Gunter’s Liquor

This is my favorite liquor store. The husband and wife duo are extremely nice and they really know their stuff. Their prices and the selection are great especially considering it’s just a small local business. I genuinely love seeing these guys when I visit. I wish Gunter’s could be replicated because they take care of their customers so well. I started shopping here over 6 years ago when my apartment was within walking distance on Jollyville. I’ve since moved away but I still shop at Gunter’s exclusively because they are the freaking best.

I love Gunter’s. They’re my local liquor store from now on! The selection is huge and the prices are the same. They pass the savings from the distributors right to the consumers! Plus, the people who work there are super friendly!

Just moved here to Austin for a few months and I love this little shop!!!
There is personalized service and they always talk to you and like other Unilocalers said if you go a few times they remember who you are.
It is run by a older Asian couple and they always help me out and they have great prices. Why go to specs when I can support local businesses and not pay a ton it’s a win win.
The selection is pretty good and I can get whatever I’m looking for can’t ask for more.
They have free liquor tastings every Friday night so I can alway sample something new when I go by.
Overall a great little store with a nice couple who operate it.
Oh and if you buy a lot they even help you load it into your car, you don’t get service like that anymore. Definitely come by and support the local business!!!

I normally am happy upon entering a liquor store because it’s my version of a candy shop. Hey, I like the hard stuff. This place though — I’m extra-​happy because of the couple who run it. They are THEE nicest people. The wife runs the register and her husband helps you find whatever it is you are looking for. Never has he ever tried to up sell me either. Their selection is ample for a small store. I have never left there w/​o something I wanted with the small exception of clove cigarettes, but that’s alright. Shouldn’t be smoking anyway.

I needed some Xmas gifts for some friends. I’m not much of a drinker and the people at Gunter’s really helped me out. They took the time to recommend and explain some of the selections. They even helped me load my purchases in the car. You don’t get that type of personal service at the larger chains. Thank you Gunter’s.

Friendly staff, incredible selection, and a very clean, well kept and presentable store. Definitely take the time to check out their free tastings on Friday evenings.

Oh I LOVE the couple that works at this liquor store! I am completely faithful to them in business because they are always kind and efficient. They make great suggestions, and they remember you if you go in a few times. I have not once been disappointed in two years of service.

This is my local liquor store. The family that works there/​owns it are super friendly. Try to go on Friday’s after 5 or so. They have free liquor tastings which are nice. That way you don’t risk spending 30 bucks on something new and then it tastes like burning.
