Gary Shanahan – State Farm Insurance Agent

I have been with Gary since 1995, and I always felt that Gary was looking out for my best interest. He always tried to get me the lowest premium for the best coverage available. With my home, life and up to 5 cars at one time I kept his staff busy. I recieved excellent help from Rebecca and Steve on claims and on adding and dropping cars etc. If you are looking for a positive experience in the insurance industry, Gary Shanahan is the agent for you.

I have been with State Farm for many years, almost 10 years. Recently some of my friends keep on telling me that I can find better rate and policy from other company, so I’ve been searching other insurance company. I found one. When I called my agent to cancel my insurance with State Farm. My agent, Steve told me” my boss is on vacation, and he doesn’t like to cancel client, so we won’t cancel your policy, and you don’t pay your bill when State Farm send you bills. It will be canceled by itself eventually.” What? I never heard of this kind of cancellation process. If my agent doesn’t help me at all why do I need an agent? I rather do business with other company which I can order online and when I want to cancel, simply I just go online and request cancellation, instead of talking to someone, wasting time and have 0 result. When I kept on receiving bills from State Farm, I feel angry with this whole situation.

If you’re looking for an excellent, extremely helpful insurance agent, this is the place to call. I’ve been a customer of Mr. Shanahan’s since early 2008, and every single time I’ve called they answer the phone (no voicemails unless you call after hours, obviously), are polite, and do everything they can to help.
I called once after a car accident, and the woman made sure that everything was fine before helping me with the insurance part. Any other time I’ve called, I usually talk to Steve, who is extremely patient and helpful.
