I eat at the one in kyle all the time. I had a 45 minute break before a 10:00 appointment so I thought I’d grab some breakfast. I stood at the please wait sign for five minutes. Nobody acknowledged I was even there, three of the wait staff made eye contact and turned away to continue their conversation. That was the end for me. Fortunately Jalapeños has opened across the street. Casa G’s has got the last of my money.

Place is a good location but that’s all I got food was okay the mango fruity drink they gave my wife was way too strong and the short chubby darkskinned lady with glasses was very rude she snatched the chips when my son still had his hand in the bowl everyone else was nice if she hates her job then why show up and ruin other people’s good times i will not be coming back.

Ok, this place rules the roost for breakfast(read the reviews), been here done that. Decided to try for dinner, and it lived up to that as well. This place is legit! Good food, good service, good peeps and all around great experience. This will remain a Austin staple for me(I don’t live here).

Oh Casa Garcia’s. You know you’re in deep with a Mexican food restaurant if you have them on speed dial on your phone. I can get here without going through any major intersections and they make fresh tortillas in the middle of the dang restaurant. There really doesn’t need to be any more said than that, but for Unilocal content guidelines, I will go on. The last time I ate in, about a week ago, I ordered a michelada. I’d never had one here before so I had no idea they are about twice the size of the average human face and are served in a glass that’s about half a yard tall. Ridiculous in all the right ways. My companion and I surely looked like total alcoholics with our ridiculous beers at breakfast. Then the waiter came back to give me an extra smaller rocks glass full of Modelo Especial because he didn’t think my michelada had been made with enough«kick». I thought he was just coming back to look at my green eyes again but either way, beer is beer. I got the eggs and enchiladas cause that’s what I always get. Unless I already ate breakfast, then I just get the enchiladas. Beef and ask for extra sauce. Trust me. Their migas are also really good. Sometimes I call in egg and bacon tacos but sometimes their tacos are really good, really bad, or somewhere in between. It’s the lack of consistency on the tacos and on the rest of the menu that keeps this place from being five stars. Like the al pastor here is the chunks not shredded and I used to know how to order them so I’d get what I was expecting but I forget. I’ve gotten the fajitas here before, they are no Serrano’s and Serrano’s isn’t even Serrano’s anymore. I feel bad when I bring someone here and they don’t get what I recommend and I can tell it is not a four star experience but what can you do? You can lead a horse to micheladas but you can’t make him drink.

We crave Casa G after a long trip out of town. Homemade tortillas, Their breakfast tacos are the best(this side of town), call ahead on weekends they’re usually on a wait. Warm chips and usually spicy salsa, accompanied by an extra large dos X hits the spot! We usually get a queso compuesto and enchiladas. It’s super close by and a staple in our routine for the last 10 years.

I have eaten here several times, and up until tonight I would have recommended it highly. Tonight changed all that. I went with friends, and ordered the Casa Gs Especial. They didn’t bother bringing me the taco. When I pointed out that I didn’t get the entire dinner I ordered, they brought me something totally different, that I never ordered. I had them bring a menu and pointed out exactly what I wanted only to be told that was what they had brought in the first place. I finally just gave up and told them not to bother. My friends were done eating by then any way. The food is great, but when a customer indicates they want the ENTIRE meal they ordered instead of just a portion of it, you make it right. You don’t argue. You don’t tell the customer they are wrong(which the menu proved I was right). You make it right. Period! I won’t be coming back.

The only thing better than the great Mexican food here is the«heavy pour» on their mimosas! Its lierally a full glass of bubbles with a quick splash of OJ. A local fave

Although this place can get really busy and a little bit slow at times, their food is excellent and their staff is friendly! My boyfriend and I are now regulars there because it’s close and delicious! Plus, they have a bar area that has four TVs, so you can watch the games! One more thing… their homemade tortillas are SUPERB! LOVEIT!

Yum! Only place in Austin that makes Chicken Caldo the way I like it! And the best part is they always give you tons of chicken and its white meat. The pflugerville location is also great!

I would give this place a 3.5 so I’m rounding up because there was nothing that put me off about this place. A solid Tex-mex restaurant with some more authentic Mexican dishes thrown in. The tortillas are hand made and it shows. The quality is superb and the taste reminds me of my Grandma’s homemade tortillas. I didn’t really like that the ladies had to dress up in the little Mexican outfits it was weird to me. The staff was otherwise friendly and quick. I had the menudo and it was tasty but not really spicy. I don’t think they use as many chile varieties as other restaurants but the meat was tender and the maize was cooked with the meat so it was flavorful. I would probably come here again if I was in the area. They seem to be doing well since they have many locations around the Austin area.

I’ve been here a couple of times and have been pleased each time. THIS is legit Tex Mex food. Once upon a time, I used to eat at this TINY mexican joint back home every weekend and at the time thought they had the best salsa. Well, Casa Garcias salsa is right up there. Sooo tomato’y with the perfect balance of spice! They had our complimentary chips and salsa out as soon as we sat down and our drinks were kept full the whole time. I had the Casa G’s El Favorito. 3 different enchiladas with rice and beans; The perfecto trio! Seating is plentiful and there are lots of place to park. They also have an area with a bar and tv’s playing sports. Go ahead and get your cheat meal on! You’ll be glad you did.

I wish that my stomach and Mexican food would get along better than they do. I used to be able to throw down, but now my stomach gets upset every time I eat it! This didn’t stop me from hitting up Casa Garcia’s! This place is kind of hidden in plain sight. You can only see their sign if you’re heading North on Manchaca. It’s in the same shopping center as church’s chicken and CiCi’s Pizza. Yup this isn’t the most darling of shopping centers. With the aforementioned restaurants nearby, you may be leery of CG’s. Don’t worry! It’s pretty great. I didn’t realize how big this place would be. Although they have it sectioned off well to reduce noise, this restaurant is big! Immediately when you come in, you’ll see a lady making fresh tortillas on a grill. I like to call her«Momma Garcia.» I LOVE fresh tortillas! I was already in love. We were immediately served with your standard chips and salsa. The salsa was at just the right level of spicy. I ordered the barbacoa plate and my girlfriend got the Especial Plate. Both plates were generous enough for two meals. To go boxes were definitely needed. The water here is too notch. It’s a filtered tap and with a twist of lemon, you’re in heaven. I also got some iced tea. I generally get unsweetened, but this time I got half and half. It was great! Service was fast and friendly. I was also really glad to see how clean it is. I was originally doubting how clean it could be with an upside down laundry sign at the washateria next door. Once again, don’t judge this place based on its neighbors.

Love their food, but their free wifi doesn’t work and they won’t let you use their better wifi. That will keep me from coming here versus other places.

Love this place for the fact they serve breakfast all day. The Casa G’s breakfast enchilada plate is downright awesome. The in house fresh made tortillas were also delicious. We went on a packed Saturday morning and the service was impeccable. Drinks were never empty, salsa bowl was always filled, we altered our order a bit and they got it spot on. Our waitress and even the bus boys kept coming by asking if we needed anything. 5 stars for their customer service. Is this the best Mexican food in the world? No but overall it gets the job done well. We left full and happy.

When I’m in town I have to hit this place up. I used to come here for breakfast all the time. The breakfast is great from the fresh menudo, caldo de res, breakfast tacos, and breakfast plates, I never had A lot of great choices for breakfast. I have tasted pretty much everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. The fresh chips and salsa are good, the tortillas are made in house and arrive at your table nice and warm! The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood and kinda hidden. It’s local and good. The atmosphere is great specially in the morning’s, it’s pretty packed because the menudo is only served on the weekends which I highly recommend to try. The waiters are nice and polite and quick to get you in and out. Very local authentic Mexican restaurant. Have not been here for lunch or dinner only for breakfast. But the breakfast is delicious.

I came here with a few friends because they live around the corner from this place and said it wasn’t bad. The place seemed cozy and not too loud inside. The waiter was quick to bring us waters and chips ad salsa. The salsa was a little watery for my liking but still had a good spicy flavor, and I mean spicy! I am a margarita kind of girl so we ordered a round of classic margaritas. They did have a good taste, not too sweet like some that are full of sweet and sour. Personally I think a good margarita should not only taste good but I should be able to feel just one. Yes of course I am drinking for the buzz not the taste! It tasted great but I feel like it could have been stronger. Their queso dip with the meat in it is absolutely perfect, not one complaint on that. YUM! Their chicken enchiladas are really good also, The chicken was perfectly cooked. I have also had the salad plate which came with a cruncy taco, guac salad beans and a cheese enchilada. Very tasty! Cheap prices, good quality. Give them a try. Oh yea and they have some kind of Big Red Rita like a dosarita with big red instead of beer.

I was already a fan of Casa Garcia’s but recently learned that they open early for breakfast too! That is cool and makes me love them a little more. I also recently discovered that they have a private room for rent and it can hold up to a party of 90 people — good info to know! They cater and are flexible with whatever you would like to do with the menu for your group. First I love their chips here. They always seem so fresh and crisp. I also love the salsa, it is spicy/hot but perfect in my opinion. The queso with all the stuff in it is great too! Now the queso flameado with charizo is delicious and different with the peppers and onions in it. Different in a good way that is. I love all the enchilada plates I have tried here. Chicken enchiladas, cheese and carne guisada — all yummy! Oh and they have dos ritas, corona ritas and big red ritas, which is a margarita with the beer or soda poured into it upside down. Anyway this is definitely a great neighborhood option and I am looking forward to exploring more of the menu as well as their breakfast!
