Livy Lu Snowballs

These are not your average snow cones. Amazing combinations involving ice cream, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, candies and more combine to create truly awesome taste sensations. So far I’ve had the Cajun Queen and The Big Easy and both are great! I can’t wait to try something new next time.

Love the special menu they have. It’s nice to be able to order ice cream with the snow balls! And the ice cream is really, really good! Best part for me is the sugar free menu. Limited when I went, but not the typical flavors offered. I like not having to always get cherry. Last time we went, the sugar free flavors were wedding cake, tigers blood and pink lemonade. Fun!

To call Livy Lu’s New Orleans Snowballs a «guilty pleasure» is a complete utter statement. From the moment I first tasted the cherry and carrot cake snowballs, my life was forever altered for the better. Absolutely amazing and oh so good! You won’t find a more incredible dessert truck out there. I’m a huge fan and would recommend ‘em to anyone who needs a bit of greatness in their day! Kudos to Livy Lu! Keep up the outstanding work!

Snow cones are 1989. Snow balls are entirely different animals and Livy Lu’s are the best for my money. Why? Every time I’m there the staff helps me create a unique flavor or recommends the perfect fluffy snow mix of tasty natural sugar. Owner gave my group samples and made sure we all loved our choices. Last time I was there I had a Maceman mixed up by the creator. Warning… you may want to go with two smalls so you get to try several different ones rather than committing to one big one. They are that addicting. I’ll be back.

Fantastic snow balls! These are real New Orleans style snowballs, not the cheap shaved ice you find elsewhere. Big flavor selection and some delicious «specialty» items — the owner suggested carrot cake, which I was skeptical of but turned out to be the best snow cone I’ve ever had. Deep Blue Sea was yummy too. Lots of mixins, good prices. Yum!

By far the best shaved ice/​snowball/​snowcone thing I have ever had. They take the concept to a new level.
At Livy Lu’ I could indulge my foodie side to my hearts content.
Of course they have the tried and true favorites that we all know, but it’s this place’s creativity that sets it apart from all the others.
For instance I tried the one called The Big Easy (carrot cake, bluebell ice cream, evaporated milk and condensed milk) with a little reservation but boy was I surprised it may be the best dessert I’ve ever had. It’s hard to think of snowcones or snowballs as they call them, as a dessert but Livy Lu’s has done it.
My friend had the Tres Leches (wedding cake, bluebell vanilla ice cream, evaporated Milk and condensed milk). This was equally fantastic.
One of my kids had the Deep Blue Sea (coconut, blue raspberry, topped with Swedish fish candy) it maybe tough to ever get her to eat anything else.
Add to this the super friendly family oriented staff and it’s a must try for south Austin.
