A quiet, artistic venue is a great spot for a relaxing evening with a significant other or group of friends. Google led us to Pickle Rd which had some major construction going on leading into the venue, so we had to turn back around and find an alternate route. We ended up coming in through Lessin Ln and it was hard to see the entrance. I think they may have had a very small sign indicating it was the turn in. We came in on a Sunday and there was a lady playing an acoustic guitar with periodic appearances from a harmonica player. It’s lowly lit, and has seating in a variety of places including little nooks. The restrooms are clean and they have a basket full of little candies for you to enjoy. They were serving sliders from a small food trailer outside on this night. They have events throughout the week and offer canned wine if that’s your style. They also offered to show us the area where they make the wine.

Checked this out for the first time, and I loved the vibe. The space is very creatively decorated with graphitic art, comfortable seating and plenty of upcycled decoratives. I agree with other posts that mention it would be the perfect setting in which to sip coffee, work on a project, or study. My friends and I were a big fan of the projected crossword puzzles and despite our best efforts to not get sucked into completing one, we caved and ended up spending the next hour trying to get through the puzzle(in our defense the bartender mentioned that it was a harder one). There were a few other games available, but the remainder of our visit was occupied by flipping through the old local yearbooks scattered about. Now for the most important part — THEWINE. I really wish that I could say it was amazing, but to be honest, it was very mediocre for the price. I tried the Cab Franc and the red blend, and out of the two, I like the Cab franc more. Neither wine was very complex, but I did appreciated the hint of pepper in the Cab(this sounds so pretentious, sorry!). I would definitely go back, but I’m pretty sure that the majority of my liquor funds will be spend at the Buzz Mill II opening directly across from Infinite Monkey.

I just love this place! Super cool atmosphere inside – a cool eclectic décor that’s perfect for Austin. The bartenders are very very friendly(they remembered me after my first visit). This is a place where I’d feel comfortable going alone or bringing a group of friends. It isn’t pretentious or stuffy but is cool and relaxed. This is a winery so the make their own wine on the premises. Even though I don’t usually like wine, I really like the wine they have. They serve much of their wine on tap which I really like. I definitely recommend this place!

Fun venue — good wine — loved the people and the winery dogs. I’ll be back for sure. Plus it’s close to Dogtown so I can drop in before I pick up the pup from her day out.

Unique, fun, inspired and one of a kind… These are the words that come to mind when entering IMT. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed with plenty of good vibes. The staff is extremely nice and knowledgeable… Deseree in particular was a pleasure to chat with, she’s hilarious! Her official title is «Speaker of the House,» and I definitely see why. If you’re looking for a new hip spot to hang at, this is it. Don’t let the construction outside detour you!

This place is fantastic for a casual date or a comfortable place to grab a glass of wine by yourself. The atmosphere created there by the décor, the staff, and the space itself completely fit in with the burgeoning south congress/Ben white neighborhood. There are many other excellent businesses that have popped up over the last three years within a block or two in this area and IM fits right in. I like that it’s half a block off congress, tucked away with a big parking lot and not right next to the Busy south congress street. The cheese and meat plate is wonderful but they are also fine with you ordering delivery if you feel like something other than what they offer. We keep going intending on just having one glass at the end of the day, but by the time we leave hours have flown by. It happens every time. It’s just so comfortable to be there, the vibe is so good, and the sitting areas and bars are so well designed you forget you aren’t at home. There are some places you encounter that make you feel like the world still has some little surprises in store for you. Discovering this place was one such surprise. Once you step through the door and have that first glass of wine in your hand time becomes a vague concept that doesn’t apply anymore… Oh and Tuesday Trivia is a Blast! It’s only about an hour long and the topics are just the right amount of random to produce maximum funny times :)

I love this place. My only fear is for when the masses find out about it, because it will be packed all the time. The design, the delicious wine, the wonderful staff, and unique candy in the bathroom(yes, bathroom candy makes a difference!!) have me hooked. Austin is constantly growing with a different restaurant or bar every week, but there is truly nothing like this in town. The design is eclectic, funky and so welcoming — the kind of place that you plan on going for an hour but end up staying for 4. The space is very open, but then it has pockets of coziness with cool vintage furniture that creates an area for great conversation and straight chillin’. Also the wine. The wine is delicious. I love them all, but the pear cider is my fav. As their super friendly and helpful staff keeps pouring you wine, and you’re sitting in one of their Pockets of Coziness(trademarking this term), you’ll end up a bit tipsy, extremely happy and so cozy that you’ll think you are at home. But you’re not home, so when you go back home you’ll just dream about coming back. Before you go home, please make sure to go to the bathroom. They stock it with a bowl of old school candy that will take you back to your childhood. Can’t wait to go back. So happy to have this place in the hood!

Super cool spot! It is the most well designed warehouse/drinking location I’ve ever been in. It’s a great place to study, have a date, have a party(plenty of room for a big group) or bring the family. The wine is amazing and the staff is very attentive, I don’t know much about wine, but the servers listened to our preferences and gave us a free wine tasting of 3 different kinds. The pear cider is really great. I actually bought the cider and chardonnay to bring home for holiday gifts. It’s in cans! It is completely worth it to go off the beaten path and pay them a visit. It’s my new favorite place in Austin, a great spot to spend a rainy afternoon, get away from the bar crowds, chill or impress a date or the family.

Holy moly! This place is so cool. I’ve never been in a space quite like it. Funky, retro furnishings with awesome, custom street art on the walls. We went on a rainy evening and the place could not be more cozy. This is a great place to hang out with friends — with little areas perfect for good conversation. And they have a communal crossword puzzle projected on the wall– genius! The wine was great. Did not know what to expect and I have a picky palette but I was so pleasantly surprised. I had their Blind Watchmaker which is a lovely red blend and their Malbec was great too. But my favorite is their dry hopped pear cider on draft. A little funky, not too sweet and oh so good. I took home a 4 pack of cans! The BEST part though was the staff. Everyone we talked to was so incredibly fun and friendly. They really are aiming to make this a cool, neighborhood joint and I think they are truly succeeding. Bravo!

Favorite new spot in Austin. We went in on Friday last weekend and had to go back for more on Saturday. Started with a free sampling of three wines. The guy serving us was super attentive, asked about our palettes and helped us pick a few that we would each like. Also tried the pear cider– awesome! I’m not a huge cider person but this one was delicious and not too sweet. Besides great wine and great service, I loved the design of this place. Really cool art and style — I had to stop myself at only posting two instagrams. If you’re looking for a cool spot to grab a drink with friends or impress a first date, I’d highly recommend. All of the cool, none of the douche. Two thumbs way up!

Cool place off the beaten path. We went on Saturday, the only day they don’t do tastings… Tried the pear cider which was delicious, one red from a bottle and the Merlot from the can. Their canned wine is not bad, it’s a bit carbonated which is odd but I could see getting used to it. The prices we were surprised by since its at the winery and a glass is more than the cost of buying canned. Cheese plate was awesome and their was live music — happening place.

Hmm, I’m not quite sure where to start. I guess I’ll start with the good stuff. People always want the good news first, right? 1. Awesome concept! Infinite Monkey Theorem hit the nail on its head by creating an environment where people can go and have wine and chill. 2. Lots of seating both intimate and social. Great for single quiet times or group fun 3. Communal crossword puzzle. Who wouldn’t love that!!! 4. Cool music And now for the not so great… 1. The wine. Ehh. It’s ok. I know IMT can be found listed as a winery when google searched, but don’t get your hopes up that it’s any sort of tasting room that you’d find a little further south in Fredericksburg. Definitely drinkable, but just par for flavor 2. The location. Again the concept is desired especially in this S Congress area, but it’s slightly off the beaten path and located in a warehouse that to date appears still under construction. Overall, a cool idea. I think it would be a great study spot. Not so much date worthy though if you’re looking for something like that.

I don’t know if this should be a wine spot, or a hipster coffee shop maybe? Or… a bicycle repair shop. I would say to not come here for your typical wine experience… Is it a quirky fun spot? Yes. Is it Austin, Yes! Is it your typical Vino Vino wine kinda place, no… and that’s fine. The motto«No vineyard. No pretense» is Spot On! Which is refreshing. Location, it’s in a warehouse across from Expose… enough said with that.(Maybe go to Expose, pick up a girl, and say«Hey let me take you out for some wine and a cheese plate across the street when you get off» then go here. Uhhh… Their wines do fall on the lighter side. They do tastings for $ 10, but not on Saturdays apparently. But, if you request nicely, they will hook you up. While the gentleman was pouring, a lady told him«that’s enough» so… yep. They have a projector playing a movie, funky décor, little crossword puzzle thrown onto the wall, chess game on a table… it’s charming, but this spot would be a killer coffee shop to post up and bring your computer to get some work done. Love the monkey artwork. Overall, I would say go check them out! It just maybe belongs on the East Side somewhere. You might love it and find out it’s your thing, and enjoy! I just walked in with the feeling of not wanting to pay more than $ 2 for a glass of wine… These 5 star reviewers, all have written only 2 – 3 reviews since the account was opened… just sayin. «monkey» is not an actual monkey, but a metaphor for an abstract device that produces an endless random sequence of letters and symbols. Hence the random typewriters everywhere behind the bar on the wall.

On my first trip to Denver in 2011 we planned several trips to breweries and when I came across an «urban winery» we had to add that to the mix! We did the tour at that location and I fell in love with the product and their concept. The IMT motto is «No vineyard. No pretense». They proudly source their grapes from Colorado, California and now Texas. This spring I saw them post on Instagram that they would be opening a location in south Austin and I have been anticipating opening day since! Meredith and Aaron moved here this spring to open the IMT in a warehouse off of south Congress(across the street from Expose if you need a marker). This duo is incredible, they know their wine and they have fully embraced Austin(and Austin them). The warehouse needed lots of work and their hard work did indeed pay off. This place is pure awesome. Street art from local artists and Denver artists have tagged the walls with amazing street art. There is ample seating at the bar, comfortable couches, a fun little nook with chairs and tables with monkey themed games like a barrel of monkeys. They serve wine by the glass, they have wine on tap and by the bottle. My favorite is the rose which is their first release using Texas grapes. The Syrah is my favorite red, it is on the lighter side but is full of character. They also do an exceptional dry-hopped pear cider. I am a fan of the cans for tailgating with the rose and white being my favorites. This little area will be expanding. Next door a 24 hour rock climbing gym will be opening and Buzz Mill is opening a second location in a cabin on the same property. This is such a cool new spot to enjoy some delicious wines and it would also be the perfect spot to throw parties. The hours are Monday-Friday 4 – 10 pm, Saturday 2 – 10 pm and Sunday 2 – 8 pm. There are lots of restaurants, bars and stores they carry their wines. They just started carrying a couple of the cans at my watering hole the Dig Pub. Another one of my fav spots they can be found is at Vino Volo, you can purchase bottles and cans to go right by your gate.
