As an HP employee, I’d like to review the Austin campus here for other contenders interested in comparing against the Plano and Houston campuses. The Austin HP campus was formerly known as Tandem before HP acquired them and in return, the building. There are two buildings, the Data Center, which is heavily gated/guarded and no HP employees can go in unless they have approval, or work in that building, or the HP campus where all other employees are with a basketball court, horseshoe area, future golfing area and many more amenities. They demolished the pool as of last week so there is quite a bit of construction now to get things better. The parking lot at HP is a bit of a crazy madhouse, as everyone likes to park close and I’ve even seen people park on grass rather than the newly designated parking lot. I do wish however, someday, maybe there could be a parking garage.(Come on, these Texas temperatures are no fun in a crazy hot climate with your car baking…) That said there is much that has changed with the campus, with a revamped food court, new atrium furniture and nicer gym area. I feel this cannot compare to the Houston and Plano campuses in grandioseness, but it can certain make do with how many people are in Austin. Side note: I’ve had coworkers mention to me that they’ve seen deer, snakes, rabbits and foxes on the path to the parking lot across from the building. Neat!
