Compost Pedallers

The Compost Pedallers are the quintessential green and local biz. Every week, they roll by our home, collect and clean our green food-​scrap bin, and deliver the contents to nearby farms or community gardens for composting.
Even my friends in Seattle (where this kind of pickup is a motorized city service) are jealous, and wish their collections were done by bike. By signing up with the Compost Pedallers for a very modest fee, you support composting, local business, bicycling, and urban farms. The customer service is first-​rate, and the East Siders are regulars at community events to promote awareness of responsible food waste management.
The carbon footprint is negligible, the end mission is to reduce household waste and boost urban farming, and the merry sight of those colorful cargo bikes with the giant collection drums up front is a much-​anticipated visual for neighborhood kids. One Windsor Park neighbor even created a children’s book featuring photos of their Pedaller, Dan, on his appointed rounds!
