Found on a search for vegan food, and I was pleased to see that the namesake dish fell into that category. A lovely juxtaposition of fresh and spicy, with tofu that had a nice crunch without being breaded. If you’re big on saucy food, you’ll want to request extra for this dish, because the sauce is delicious(and spicy, which you may consider a plus or minus). The staff is friendly, and will provide suggestions if you’re not quite sure where to start. A hidden gem, but worth finding.

My expectations weren’t that high, given the price and convenience factor. The food wasn’t good. I ordered the chicken and broccoli which had far more vegetables in it than it did chicken. My girlfriend had the pad thai, which was a little dry but it tasted better than mine did. It took an hour to go two miles, which isn’t a big deal to me; just so you’re aware. I may order again to give it another shot, but honestly, pay the extra for Favor and get another restaurant for delivery. Dine-in may have a different experience.

I recently moved away and I already miss this place. Ordering from them is a breeze — you can do it online through Unilocal. The food is always amazing! Every now and then, they forget a part of your order but I understand that it can happen. My food always arrived within an appropriate time limit 30 – 45 mins and was always delicious.

I wanted to try a new place and stumbled on Java here on Unilocal.A lot of places don’t deliver to my work, so I was excited to see a highly rated place that does and has a wide variety of options available. It took ANHOURAND A HALFTODELIVERMYFOOD!!! Apparently their driver went on a delivery and never came back! So they remade my meal and the cook delivered it himself — and it was hot and fresh. They refunded my delivery fee and tip in cash and the cook apologized profusely for the delay. *Excellent customer Service!* The food — I had pot stickers, egg drop soup, cheese won tons and garlic beef w/mushrooms. Everything is absolutely delicious. This is definitely my new go to for Asian food!

This wasn’t absolute garbage, which is why it gets two starts. Make sure you have plenty of soy sauce, cause you’ll need it. The egg drop soup… I tried a couple spoonfuls. Just not good. It was the only warm thing out of my three options. I also order the pork egg rolls. They were slightly warm at best and soggy from being trapped in the bag for possibly twenty minutes, cooling down before they were delivered, the condensation from the heat leaving which made them chewy instead of crunchy. The sauce on the spicy chicken was thick and sweet. No spice at all. The rice for the chicken was insanely mushy and disgusting. The easiest thing to make out of all of it was messed up, that isn’t promising for everything else. I gave the rest of everything to my roommate. I ALWAYS eat my leftovers but I couldn’t bring myself to eat anymore of it and he’s the human vacuum, so don’t take him being able to finish the meal as a redeeming factor for this food. On top of it all, it took over an hour to get to my apt. 1. I live less than a mile away and 2. For this food being shit quality, you’d think it wouldn’t take long. I figured I’d try something new. Next time, I won’t be so lazy and I’ll use the extra delivery money I spent on this place to tip the servers at 888 when I get a pickup order from them. It’s definitely worth the few extra bucks to go to 888.

I just can’t anymore. There’s not many Asian food delivery options around here and that’s the only reason I’ve ordered with Java a few times. But the nightmare ends today. The last time I ordered shrimp fried rice — I got chicken. And I’m a pescetarian and I almost ate it! They quickly sent a new one my way. But this time I ordered shrimp with cashews. The cashews were completely burnt and chewy. #supergross Make sure to check out the photo I posted. The sauce is also very watery and lacking any sort of flavor. I’m just glad they gave me some soy sauce… one packet. I don’t think mediocre Asian food is too much to ask for but this is far below even being considered mediocre. Spend the extra fee and Favor some 888. Lesson learned.

I’ve thought about letting them cater my wedding, and probably marry the food if it were legal as well. It looks like most of their business is delivery, which, when you’re lazy/tired/a fat ass/etc is the best thing in the world. My only semi compliant is some of their drivers don’t speak English so if there’s a problem getting to your resident, good luck! But once the food is there, good luck not finishing their American sized portions. Always order their lemongrass chicken vermicelli w peanut sauce. And then order everything else. And if you’re stuck at 888 in their 40+ minutes lines reading this review, just know you could walk down that strip and eat even better food at Java noodle. It never has a line because the rest of us were too lazy and paid for the delivery.

The menu has many selections to choose from either for takeaway or delivery. They have very good quality food and fast service. Placed a delivery ordered and was amazed to receive my food within 25 minutes before their closing time on week days. Would write more on the review, but I’m going just going to keep enjoying my food from Java Noodles.

After a long day of air travel I was craving fried rice for dinner but really didn’t feel the desire to go anywhere so my husband found this place and plus side they deliver. Lo Mein — this was okay. Pluses — the order came with a box full of noodles! — the egg noodles were not overcooked which is a plus compared to other places — the top set of noodles in the to go box were not greasy. Minuses — their could have been a better variety/amount of veggies(their was some shredded cabbage, large broccoli pieces, and some long pieces of green onions) — the bottle set of noodles were sitting in a bit of grease As for the fried rice — as I write this I’m still having this craving as somehow my husband might not have double checked the order online because it wasn’t on the ticket and didn’t make it’s way with the lo mein.

I ordered the sesame chicken and the fried wontons. OMG… Very tasty!!! Great portions. I had so much food that I shared my leftovers with someone and we were both full. Lol. Delivery was pretty quick. Has become my new favorite spot to deliver from.

My brother and I were famished and wanted to eat at 888 but the wait was going to be 25 minutes. There was no way we could wait that long so we walked down to Java Noodles and gave it a shot. Upon entering, there were virtually no customers. bad sign on a Friday night at 7:30pm. Because this restaurant was advertised as Indonesian, we really wanted to try some authentic dishes– however upon asking the waiter. it didn’t appear to be a lot of dishes that fit this category– another bad sign. We finally settled on beef rendang(ordered this due to Unilocal reviews) and the shrimp butterfly in red curry sauce on a random whim. We didn’t want to just order pad thai or fried rice. Why not something new? It was made pretty quick so that was very much appreciated(granted, the restaurant barely had any customers but it did look like a lot of people order take out). We were so impressed with the quality and taste but it may be because we not expecting anything at all. My brother really enjoyed the beef rendang which had a nice soft spicy kick loaded with great spices. I latched on to the fried shrimp in the red curry sauce. Anyone who doesn’t like onions should make sure to make the request to not add it on because I’m sure there was probably an entire head on that plate. For me, it was amazing because I LOVE me some onions. The flavor was phenomenal– the sauce was so addicting. We would definitely consider coming back again.

EDIT: Just received a refund for the Pad Thai through EAT24. Wicked happy now. Just ordered through Eat24. There is a minimum $ 20 order(before tax). I ordered Pad Thai with no bean sprouts and tofu, coconut lemon grass soup and crab rangoon(known here in TX as crab wontons?). The order came in a timely manner, which was great considering the shitty traffic. However there must have been a jokester in the kitchen because I received my Pad Thai with an excessive amount of bean sprouts. So excessive, they even gave me a side baggy full of bean sprouts. Now, I love a good gag and generally have good sense of humor when no one is too hurt, but shit, man. It cost me almost $ 33 for your funny buffoonery. That’s the kind of humor that hurts things. Like my wallet.

I get delivery from here pretty often, always really solid. Huge portions and very affordable. Really like the garlic chicken and the shrimp lo mein. I got their crab wontons once though and they were a bit strange, but awesome spring and egg rolls. Very nice staff and delivery crew.

Stopped in here because 888 had a 25 minute wait and broken A/C. It was a little bit disconcerting to walk into this completely empty restaurant. The ambiance is not appealing — dim lights, empty fish tanks, weird and old décor. But the food was decent — the spices in my beef rendang curry were brilliant, I would have preferred smaller pieces of meet and more sauce though. They charge for subbing noodles for rice. The sauce that comes with the potstickers is also good. They do not accept American Express, however, which is a bummer. All in all, I may order takeout from here again, but I wouldn’t be jumping up and down to eat here again.

This place does not get enough credit around these areas of town. Not only do they have fantastic prices on their plates but they have a fantastic priced buffet lunch that is worth every penny and worth skipping my other favorite(888) down the way on buffet days. Plenty of seating and now they have installed a nice flat screen tv stationed on ESPN so you can read and pass the time as you enjoy the amazing hot chicken wings & spicy coconut soup. Parking can sometimes be a little stressful only because the other businesses surrounding Java Noodles has a pretty steady stream of loyal customers as well. Don’t bypass Java Noodles for take-out or dining in. Trust me. Their meat and their specials are amazing!

So I decided to give Java Noodles another chance! I mean lets face it they have been around forever and have quite a bit of creds and I figure I owe them more than a few chances. Let me just subside your anticipation and say right out the door that they didn’t let me down and completely improved my entire perception of them! So I had been researching Indonesian food for a couple of weeks and Beef Rendang had caught my eye a few times as a dish I would love to learn to cook at home. I happened to be searching google for recipes and through some freak accident Java Noodles popped up. I saw a pic of their Beef Rendang and just knew I had to try it. I cancelled my plans to cook and decided to call Java Noodles. I got the Rendang Daging Padang and the Shrimp Rolls. Now the previous times I ordered(well over five) they always took more than an hour to deliver to my work place which really isn’t to far away from their restaurant. This time they got here in 30 minutes. The food was fresh hot and packaged so that it could easily be carried. I was so impressed by how this food was packaged, everything was tied and secured the Rendang was in a plastic Tupperware and none of the sauces had spilled. The driver was also insanely friendly and seemed to know exactly what door to meet at. He even called ahead to let me know he was almost their so I would have time to make my way through my cubicle bee hive to the door. When I ordered the Shrimp Rolls I didn’t really know what to expect. I assumed it may be something similar to an egg roll but decided to chance it as I need to fill out my order so I would meet the minimum purchase for delivery. What I got was some sort of amazing shrimp fritter like thing. The sauce it came with tasted like sweet sweet heaven and I couldn’t have been happier to be eating them. The Beef Rendang was so dang good! It was sort of like a sweet and savory pot roast infused with coconut flavor! Sprinkling toasted coconut on top of the dish was super nice touch and every bite really was filled with savory coconut overload. I was also amazed at the size of the portion you get. Its like almost half a beef roast and could easily be a meal for two to three people. I’ve said Java Noodles was boring before. but apparently I was wrong. If you order properly you can end up eating at least one great meal. I know I said to skip Java Noodles previously but I take it back go there get the Rendang and Shrimp rolls and prepare for an incredible meal!

Maybe we didn’t order the right things, because people I work with are dedicated to this place. We ordered the General Tso’s chicken, which was perfectly adequate, but the Pad Si Ew was dry, and the tofu in it was fried, although I requested steamed(but I ordered online, and for all I know, they don’t DO steamed tofu). The egg drop soup tasted too much of corn for our taste. We’re kind of spoiled by the soup at Hunan Lion. Nothing terrible, and I might try again sometime, ordering different dishes, but our one experience was just ok.

Go back and eat here. Mary is amazing and ask that she be your server. She’s there in the evenings and knows the menu best. There are some stellar servers. Of course, Mary rocks! The food is delicious and M — F lunch is a bargain with a small appetizers buffet area. Happiest eats and treats and servers here!

Food is good for takeout but the INTERIORISGROSS. If you go in this place you will see the owner/managers shit all strung out on some table with papers everywhere right in the middle of the restaurant. The grostesque and empty aquariums are probably that way because they never took care of their fish and THEYALLDIED. I would hate to examine the kitchen at this place because you would probably find atrocious things based on the quality of the dining room. If you dine-in here, get ready for terror. The servers are horrible and don’t care about serving you because this is OBVIOUSLY a place designed for take-out. JAVANOODLEOWNER: remove your silly disgusting«office» from the middle of the restaurant and clean this shit hole up and you might get some business from the extreme overflow at 888!!!

Ordered delivery from Java Noodles using the Eat 24 app. It makes ordering a breeze and gives you an estimated delivery time. There is a delivery fee of $ 4 and a minimum order of $ 20, which I think is pretty reasonable. Things I ordered and notes: 1) spring rolls: these come with tofu but I subbed with shrimp. Pass on these, they have no flavor and the sauces they come with don’t make them any better. 2) Singapore curry noodles: These were OK. It didn’t have the curry flavor I was expecting and was really dry. The portion is huge but it’s mostly noodles with a handful of tofu and bean sprouts. 3) Sayur Lodeh soup — if I had only ordered this dish, my star would probably be a 5. It’s a coconut curry soup with chicken and vegetables(baby corn, napa cabbage, and bamboo shoots) accompanied by white rice. The flavor is rich and has a delicious combination of spices. 4) Delivery took over an hour, had to call in after it was reaching an hour and a half to make sure they received my order. It was a convenient meal but I probably wouldn’t go into the restaurant to dine in. Don’t forget to tip your delivery guy!

Not amazing but like others have said SOLID. I’ve ordered delivery from this place 3 times now. Gets expensive but I think it’s worth it when I get a thai craving. Plus it’s a lot of food! And delivery can take a while but it’s usually faster than your estimated delivery time. I always get the vegetarian #1 Sambal Tahu: Tofu with coconut milk, green beans cabbage and basil and I have them add EXTRAVEGGIES. And it comes w rice. It’s so NOMNOM! I like it a lot! The spring rolls are okay. The steamed veggie dumplings are okay. So Ya i like this place cuz I don’t drive and I get curry cravings often and this place is super reliable for me :) SOLID. Oh the first two times I ordered I got a free beer coozie! Haha.

The food here is great, don’t get me wrong. If we’re talking take-out/delivery this place would get 4 or 5 stars for sure. However, eating inside is one of the strangest experiences. The waitress we had came over about 10 times in a two minute period to take our order, which was bizarre because we were clearly still looking at the menu and deciding. She seemed pretty spun out, teeth grinding, the whole bit. Not something I’m completely unfamiliar with living on the east side and taking the bus occasionally, but not really what I like to experience while eating dinner. I finally had to ask her to please come back in 5 – 10 minutes, so we could actually decide without being interrupted over and over. The eat in menu and the take out menu are completely different. The specials/combos aren’t even on the eat in menu. Ask for a take out menu, that’s where all of the good stuff is. Actually, just order delivery or take out and save yourself the awkward eating experience.
