Happened upon this truck next to the Holiday Inn. First things first, the sauce for the tacos is to die for… literally! It is tasty, but probably the hottest thing I’ve ever put into my mouth and I’ve traveled the world trying many different local foods. OMG, I was sweating and had no liquid with my order. The taco, however, was very tasty and like others have written, the tortilla is awesome. $ 4 for 2 fajita beef street tacos, à la carte, is a fair price. The menu is in Spanish only and the girl working the truck knew almost no English. So, asking my usual, «What’s the best thing you have and what do people come back for to eat?» got a blank stare. 2 small, tasty tacos it was and I was pleased. I’d do it again, WITHOUT the sauce! It was a bummer that I put the sauce all over my first taco, but I ate it anyway. I’ll pay for it later. Lastly, a note about the sauce would help, but there may even be one that I can’t read. Great food truck! Yum! BTW, cash only

Moved to food trailer park at South Lamar and Bluebonnet. Better than homemade. Incredibly delicious, authentic food, served on classy clay plates with flavorful salsas, all made to order by pleasant, happy ladies. This is real Mexican food. Key ingredients, including the gordita shells, are made from scratch. Support this business; they do it right!

This the by far the best taco stand in Austin. Homemade tortillas and made with live. All the ladies that work here are saints.

This gem is one of my all time favorite street taco places around Austin. It’s in the gas station parking lot at the south east corner of Lamar and Morrow. They are super tasty and super cheap. You’ll find all the usual favorites like breakfast tacos, bistec, barbacoa, fajitas, etc. What really sets Gordita Loca apart are the unique items like bistec con papas and azado de puerco verde. I have not seen those items anywhere else in Austin. The tortillas are also made fresh. There is definitely that grandma’s secret recipe feel about this place. You have to try this place. Cash only Edit: If you are biking, by any chance, please do yourself a favor and ask for a plastic bag. Don’t be a bone head like me. Paper bags get wet and break. Tacos don’t taste very good off the ground.
