I don’t like writing negative reviews but sometimes its warranted. This particular location is nearest me and in an effort to save money, I buy items online and then have them shipped to this site which is my most convenient location. I have done this at least three times, possibly more, but the last three visits I remember simply because the customer service is terrible. The staff lose interest in being helpful when I tell them I am there to pick up my online items. I usually want to look around at the deals while I’m there but the staff that greeted me just wander off. They know I’m not going to spend much more so they leave me alone. LB is a pricey place so I take an extra effort to look at sales. When I do want to pickup my items and maybe make an additional purchase, the scene at the register is the same way every time: there is one staff member ringing up customers(although I have often had to wait for just that one person to begin the checkout process) and one staff member hovering around the counter, poking at stuff around the area but not actually assisting. This is irritating as the checkout process seems to require that every item is inspected for price tag accuracy and then every single item is painstakingly, slowly wrapped and bagged. Today, one woman, just one person, was paying for three items, the staff checking her out poked through all her items, gave personal commentary, and switched the conversation to her awesome double major and how interesting her studies are, while the other staff attendant, knowing full well I had items to pickup, just stood around poking at items on the counter — oh, btw lady, continue to ignore me and my fussy, crying toddler — and then decided to assist with my package. Why the first lady checking out didn’t speed it up seeing another person waiting(thinking extended conversation was somehow appropriate) or why the other assistant decided to just let me chill for an unreasonable amount of time before helping me, I’ll never know. This is just today’s incident. The last two visits were similar: loosing interest when I tell them why I’m there, excessive conversation with the customers at checkout while every so slowly bagging items, staffers that hang about instead of checking people out or at least assisting the existing transaction to speed it up. I’ve worked in customer service for years, I know what pisses people off and how to step up, assist, and correct the situation, not make it worse. I take some fault in this, I should have spoken up, ‘hey I need to get going and as you can see, my kid’s not doing so great, can we speed this up?’ But I always assume there is a reasonable explanation for poor behavior, but it turns out there isn’t and I end up kicking myself for putting up with poor customer service. I’m either choosing another location in future or paying the shipping/handling fees. I love LB bras and that’s why I continue to shop there.

I refuse going to a place where the initials of Lane Bryant are LB which stands for pound!!! I have been to this store and am forever disappointed with the ITEMS… UGH! I am a plus size. I don’t want to look like a stuffed floral tent, though. I want to stay away from the stripes. I hate the subliminal message that LBs send to all of us that fit this mold, so to speak. The fashion here is terrible. This is not the fault of the employees, however, whoever came up with this name(along with the ridiculous clothing) is just cruel. Plus, Lane Bryant sounds like she is an unhappy old, wide girl. Not having it.

I was in the store last Friday looking for some professional clothing for a new job. Patricia really went out of her way to help me pick out clothes and ran back and forth to get different sizes. I truely felt like I had my own personal shopper there with me. Patricia has great taste and helped me put together some outfits that I am so happy with. I really hate shopping and was dreading having to do it, but I had the best shopping experience I have ever had that day. I will definitely shop at this store again.

Really disappointing experience. I bought a pair of really cool boots 5 weeks ago(I don’t want this review to take away from the boots, they were/are super cool) at this store and wore them a grand total of 5 times. Before long, the elastic gave out on them. One night, the heelcap of the boot completely detatched from its faux leather counter. In the middle of a music festival. How embarrasing! The next morning, I took them in with a digital copy of my bank record to show that i’d only had them for 5 weeks. I didn’t want a refund, I only wanted to exchange them for a new pair the same pair of boots I already had. I’d done my research and was well aware of the 60 day return policy(with receipt) when I went in. The staff of three were not having any of it. Not only did they not want to hear my explanation, they told me it was obvious i’d gotten my use out of them, and that the only thing they could do was give me half off on the same pair of the same boots. To top that, that pair had been marked down to $ 55, so i’d get about $ 26 back on a pair of boots i paid nearly $ 100 for! They didn’t ask to see my receipt, didn’t offer to look up my information, they took one look at my poor shoes and made an informal offer to give me half off a pair of now discounted boots. They each said that they’d had the same boots for various periods of time longer than me and that they didn’t look as bad as mine. One girl said she’d had them for 2 years, which I just don’t believe. Finally, the woman who i’m assuming is the manager told me about a place where she takes her husband’s boots, it’s in South Austin, she said, but didn’t know of a name or exact location. It felt like she was just trying to get me out of the store. I went in as level headed and as pleasant as I could possibly be. I never raised my voice, I wasn’t rude or unreasonable. I’ve spent 3 years trying to find a pair of reasonable wide calf boots, and thought my footwear dreams had come true when I found this lovely pair of brown knee high zip ups. Not only did I not receive any resolution on the matter, I was completely, completely embarrased, and felt a little bullied in to believing that I was wrong by these women, as other customers in the store saw them all but usher me out. I’ve never had a bad experience at Lane Bryant and don’t know anyone else who has either, but this has definitely changed that. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

It is very hard to find decent clothing for fuller figures that don’t make you look 50 years old or drab. Lane Bryant does a pretty good job serving its younger clientele, as well as older clientele ;). Their clothes can be a bit pricey, but they have awesome sales and promotions that make it more affordable. Their bras are pretty awesome and so are their underwear. The staff at this location are friendly, especially Jen. They also do free site to store delivery so that you can purchase items online that are not sold in stores and pick them up for no shipping and handling charges which is nice.
