Sorry to have to strip my stars, but Dan’s fell off a cliff. I’ve been going to Dan’s for about 5 months. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The prices were reasonable. The alterations were good. Then something changed about a month ago(Dan mentioned something about new hires). The alterations became sloppy(jacket linings hanging out beneath the jacket, uneven pant hems), but the cleaning was where it became unacceptable. I dropped a batch of maybe 6 shirts, then picked up the 6 and dropped 4 more. When I went to wear one of the shirts from the batch of 6, I find that every sleeve and cuff button is broken… I check each shirt, and EVERY shirt has broken buttons. My wife brought the 6 back, picked up the 4, and dropped off 2 more. She explained what had happened, and Dan said he’d replace all the buttons and that he had talked to the girl who was destroying the buttons. As for the designer shirts with special buttons, I needed to buy replacements and he would sew them on. I get home and check the 4, and they all have broken buttons too! I then go in personally and pick up the original batch with replaced buttons… some aren’t even the right color. I also pick up the 2 dropped off when my wife addressed the button problems… they have a slip with a button warning to the employee written on it attached… and broken buttons! Since then, all buttons have been replaced, but Dan’s has lost my very regular business completely.

I don’t know anyone who works any harder at his job than Dan. After I returned for my third or fourth visit, he knew my name, what type of starch I wanted and that I enjoyed taichi. My husband left money in a pocket of a suit and Dan called that evening to let us know he would put it in his safe until we could return to pick it up. If he is not standing up front when I walk in, I know he will be there in about two seconds after running from the back so his customer will not have to wait. He has never lost an item of clothing and if I screw up and get something to him late and need it the next day, he usually can accommodate my wishes. This guy is dedicated to customer satisfaction.
