Great service, but be prepared to pay! My primary dentist, Dr. Tomasik, referred me to to Dr. James for a recent root canal. See review below: The good: –beautiful office –professional staff The bad: –charged $ 250 for new patient fee and x-rays(that could have been transferred over as I just got them 24 hours prior) –charged $ 250 for one sedation pill(refused to let me fill the prescription at CVS ahead of time which would have cost $ 10) –charged me $ 1,100 for a root canal The ugly: –My total bill was $ 1,600 of which my insurance only paid $ 600(Many insurance plans don’t cover sedation) I walked out of there spending $ 1,100PLUS the $ 1,000 I’ll have to pay my primary dentist for a crown. Total cost = 2,000!!! I’ve had the unfortunate situation to get a root canal and crown in the past, and have NEVER paid this amount. I’d expect $ 1,000 out of pocket, but $ 2,000 is ridiculous. Buyer beware.

I’ll begin by saying I am a wuss when it comes to dental issues(ever see the movie«Marathon Man» with Dustin Hoffman?). Following a routine visit to my primary dentist, it was noted that a tooth I was having some discomfort with was probably due to a fracture. With referral in hand, I visited Dr. James’ office. News was not good, unfortunately, and I was advised on two options: root canal or possible extraction of the tooth followed by an implant. Neither one an easy decision. I chose to try the root canal and hope it would work as it’s better to try to save the original tooth. The office got me scheduled very quickly. As my anxiety increased, the office was incredible in easing me through this process. Everyone there was empathetic and understanding, keeping me fully updated with what to expect and what was happening at any given moment. In the end, this was almost completely painless and less uncomfortable than many traditional fillings I have received over the years. Now I have one more step with my primary dentist to complete but the pain is gone.

My husband had a root canal last Friday and was eating steak by Sunday night. Not only was the office staff wonderful, the dentist was very professional and willing to discuss all aspects of the procedure. Thereby, easing all concerns and any issues my husband and I had regarding the procedure, payments, and post surgery. A wonderful job – I know – I was raised by a dentist!

My fiancé and I were in search for someone to remove a silver point(outdated technique) from my fiancées gums. It was very uncomfortable for him and after researching quite a bit he found Dr. Brian at Lakeway. We have never had an experience like this with any medical staff or doctor. It is so comforting and they go above and beyond to make sure we both felt comfortable. I would highly recommend Lakeway Endodontics to anyone in the area. From the moment you step in the door from the moment you leave. Absolutely amazing staff and a remarkable doctor. Highly impressed.

I was terrified to have a root canal, as I had heard it was an awful thing to go through. But I felt so much better after I arrived at Dr James’ office and he and his staff put me at ease. The root canal went perfectly and I didn’t feel any pain, even later that afternoon when the Novocain wore off… no pain! He was able to get me in right away too. If you need a root canal, please go to Dr James, and don’t be afraid.
