Extra Credit Brain & Body Programs for Kids

Missy has a real gift for working with kids– especially those with challenges. We needed an OT that was trained in Sensory Processing Disorder. As we found out, a lot of OTs claim to have that training, but Missy is the real deal. She gets it and she knows how to work with kids to teach them to compensate. I also love that she has her own office and parents are allowed/​encouraged to watch the session. I’ve gotten so much advice and so many ideas. I am very thankful that we found Extra Credit! I would (and do) highly recommend Extra Credit to everyone I meet who might need OT.

I can’t tell you how thankful we are to have found Missy and Extra Credit. She has done WONDERS for our son! Her dedication, patience and understanding have been instrumental in helping my son navigate his emotions and behaviors. Missy was so supportive of our wishes to understand the why’s of our son’s issues, rather than suggesting we go medicate them away. She has given us all an incredible set of tools to implement at home and at school and she’s an over-​flowing wealth of knowledge. My son LOVES visiting her fun, clean and educational space and I can tell how much confidence he’s built since seeing her. I highly recommend her services!

After a less positive experience at another pediatric OT practice, we were referred to Extra Credit by a friend who was very happy there. I am so glad we gave it a try. Missy is an outstanding therapist who works extremely hard and puts very individualized and focused approaches into place based on the needs and personality of each child. My twin 8yo boys have responded incredibly positively to her, and I’ve seen vast improvements in just few months.
Missy puts her heart into her work, and cares deeply about the kids she works with. And she is so thorough in her research and continuing education, always reading and learning and making efforts to stay current on pediatric OT practices.
My sons have improved dramatically in core development, fine and gross motor skills (including handwriting) and in social interaction and awareness. I’m so grateful we have Missy!

After years of OT and tutoring for our child, we have seen it all. Missy stands among the best! Her depth of knowledge and extensive realm of services covers a child’s every need. Most of all, her fun and PATIENT personality wins the kids over and establishes trust. The Extra Credit offices are the cleanest and most organized we have experienced.

We’ve been seeing Missy for about 9 months and have been very impressed by the experiences. Our 6 year old’s motor skills have improved greatly, and it’s all happened in a pleasant environment, with a therapist who shows great interest and creativity, and takes the time to get it right. You cannot go wrong with her.

I cannot say enough good things about Missy Menzes. She was recommended to me by the place where my son did vision training, and I feel like I struck gold. My son has been working with her for a year, and I can say that she is so smart and passionate and dedicated about helping my son improve with his fine and gross motor challenges. Better yet, my son – who really is prone to not liking any of this at 10 years old – really adores Missy. It’s not an accident. Missy works really hard to get kids onboard and has such a huge array of activities to engage them while working on their issues.
Prior to seeing Missy, we went for two years to one of those really large O/​T places that has several therapists working in the same room. I am so glad that Extra Credit doesn’t have that factory feel at all. Au contraire. It is quiet and calm, and the therapist gives undivided attention to each kid. And the patient can focus easily because there aren’t a million other kids there at the same time.
Missy is driven to find what works for each kid. She will investigate, explore, and learn, until she discovers what works. She worked as an O/​T in a hospital setting for many years prior to opening her own business, so she has seen it all and is incredibly knowledgable. In a way, I hate to spill the beans about what an awesome place Extra Credit is because I’m afraid my kid will never get on the schedule again, but I owe them so much – that is the only reason I’m overcoming my selfish impulses to write this :)
