Los Jaliscienses is a good place to grab some eats. My first time trying their food was in 2014. I was in desperation for a taco and wanted to try a new place. I always looked at the building and thought about how it’s shape resembles a conquistadors helmet. Uniquely positioned off the highway and enough orange paint on the façade to draw attention. The place sits next to a budget motel. The parking is a little tight. You walk past a pool the color of seafoam green. You enter and see a few sombrero and other things for sale. The smell of food wafts the air and you get hungry. The women here don’t all speak fluent English. However sometimes one lady will converse well enough and you get your order in. My Wife and I both enjoy their tacos. She enjoys a avocado, egg and potato. She also likes a sausage and egg. You like the migas taco with ham, potato, egg and cheese and sausage potatoes egg and cheese. Call ahead and if the ome lady ia there your order will be ready. Oh yeah flour over corn at this place, not a homemade tortilla but delivers.

This place it great the portions are good for the price. Advice of you come here it is small I don’t know about karaōke and yes the staff is not speak good english but the for is ready fast and of you want refills you need to ask for them. This is not like most other places. You just have to ask and they will gladly serve you. All in all this place is great just be patient

Came here tonight based on other reviewers experiences, and my husband and I both had the nachos supreme and Cokes. The nachos were just want we wanted, smothered in queso, meat, beans. The only reason I’m leaving one star though is because our meal, which should have totaled $ 25, ended up being $ 39. I tried to ask the man who rang it up about the price and all he said was that it was right. The music was blaring and my husband didn’t want to make a scene, so we left, but I’m very upset that two plates of nachos and two sodas cost what we would pay at a much nicer restaurant. We won’t be back.

*Spoiler Alert: The staff barely speaks English here and most of the patrons are Spanish-speaking. The only reason I attempted to come here was because the motel I was staying at says they have a deal with the restaurant for $ 3 breakfast. The normal breakfast price in the morning is $ 4.50, so you are essentially saving $ 1.50 per entrée. Well, I showed up around 10:55 although the clock they had on the wall was three minutes fast. We asked the waitress what the price would be, and she quoted the price after 11am. I inquired about the deal with the motel, and she had no idea. She attempted to ask her more«senior» coworker, and even that person did not know what was going on. They also were seaming to be too strict about the time limit for the breakfast deal, so I just left. As a side note: the parking here is confusing and the building interior is a small hole in the wall, if you like that sort of feel. Maybe the food is okay, but the establishment does not deliver on its promises. Will not be back again.

LOVE the breakfast tacos! That’s all I’ve ever eaten from there but definitely worth it. The salsa verde is one of my favorites in town.

My God is all I have to say… I finally feel fulfilled! I’m not being dramatic the super chicken burrito was damn good. Every bite was pure unadulterated heaven. Sooooo authentic just like my favorite place in California! I FINALLY found a place that wasn’t Tex Mex. The chicken was seasoned to absolute perfection and it was SO tender!!! Never in my life have I indulged on chicken this tasty, this divine, this superb! I work right across the street and never knew this hidden gem existed for 3 years. I lost out for 3 years!!! Oh and the chicken tacos are phenominal. I bring them to my Executive Chef who says they are the best he’s tasted… in life… ever…(just sayin)

Very slow service. I never got a water refill, one person in my group finished eating before the last person finally got their food. My order was wrong, no complimentary chips and salsa. Horrible experience.

Do not come here if you are going in a group at night and wish to visit with your friends because the karaōke will be too loud for any of that. However, the food taste great and they have affordable daily specials for $ 6.99(if I remember correctly) which is great seeing as their enchilada plate is over $ 10 normally. A little pricey for me if you aren’t taking advantage of their specials. My boyfriend loves the salsa that comes with the chips.(I’m a wimp and both were too spicy for me to enjoy :() I’m only giving three stars because each night I came here(once on Tuesday, then on a Friday) the karaōke was waaaaay too loud for the small building and because both nights my table never got drink refills. But the food is great and the location is very convenient to where I live which will keep my business!

Looking at it from outside I had mixed reactions since it looked fancy from outside but also was attached to a motel and swimming pool of that motel. i had read pretty good reviews of this place so went inside anyways. The inside is not that great either, just a regular not so fancy place. You can pick any empty spot and sit unlike other places where they come and seat you. Service was pretty fast. And as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover, you can say that for this restaurant. The food was amazing. I guess the one that I ordered was Pechunga… something. Basically Chicken breast covered in their specialty Chipotle sauce and with beans, avacado and salad. The Sauce is very hot and if you are not used to hot stuff, then be careful while trying this. I am used to eating level 4 and 5 of 5 hotness and hence I didn’t mind this. The taste was amazing in spite of the hotness unlike many restaurants who just add the spicy hotness for the sake of it. I had also ordered the Cocktail Shrimp which I feel was not great as I have had better ones before and hence my rating of 4. If you are around, I would definitely suggest you to try this again. they had a karaōke going on on Sunday evening so if you want to hear the spanish songs and sing them, this is the place too.

So my husband and I are visiting ATX and wanted some authentic Mexican. This place happened to be right near where we were staying and had some good reviews, so we decided to check it out. Pulling up in the parking lot, we almost went elsewhere, but glad we didn’t. The food was nothing fancy, but tasted excellent! I am a firm believer in if the locals go there, then its gotta be good and this was true for this place. The owner even started doing some karaōke which one would think to be annoying, but it was in Spanish and fit the setting. We enjoyed it!

I’m not gonna lie, this place is off on the side of the road next to a motel looking area, so I was a little apprehensive. Even after looking at a swimming pool near it with murky green water that hadn’t been cleaned for years, we decided to check out this restaurant to try and get some authentic Mexican food. Man, was I glad we did. The store itself is super clean and cute, with a nice Mexican flair to it. After we sat down we were given chips with three different dipping sauces(all of them were absolutely delicious). We ended up ordering the super burrito and the burrito special. My mouth almost couldn’t handle the awesomeness of this food. The super burrito was about the size of a small baby and was packed full of rice cheese chickens and lord know what other delicious spices. The chicken in both burritos was perfectly seasoned and incredibly juicy. The burrito special had a gravy that came on top and was also smothered with bright orange cheddar cheese. I couldn’t have asked for a better sauce! This place is awesome. It’s completely authentic Mexican food that is out of this world. Also, if you’re lucky like us, you may get to see a live Mariachi band perform as well. Please check this place out. It’s so worth it. I swear this restaurant could serve me some kind of burrito with a sauce that looked like the gross swampy pool water and I would guarantee it would taste good!

I love this place sooo much. The food is very fresh and authentic and the service its always on point. I love the 3 salsas they give you especially the green one, its not too spicy and super creamy. My boyfriend always looks for a good chimichanga every place we go but here is hands down his favorite and he doesnt order it anywhere else. I always love the fajita ranchera. All this talk about food is making me hungry!!!

It was a beautiful morning, weather-wise, here in Austin, TX last Friday but the morning rush hour traffic was horrible. I needed a spot that I could go to for a stout breakfast before my three hour road trip to Huntsville, TX. I wanted to avoid having to use I-35 at all cost so I found this little hidden gem, Los Jaliscienses(very interesting architecture), which is very close to me and easy to get to via backstreets. I was starving so it did not take me long to peruse the menu and I immediately saw something that caught my attention so I ordered it, the Farmer’s Omelette, three large eggs with sausage, bacon, ham, bell peppers & onions. The food was great but the service needed a bit of fine tuning. I will most definitely return as I saw items on the menu that I would like to try plus as I was exiting the establishment, I noticed a cooler with ‘refreshments’ with authority that I will wash down my meal with instead of water and coffee.

This was my first time trying Los Jaliscienses. This is a great place for lunch and the food is very fresh. I really enjoyed it… chips, salsa, everything! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for good tex-mex/taqueria food at a reasonable price. The chicken tortilla soup is popular and it is dee-licious! I’ll be back for sure! ;-)

Came here with my family looking only for a good taco place. Ended up getting enchiladas and chimichangas. I give this place a 5 out of 5 because not only did the food taste outstanding, the mariachi karaōke set a very unique atmosphere. I felt like I was in another country but didn’t feel different sitting in there being the only black people. The staff was friendly and earned their tip tonight. I would definitely go there again.

I went here for lunch and ordered and obscene quantity of breakfast food. I got the migas plate with carne asada which was more than enough for a meal and completely delicious. Foolishly, having not seen the size of the breakfast plate, I also got a chorizo/egg/cheese taco which was completely unnecessary for two reasons: in addition to being more food than I needed, it wasn’t that great. It wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t get it again. We also got chips and queso which, while good for a Mexican(as opposed to tex-mex) restaurant, is also totally skippable. The big con is that, despite the very reasonable menu prices, the numbers the cashier typed into the registered made absolutely no sense. My friend just ordered migas with meat which was supposed to be $ 9.99 but his total was somehow $ 13. I got that plus a taco and my total was $ 15 and change. My other friend got migas without meat($ 6.50) and queso and paid $ 15 and change. Maybe we were paying the gringo tax?

limited parking and i cant stress that enough, if you are pressed for time order ahead. Traditional Mexican décor inside complete with Mexican candy display case at the register with all the usual and expected candies, catholic saints that protect the establishment and in case you don’t know what you want, a large banner with the top favorites. I decided to go with the fajita quesadilla, as i’m waiting for my order and looking around i noticed its a pretty small place, i wouldn’t recommend large parties(4+). they also have breakfast tacos, so that will be my next visit. i got my order and looked at the contents from inside my car. my immediate thought was«DON’T MESSWITHMYEMOTIONS» because the quesadilla was cut up and appeared small, but once i got to my office and unwrapped(see picture) it was bigger than i expected(TWSS!) i ate half, now i’m full. the green sauce could be spicier but then again i’m a hot sauce masochist. food is alright, nothing crazy good but still ok, it could be a little bit less greasy but its fine.

While apartment hunting in Austin, my friend and I were staying at the Rodeway Inn & Suites hotel that is next door to Los Jaliscienses. Apparently the hotel and the restaurant had a partnership because there was a menu available in our room. So after driving around the city all day, we’ve decided to check out the restaurant since we were too tired to search for anywhere else to eat. We didn’t expect too much from this restaurant, since we were the only ones parked in their parking lot. However, after we tried their food, we were very satisfied! First let me describe the atmosphere. The restaurant was very roomy. Maybe it felt that way since we were the only ones eating there at the time. It was also really quiet. There was no music playing in the background at all. The only ambiance in the place was the two women making your order. I’m not saying this is bad or anything, it was just a little awkward. The service was friendly. They were very straight to the point. They took your order and got right to it, which was all we wanted really. I decided to try the Carne Asada. The picture in the menu made it look delicious. Also, I was craving a steak in my belly. When we were finally served our food, everything tasted great! From the appetizers to the meal. My steak was charred just right and the inside was juicy. The onions, peppers, beans, tomatoes, and chopped avocados complimented each other nicely. For a meal that was around $ 10, they definitely offered more than enough food to fill you up. I’m sure there are other Mexican restaurants in Austin that is just as good or better. However, if you’re staying at the Rodeway Inn, Los Jaliscienses is definitely worth a visit while you’re there.

Gutes, einfaches mexikanisches Essen.
