I’ve been a member for almost a year now and it’s official. I love this place. Like LOVE. Here’s why… I love the location of this place(easy to find, close to downtown, close to home). I love the look for this place(inside) with lots of nooks and desk options and stairs and my most favorite dark massive charcoal gray Four Hands couch. I LOVE the people who make this place perfect for getting word done, collaborating, socializing, napping, whatever. ALSO — the LOGISTICS. Amanda keeps everyone and everything in great working order. The internet has always been lightning fast, never any trouble. Plenty of parking. Someone’s always there. The kitchen has plenty of coffees and snacks.(SNACKS!). There are random whiskey tastings, pickling parties, ALLOFIT.

There’s a lot to like about this community. I’ve been here for nearly 2 years through rough patches and glory days. There’s nothing quite like Chicon Collective. People here ask you how it’s going and they really want to know. People here aren’t waiting to get rich to give back, they’re giving back right now, every day. People here want you to succeed. Not because they’re an investor, but because they’re a good friend. Chicon Collective isn’t a monthly subscription coffee shop, it’s an office for people who want to make success happen together.

Chicon is a great environment for fostering creativity. Bunch of folks really trying to create something out of this world. The environment is perfect for an early stage startup, artist, photographer, freelancer, etc. Stumbled upon Chicon Collective when I first moved to Austin, and it’s truly done wonders for me.

Cool co-working space with a full kitchen(yes, with a stove). Kickball happens every week if you’re into that sort of thing. I’ve tagged along a few times with a friend who has five passes a month. Everyone seems pretty chill, but bring headphones if you want to stay focused and not get too distracted when someone inevitably has a phone/video conference conversation. I much preferred working from here over driving all the way out to Westlake and 360 where my company’s headquarters is currently located. We walked to Counter Culture and Shhmaltz for lunch on different days. The door code(on the entrance on the east side) changes regularly, so you can feel a bit more secure about leaving your stuff there while you wander off in search of sustenance. There are snacks available if you prefer not to interrupt your flow, but I recommend taking breaks throughout the day. The restrooms are down the shared hall, so make sure you reenter Chicon Collective through the door with Ste C above it.(Easy to remember!)
