I have a 100 year old intricate diamond/​sapphire platinum ring that has had some issues due to age and the fact that I am probably rough on it. He has done such beautiful work on this ring. He is also pleasant and honest. I have used other jewelers for repairs in the past and none compare to him.

Recently, I took several bracelets to Don for repair, a number of tarnished silver items to clean (more about that in a minute), and my mother’s wedding ring to repair and clean.
Just picked the repaired bracelets up along with the wedding ring and all three items look beautiful. Don takes time to explain and educate you about your jewelry which I thoroughly appreciate. He informed me that the diamonds in the ring are European cut, very unique and truly beautiful. It shines and glows in the sun. You need to wear sunglasses to see it!
Although Don does not clean silver jewelry, he gave me information on obtaining tarnish remover wipes and where to locate them. And, in fact, gave me his last one in a little can. The wipes do work wonders. Just like Don.

I highly recommend Don Goodwin for jewelry repairs and custom work. I was referred to Don after a side stone fell out of my engagement ring. I had been to several jewelers around town and had not felt confident with any of their repair suggestions. Everyone seemed to be very vague on cost and how they would go about resetting a replacement stone, as it was a slightly complicated job. One jeweler even recommended that I start from scratch with a new setting.
I ended up at Don Goodwin and finally felt comfortable that I had come to the right place. Don was able to explain how he would do the repair. Because of intricate design of the ring, the center stone would have to be removed in order to reset the side stone. He provided me with a detailed estimate to submit to my insurance. He took photos of the ring and submitted them for me. He took time to speak with my insurance company and answer their questions.
Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, Don is friendly, extremely patient and honest.
Don’s estimate came in lower than the other written estimates I had received and his work is absolutely beautiful!
I will not hesitate to recommend Don Goodwin to anyone with fine jewelry needs..

My husband and I went to see Don to get my wedding ring created. He took time to teach me about diamonds and ring design. I was clueless and felt silly asking the questions I had but Don never made me feel as uneducated as I knew i was. He helped me design exactly what I wanted and for a competitive price. You get what you pay for and for this Indid not want to go cheap. Don’s work surpassed our expectations and I highly reccomed him.

I was referred to Don Goodwin by Calvin’s Jewelers to repair a custom engagement ring. My wife had bent one of the prongs in the main setting… a common occurrence with engagement rings. He looks at it, and looks me in the eye for a good ten minutes, telling me that the craftsmanship was poor, the setting was all wrong, and that the setting was not a new setting. Then he told me it would be roughly $ 250 to repair the ring. I talked to the original craftsman of the ring, who confirmed that the setting was BRAND NEW, and that the repair job would be less than $ 50.
As far as I’m concerned, Don Goodwin is a charlatan, and I highly advise people seeking jewelry repair to steer clear of his business.
