I first ‘discovered’ Alex’s immense talent at a birthday party at Auditorium Shores for his dog, Sid. Alex had a photo booth set up for dogs (and their owners!). I found him super personable and with a great spirit that folks and dogs alike are drawn to. He snapped what is now my favorite picture of me and my pooch, and since then I’ve also see his work from other events, and it’s all quite gorgeous. in fact, I plan to use him to shoot my own small business later this year.

I met Alex when he was given the unique challenge of photographing a makeup artist’s portfolio. He was working with 5 or 6 different women with unique styles and backgrounds, and somehow managed to not only make us all work together, but produce some amazing photographs with professionalism and ease. He made us all look good and, most importantly, the artist got the beautiful shots she needed for her portfolio.

I know Alex offers a wide variety of things, but I came across him after one of our kickball games at Gibson Bar. He had a photo booth setup. This consisted of an awesome camera, a big beautiful frame, and Alex. It wasn’t a box type of photo booth, but rather a backdrop and you pose however you please. Shoot, I’m not really one to want to get my photo taken again and again, but that frame just begged me to jump in front of it. or behind it. So I did, several times. Also, you should check out the photo (one of the many) he took of me and my fiancé that night. We thought about using it for our Save the Dates, but we didn’t because I’m lame. Anyway, the night was great. Alex was equally great. He was great because he was surrounded by a bunch of tipsy hooligans, and was taking his job seriously, but was also polite and answered tipsy Amanda’s questions. I don’t really remember what all I asked, but it probably had something to do with traveling and dogs. In any event, he’s also got this amazing dog that I follow on instagram. I feel like I’m way closer to him and his dog than he realizes but that’s besides the point. I guess what I’m trying to say is he did a darn good job because the pictures were great, and I feel like I know the guy because he was really fun, engaging, and now I follow his dog on instagram. What more is there to say? :D
