Lamb’s Tire & Automotive

These scammers intentionally misrepresented to me that I had an oil leak from my Ford Mustang’s oil filter adapter and that this expensive part needed to be replaced. They must make a pattern of this because it’s the SECOND time they’ve tried to scam me with the same story — the other being 2 – 3 years ago when I had a different oil leak that was repaired by replacing the oil filter gasket (the true problem), the same thing that was the true problem this time. I had forgotten about my bad experience back then until Lamb’s reminded me by telling me I never got it replaced last time they diagnosed it. This reminded me that last time, like this time, I took it for a second opinion and that the reputable place giving that second opinion said it was not the adapter at all. This reputable shop and three others I checked with confirmed that the adapter is a solid, sturdy manufactured piece that never really cracks, breaks or otherwise fails. I wonder how many of these they intentionally and fraudulently misdiagnose each year, cheating hundreds of unsuspecting customers out of tens of thousands of dollars. I will NEVER use Lamb’s again, which is a real shame since it is right across the street from my office and is very convenient. They have betrayed my trust multiple times, and they will not get anymore chances to make it right.

Chris and the crew at Lamb’s Tire & Automotive on Lake Creek Parkway do awesome work! They took great care of my truck and kept me informed on the progress of their work.
I had two friends recommend that I go to this location and I can see why. They are nice, courteous and professional.

As others have mentioned, this is a bit busy of a location, but it’s certainly worth it. Honestly, I checked around a few other places with equally long or longer wait times, so. ya know, there’s that.
I don’t know why anyone let me get a car, but I have one and am pretty terrible about taking care of it. I went in to get my car inspected, and the gentleman there (I’ve forgotten his name already… he’s the one with the friendly blue eyes) held my hand through the whole thing start to finish — letting me know what they could for me, setting the proper expectations/​time frames, and even recommended an oil for my car to fit with my put-things-off-until-they’re-5-months-and-thousands-of-miles-overdue lifestyle.
The best part is that he was sure to tell me about where I could get my registration done as well — which was also long overdue, and I could tell he mentioned it as he legitimately cared that I got everything taken care of that same day. (By the way, it’s up in Round Rock, and it’s rad, it has a drive-​thru and took all of 5 minutes! Apparently the drive-​thru is closed if they’re super busy, but it’s worth a trip up there if you want to knock both things out at one time — about a 15 minute drive, if that).
He also showed me my grungy air filter, and taught me how to check and see if it needs replacing or not in the future!
I’m always nervous about taking my car in by myself, since you hear all these lovely stories about people getting suckered into doing unnecessary things with their car, but at no point did I feel like I was being swindled or misled. Definitely a trustworthy guy, and provided a great experience.

Lamb’s is the best! After a low tire pressure warning and then finding a nail in my rear-​right tire, I prepared myself for a nightmare of a repair experience as it was the afternoon of New Years Eve. I had heard of Lamb’s and figured it was a local place and couldn’t be too bad. I called first to check their availability to get my car in, and the gentleman on the phone was very friendly and said the wait wouldn’t be bad at all.
I was still skeptical when I arrived, but continued to be impressed. I was greeted at the door, was able to explain the issue and they quickly collected my keys and moved my car into one of the bays. I sat down in their clean, comfortable waiting area, got a decent cup of Keurig coffee from their coffee area and sat down to wait.
After maybe 30 minutes, they called my name, handed my my keys and said I was set to go. When I walked over to the register to pay, he shook his head and said there was no charge, as it was an easy plug repair. Wow I was shocked and pleased! I’d usually paid a small amount for that type of repair, but never had it been free!
Can’t say enough about the guys at Lamb’s. Outstanding everything!

I Went here for a state inspection, and the inspector had just clocked out when I came to the desk. He offered to clock back in and Take care of my inspection, which I thought was great of him to do. The inspection went fine, and the fellas in the front desk area were pleasant and friendly. I really appreciate that I didn’t have to delay the inspection or find another place to go.

Busy location, call ahead to schedule. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re needing a quick oil change during your hour or thirty minute lunch break. Service is average.

I’ve been here about 7 times …
Pros:
* A lot cheaper than the dealership, but no surprise there
* Generally do good work
Cons:
* Disorganized. First time I came in they had no idea who I was despite registering online two days before. Another time, they said they’d do some basic repair thing for free because I brought the part and then they proceeded to completely forget about it. Another time they didn’t call me until late. It’s annoying.
I basically have to babysit my car with these guys.

I use to be loyal to this chain and for years sang their praises. A couple years ago their customer service took a major swan dive and dispite returning multiple times to various locations Ive never been treated the same. If you want an oil change you often get this reaction like your not worth their time and they often try to discourage you with their inflated wait times. I dont know what I was thinking today when my wife needed a flat tire repaired. I got shut down like I had leprosy or something. The funny thing is I went right across the street to pep boys who I never go to and they took us right in no questions asked and it was 5pm.

Won’t be taking our car back there, had them do breaks and they had to re do them twice and they were still messed up. We got rid of the car and our new (used new to us) car is only going to the dealer for service. Save yourself the time and money and don’t take your car or truck there.

This place created a terrible headache of a situation for me,
It started with me taking the car in to have everything done so that it would pass inspection. This included the reverse lights which were out and a fractured lens replacement. I also needed the ac checked out.
They quoted me about 300 $ when i went in to pick up the car Tonbra who was my representative gave me a invoice for over 600 $!!! The worst part of it was that the reverse lights did not work which i found out later and the front turn signal lense was sitting there untouched… What Bullshit…
So i wrote a review… the manager called me and said they wanted to fix the problem for me. I brought it in… the windshield wipers had broken and he kindly fixed them for me, and he fixed the front turn lense, however now the mounting bracket to that light isbroken… hmm coincidence? MAINLY FAILED TO FIX THE REVERSE LIGHTS AGAIN!!! Leaving me with a car that would NOT pass inspection… I took the review down since he at least tried… but since then my car has just been sitting in my lot un registered because it wont pass inspection the to the failure of lamsb tire… This is if the company wants to fix this problem have the corporate office call me, as I DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN.

Reliable and honest car service. I have been going to this Lamb’s location for over 2 years and found them to be excellent. They don’t try to upsell you stuff that you don’t need. They give you options «We can do X or Y and here are the associated costs» so that you can select an option appropriate to your needs. Oil changes are cheaper than at dedicated oil change places (e.g., Jiffy Lube etc.). Highly recommended.

Do not come here and expect them to honor your Goodyear road hazard warranty even though the store is part of the Goodyear service network.
Also, don’t expect common courtesy. The employee knew early in the morning that he wasn’t going to honor my warranty, but for whatever reason, he didn’t bother to call to tell me that. I had to call the store twice to find out about my car. I ended up waiting 5.5 hours for my tire to not get fixed. Then, I had to drive my car down to an actual Goodyear on 41^st street. So, a problem that should have been solved in an hour or two, took EIGHT HOURS!
No one should have to wait 8 hours to get their car fixed.

FIrst off I’d like to state that I have never gone to Lamb’s for tire service because I have found other places to be cheaper and a better deal. What I do know is that I have had great service with both oil changes and brake service. The staff has always been friendly and in general I haven’t felt pressured to get much extra. I’ve declined several times without much more than a, «Sure thing we’ll get started.» I don’t know the guys by name but I have never have a problem with any person in particular. Their hours aren’t great. I’d recommend dropping off rather than staying. Weekends are always packed.

Really a bunch of crooks, Tony Jones, Service Consultant told be a bunch of lie about tire leaks and damage; without moving the car an inch; since it got dropped off in the morning. I made a note with a chalk mark on the tire, identifying where the issue is and that mark remained there unmoved!!!
Even had the audacity of telling that I need all new tires. They did not even fill the tire with air, that I did later in a service station and the Tire-​Pressure alert light is gone. Tony had the audacity to blatantly lie on my face that the tire is filled with air. I wish I did not have to give 1 star!!!

After reading this, they tracked me down and this morning management called.
Caller did confirm:
1) A technician took the car in, saw a cut mark in the bottom of the tire. I was invited to come back so that he can point that cut mark to me.
2) There has been a miss-​communication between the shop and front office about filling the tire with air!!! … very interesting …
I told that another shop already fixed and rotated my tires for free. Told me that the tires should go for another 10,000 miles and did not mention anything about irreparable patch or cut-​mark!!! Laughed when I showed them the $ 944 worth of tire replacement «advice» with a credit card application for $ 160 off *rebate*!!!
I was offered a free oil change, that I refused because I get that lifetime free from the dealer for buying the brand new Sienna 2011 in May 2010.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I’m not a «car guy» but they were able to answer all of my questions. Extremely friendly staff and quick service. Can’t beat the free WiFi and Keurig coffee machine either! Come visit these guys!

I went here to get some new tires. While I was waiting, this guys comes over and frantically tells me that my brake pads are bad and that they only have like a few hundred miles left. I told him I have not noticed any problems or noises with my brakes and tell him no I don’t want them. He then got a very scary and worried look on his face telling me that it is not safe to drive my car like that and that my brakes are going to quit working any day now. I again tell him no and he kept asking me «are you sure, we can do it right now «. I told him look, I just want the tires and nothing else and he says ok but I warned you. I got very suspicious of this guy’s behavior and the way he tried to scare me into getting these brake pads. The next day I took my car to the dealership for a brake inspection and was told my brake pads are FINE AND STILL HAVE ABOUT 10,000 MILES LEFT ON THEM. I knew this guy was trying to upsell me something I didn’t need. I will never go to a Lamb’s again.

Several weeks ago, I had my mother’s car in because it was running very rough. I got a call from Pat saying it would be $ 900. I think I said something to the effect of WTF! In any event, he was recommending a HOST of services which had absolutely NOTHING to do with the problem for which we brought the car in, things other than just fixing the running rough. After two phone conversations with PAT, he explained that the spark plug wires were worn and grounding on the engine block. He would be happy to replace them and the spark plugs for the small ransom of $ 300. Okay, I’m know a little about cars and spark plug wires DON’T cost that, but he had my over a barrel, since it was my mom’s car and she needed it. I did question him and he implied they are difficult to get to. If you’re interested, here’s how easy they are in fact to access
I went ahead and had him do the service. I also asked him to please clean the engine, there was a tremendous amount of old oil and grime on the motor, all over. I told him I suspected she had an oil leak and he agreed. We discussed cleaning the engine so we could try and identify where the leak was coming from. He reiterated what I’d suggested and for the exact same reason. He said he could do that and it would be $ 50 bucks. I said fine, do it.
When I called him to give him my credit card information, when the service was completed, he gave me the total which didn’t add up to the wire replacement and the engine clean, it was of course MORE. He explained there was a diagnostic fee or $ 89. I told him that no other service center charges a diagnostic fee IF you get the work done, which we did. After some wrangling, he said he would cut the diag. fee… gee thanks! Yesterday, my mother came by for me to check her oil. I opened the hood and realized they had NOT cleaned the motor. The top, the sides, the bottom, there is NO evidence that they, in any way shape or form, cleaned this motor. I asked my mom to contact them and to have them do it since we paid for it. She called them and here’s what PAT told her, «He said that they only did the spray (hand held) carb. cleaner. they didn’t do the underside because they don’t do that… don’t have a pressure hose.» Carb cleaner, really??? I asked for an engine cleaning and he said they could do that. This motor was NOT cleaned, not even with carb. Spray. There is dirt and grime all over, not just underneath. By the way Pat, they make this stuff called SimpleGreen and you can use a water hose and a brush.
Needless to say, we will NEVER take another vehicle to Lamb’s automotive. They are at least negligent and incompetent or at worst, thieves. I wish I could give ZERO stars. I will go on my personal rampage to ensure that everyone on this planet knows.
