’d see. I saw a «Punk Rock Forever» tee, as well as a David Bowie Space Oddity tee. Oh, and there was a thick red belt with skulls on it, too. They even had a pair of ruby slippers. Yep. Men will find very little for themselves here unless they’re crossdressers. I think I saw one male blazer while I was there. So ladies, it’s mostly about YOU! I bought the dress and blouse, though I think each was a bit overpriced. This is definitely a fun place to look around, as you won’t find too many vintage clothing stores in NW Austin, but it won’t be the primary place I shop for clothes. I saw several things I wanted, but I certainly couldn’t afford to buy more than a couple of things. I spent several minutes talking to Lovey, the owner, about the various restaurants in the shopping center. She had very positive things to say about all of them, and she also mentioned she’s going to eventually open up a tea room in her shop. It would feature tea, of course, and organic salads and such. She made it sound really great, so ask her about it if you stop in. I can’t remember everything she said about it, unfortunately, and I don’t know when she’s planning to open the tea parlor. One thing that struck me as odd about Lovey’s Loot: The place concentrated fully on vintage clothing, yet the music playing was current rock. I would have felt more in the buying mood if she’d been playing Bob Dylan or The Byrds, or The Beatles.
