I was at Festival Beach Park on a random weekday morning. There was a group off in one part, a few runners on the trail, and a few people putting water craft in the river. Seems like it gets decent use, but it also seems a bit neglected. Maybe I’m just comparing Texas landscape to Virginia landscape, but it just wasn’t a very pretty park.

I like Festival Beach Park. There’s plenty of free parking around. Also this is where a lot of the regattas(rowing races) hosted by the Austin Rowing Club take place. There’s a dirt trail along the edge of the river. I should go there more often because it seems very quiet. Well until now because I just told everyone and more likely it’s going to be crowded. But if you are looking for a quiet park, this is the place. But if there’s a regatta, then that’s another story.

This is the waterfront park on Town Lake east of I-35. It’s usually uncrowded when I row by. I’ve only been physically present twice so far, at the spring regattas the Austin Rowing Club hosts, when it is full of boats. It seems like a nice place that should be more crowded.
