The deep fried grilled cheese is made of everything that is right and good in the world. It is literally made of dreams and one of the things I still continually talk about since I’ve returned home from Austin! The construction is simple enough but executed deliciously. The gooey cheese and the spicy kick from sriracha is perfect. I paired this with the deep fried cinnamon rolls which were pretty cakey in texture. The light dusting of cinnamon and powdered sugar was just right and not too sweet. Everything is made to order so it’s piping hot when you receive it :)

Food trailer is on the patio of rio’s, and it’s atmosphere is awesome. Picnic tables, mismatching chairs and really nice/helpful staff make it a great place to grab a drink or fried Oreos(obviously amazing)!!

Rio Rita AND tasty fried treats?! YESPLEASE! While I’ve yet to make my way through the entire menu, their corndogs and funnelcake(«fried dough» for us Yankee’s) are both top-notch! The breading/batter on the corndog is magically delicious, and the fried dough is has a moist chewiness to it that’s interesting and lovely. The assortment of toppings for the funnelcake are all worth checking out too. Date Night Decadence! Fried and True!

It was delicious, and made our group feel that perfect blend of satisfied and ashamed of all the carbs and sugar. Exactly what you want out of your local sweets trailer. Thanks Fried and True! Keep up the tasty work!

So, yeah, everything is fried, which is really fun. The problem? Everything tastes kind of the same when it’s deep friend. Batter. It’s fun, and it would be a fun place to take people visiting Texas, the land of fried food, but I don’t need to go back personally. It’s a try it out once kind of place!

Save yourself the money and don’t get the fried sampler. Instead, get as much of the chocolate covered bacon as you think you can eat. It’s bacon, it’s chocolate, and it’s just as delicious as you would imagine.

Love fried food. The fried grilled cheese sandwich with sriracha was pretty tasty, but my favorite is the fried Oreo. You can’t go wrong with battered and deep fried

Wow! I haven’t been to Fried and True for quite some time because I live in another city. However, I am so happy that I went to go try it again. The menu has changed a bit, but for the better. There are more options now than 2 years ago. This time, I tried the fried brownie bites drizzled with powdered sugar and chocolate syrup. What a delight! The quoted wait time was 20 minutes, however the wait did not end up being that long. Do not let the wait time be a deterrent in trying this place! I will definitely be back.

Had a deep fried grilled cheese and Sriracha sandwich while waiting for another truck’s pizza. I should have eaten more here and skipped the pizza. It was great. The service was super polite and positive. Great food, attitude and we’ll eat there again!

There’s not a lot to say here except it’s deep fried desserts from a lovely little truck and friendly folks. What else do you need to know? We sampled around, got a little tarty with the goods, and the cinnamon rolls are the best, bar none. We also did the fried oreos and, claro, those are awesome. I mean they’re fried oreos, right? Word to the wise: they tell you not to try to take anything home, that everything is best right when ordered and their food gets«a little sad» if it sits for more than 5 – 10 minutes. I’m not sure you’ll need that warning because how can you let it sit there that long? But in case you’re planning on taking dessert home, like we thought we were before we gobbled it, shame free because they told us we had to!, in the car on the way home.

This is my favorite place in Austin, I make it a requirement to stop here every single time I’m in town. I recommend the fried Oreos, hand battered corn dog & funnel cake. Friends say the fried cinnamon buns and fried brownie bites are good as well… But the fried Oreos are phenomenal. On my most recent trip — I made my friends leave sixth street on a Saturday night… to get me snacks before they sold out! Alexis and Polly* were working & were soooo incredibly friendly and sweet. Check this place out, you won’t regret it! Make sure you stay up to date on specials and hours by looking at their Facebook page!

I loved this place. First I got a philly from way south philly and then I was craving dessert so I decided to try this place Wednesday night. I got fried Oreos for 3 bucks and they were delicious. 4 big fried Oreos that were melting in my mouth. Never had fried Oreos before but these were great. Next time I will get the fried Twinkie. The lady who ran the counter was very helpful. I will be back.

Name says it all. They are do’in the dang thang here. Cute little 50’s style trailer food truck w/hipster gals working the register and fryer. Hubby came for the Chocolate Candy Bacon. Unfortunately, they were out, so he was very upset. Instead he had the Sampler Combo — Deep fried brownie bites, Oreo & cinnamon bun. Loved it all! That’s about all I could get outta him. Unlike me, he’s a man of very few words. I had the deep fried Twinkie. How do you make a Twinkie even better? You batter it & drop it in some oil, then douse it w/some chocolate sauce & a real whipped cream dollop. Was crisp on the outside and moist and fluffy on the inside. Will definitely go back before leaving Austin.

The portions are tiny for what you’re paying. Sampler sound like a good idea because of all the options? It’s tiny. The food is not that great. The sriracha sandwich is the most basic sandwich ever(made with American cheese) with some sriracha squirted on the top. I just went about an hour ago and my friends ordered all the food in hopes of delicious desserts and it was very mediocre. The lady(the owner) was lacking in customer service. I’m surprised there isn’t any fried ice cream. Or just general ice cream.

In the most unassuming trailer park sits the most unassuming trailer. At the helm is the sweetest lady who talks like a sailor that’s on shore leave. After having a sandwich at Way South Philly a few weeks ago, my buddy and I just happen to walk over to this pleasant looking little trailer and, after much deliberation, decide to go with the Fried Marshmallow and Nutella Sandwich. Don’t adjust your monitor, you read that correctly. Out from the trailer comes a piping hot sandwich, and when it is bit into immediately(side note: DON’T DOTHIS!!!) a cavern of marshmallow and Nutella magma quickly turns into lava. Delicious roof of mouth scalding lava(side note: WORTHIT!!!) Let the sandwich cool down for a couple of minutes and then bite into it and you’re greeted with layers of glorious flavor, the like of which have never been tasted… unless of course you’ve tasted it. Our next outing we got the sampler. Fried brownie bites, Oreos, and a mini cinnamon bun. The brownies and Oreos taste how you would think, really really good. But then that cinnamon bun, that thing is probably illegal in 48 states. You bite into this thing and what some would consider to be the perfect sweet confection has been elevated beyond the scope of comprehension of mortal man. Run, don’t walk, to this place. You’ll be glad to did, but you are really going to want to brush your teeth afterwards.

Boy is a big fan of fried food, especially funnel cake. Since he wouldn’t be able to taste the deep fried oreos served at my conference, I wanted to find another opportunity and Unilocal did not steer me wrong! After a light meal at Kebabalicious down the street, we ordered a funnel cake from Fried and True. And true indeed, it was a lovely fried funnel cake. Perfectly warm and sweet. I wish it was a little bit bigger, but then my arteries would have started complaining. $ 5 minimum for credit cards!

Dangerously delicious and addicting. You’ve been warned! The first thing you’ll notice is that the food truck itself looks like it drove straight out of the 1950s. Once you get to the window, you’re greeted by two smiling gals dressed in 1950s style fashion, complete with an apron. It was so charming! I instantly fell in love with the flair. The menu isn’t extensive but it has enough variety to not be limited. There are sandwiches, a few sides, and desserts. I ordered the fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich(see pic). I took one bite into it and knew that I would want to order another one! It was warm, crunchy, and flavorful. I was splitting one with my bf, but I wanted to just grab his half and run off with that one too! This place is a must if you love fried sweets. Perfect place to come if you’re just hanging out or in the area. Definitely go out of your way to get this experience!

Visiting this trailer will jettison you back to the era of 50’s family TV sitcoms. Everything from the friendly owner Arielle, to the cute well decorated silver trailer, to the fried up comfort food served from within will make you want to go home and turn on some old classic Nick at Nite black n’ whites. Unfortunately, there isn’t much I can eat here that accommodates my food sensitivities, but they serve up one of my favorite desserts in Austin, dark chocolate covered candied bacon. It is like sweet crack, I can’t stop eating this stuff when I start. You have to come early in the evening, as they will daily run out of this stuff, guaranteed. My friends recently tried a sampling of their other fried desserts, and found them to be good(even stated as such while eating), but honestly can’t remember details, as the bacon was so good, that it is all they remember. Mind blowing awesomeness. It will literally take you to another place.

This is my go to food trailer when I am out and about and need something sweet. I was lucky enough a couple of times to have the privilege of ordering some chocolate covered bacon before they ran out … yum … yum! Last couple of times I have been by they were all sold out. One of the girls gave me a card last time when she saw my disappointment when I found out they were sold out of chocolate covered bacon. She told me I could call ahead of time and they would hold it a bit for me … awesome to know! If you are with a group I would recommend ordering a medley of sweet and savory items and share it family style … like the fried Twinkie, fried Oreo, fried cheesecake, funnel came and the fried nutella sandwich. The corn dogs and fried cheese and siracha sandwich are definitely worth checking out here. I love fried and true and their idea! I just wish they would never run out of chocolate covered bacon :(

This cute n quaint little silver trailer has gradually risen to the top of my all time favorite decadent experiences. It’s always a delightful time when I visit Fried & True, full of surprises thru and thru. Ironically I’m not much of a fried food fan and do what I can to minimize the intake, however, this place changed all that. And after a dry spell I usually make up my fried-food void @ Fried & True. I love the their quality and diversity, the batter they use is excellent and their food never has that greasy or oily effect, it’s always very crispy and delectable. It’s literally some of the best fried food I’ve ever had. I’ve made my way down the menu, here’s the low down: — Fried Oreos are da BOMB! The best! Not greasy, puffy and toasty and very tasty. I even brought some into work to share w/the compadres, and warmed them up in the toaster(perfect!). They went nuts — –gone in 60 seconds. — Corn Dog Combo was off the charts! The corn dog was large marge, they use Nathan’s Hot Dogs(the best!), and the batter is crispy and crunchy, not soft and greasy. The fries were fantastic — — and they give you a boatload with the order. Get the combo as it comes w/a drink and saves you some dough. — Fried Pickles: the best damn fried pickles I’ve EVER had. EVER! It’s not the thin sliced chips w/cheap breading that falls off — oh no — these are hefty dill spears coated in the signature batter and fried golden brown. Dipped in their ranch sauce it really hits the spot — — it’s really the best as I am impressed. — Fried Nutella + Marshmallow Sandwich — — holy smokes that was probably the most richest and decadent item I’ve had since I could remember. You get the salty, crunchy, crispy, then savory and sweet all in one. A great change of pace and I had leftovers the next day — just warmed it up in the toaster oven and it was good as new. I was floored by this concoction. — Chocolate Covered Bacon is the BEST! Hands down! Why? It’s all about the bacon and the execution I tell ya. The bacon is thick and crispy and robust, not chewy or greasy, and it’s a thick chocolate coating all over as it all comes together like a sweet-n-salty party in your mouth. I’m telling you it’s the best and I can’t get enough of it — — they always sell out. — I fell in love with the Dublin Tart Lemonade — — oh my I can’t get enough of that sweet n tart soft drink! You can’t have just one. I missed out on the Fried Camembert but there’s always something new on the menu to entice you. I love(owner) Ariel’s passion and creativity — — nothing is off limits as she tests the boundaries and everything she makes is high impact, quality good, and without any of that greasy after taste. I think that’s why I like them so much — — unique, game changing, quality food, flawless execution, and over-the-top friendly customer service. Ariel and her husband are always a delight to talk to as they enjoy getting to know their customers and want to develop a relationship. You show up and order and find yourself wrapped up in a friendly conversation, it’s always a delightful visit. And don’t forget to bring your dog as Ariel doubles as a Dog Genealogist — — forget those high priced & unreliable Dog DNA tests, she’s the Real McCoy with over a decade of experience. You show up with an empty stomach and a dog with an identify crisis and leave having experienced the best damn fried cuisine and knowing your canine’s ancestry and breed! That’s a win-win in my book!
